1 Break

A girl named Lily grows up in a loving family. It was great if it wasn't for the fact that she was born feeling like a spectator in a movie. She doesn't understand what or why people like these specific things or why they do these kinds of things. For her, she like all kinds of flowers because they're beautiful. She never had any favoritism to anything.

Today, her father told her to go out and take some stuff he ordered from Auntie Shayn so she went out but on her way she met an acquaintance. It was one of her classmates back in high school. A boy beside her classmate caught her attention because for the first time in her life she felt curious and this guy whose appearance doesn't amount to much yet has this sharp eyes that attract her. She felt happy because she felt like she wasn't a spectator anymore.

She wasted a lot of time talking to them and forgot about his father's order so she got scolded after she got home. After that, she befriended the guy and got to know him. The guy's name was Leo. He was a prideful guy yet not arrogant. They got along well and were quite the pair.

As time pass by they become more close to each other until she was sent abroad to work under her father's company to be the next heir. She was an only child so it wasn't really surprising. She wanted to stay but Leo wanted her to do her best abroad to become successful since he's planning to become powerful one day too. He said he wanted to become someone that can stand toe to toe beside her pridefully and marry her. She was motivated and decided to go abroad.

So many years have passed and finally, she became the boss of her father's company. She solidified her position and got everything under her control. She was happy because she wanted to look for Leo immediately. She hadn't heard any news from him for so long already because he requested her to not watch over him since he wants to surprise her.

She got back in her home country and went home but the news she got wasn't what she expected.

She regretted everything. Why she went abroad, why she didn't watch over him, why she never even bothered looking out for him just because of his words. A lot of whys but would it change anything...

Leo died. He has an inborn disease which makes his lifespan shorter than a normal person. He looks normal on the outside but his internal organs were slowly deteriorating until he dies. He never told her expecting she would forget about him once she works abroad but looks like he underestimated her feelings for him.

She turned cold and colder until she became an emotionless robot that has nothing to do but work. She never told this to him because it wasn't necessary but looks like she was mistaken. Her family can only treasure one person in their life. It was hereditary and the first child was the one who inherits it most of the time. She was the only child so it was already expected for her to inherit it too. His death spelled the death of her emotions, her ego, her life, he was her lifeline.

She worked and worked until she died overworking. She made her company the best but her death was the sacrifice. Her parents were stricken with grief. Lily didn't even notice that her parents give birth to a new child. For her, it felt like the whole world kicked her out and took her soul in exchange for stepping out of being a spectator.

She died... and the person who owns her soul regretted his actions in the afterlife.
