88 Learning the Curve

Sitting inside the small hut, I began to weave several robes for Emma to use during her training, "My love, do you want it simple styled?" I asked with a smile.

Emma looked at me smiling "Whatever you think is good for me" She replied as she sat on her wooden chair. I smiled and finished my work on the robes and presented it to her to use. "Choose what you like."

Emma picked the grey robe and equipped it through the game function. I waved my hand, and a wooden stick appeared on my hand before giving it to her, "Let us go to the forest, I will teach you a few tricks!" I smiled as I pulled her hands to leave the small hut.

I was wearing my plate armor, and it was to tank monsters and help Emma on the way. I remember during my previous game where Emma and I played together, it might have been VR but that is all to it, there was nothing unusual such as the survival experience you gain for real battles… in here I plan to fix that mistake as I made it realistic enough to make others get traumatized from fighting monsters.

"Emma, do you want to change your class? Even if it matches your real life class, I can help you get something better-" As I was about to continue nagging her for a better class while walking, she pinched my waist giving me an angry look.

"Do not speak about it again! I am no better than most of the people, just because I am your wife. I won't ask for more benefits!" Emma spoke in an angry voice.

I grinned as we finally reached the forest, west of the village we were at. "Emma, I will be instructing you on how to fight the monsters in this forest and kill them at the fastest pace" I spoke as I let go of Emma's hand before a sword and a shield materialized on my hands.

"Ok," Emma said with a poker face annoyed that I let go of her hand. I moved towards the forest, followed by Emma before I raised my shield and took a defensive position.

[Rabbit, Lv 1]

"First, never look at the level, just focus on its size and-" I let go of my position and pulled my legs back before using my full power to kick the rabbit into the tree.

Crack! The tree broke into two, and the rabbit was destroyed without any trace to be left behind except it's splattered blood.

[Ding! You have gained a level]

Emma smiled and followed me within the forest, I had my guard up most of the time, and finally, after walking for a few seconds, more rabbits popped up.

[Rabbit, Lv 3] x3

"Emma, I will leave this to you, remember that magic isn't about control or any of that bullshit words most of the people say, Myah once said, Think of anything, and it shall be done!" I smiled as I walked to the side.

Emma nodded and became serious, "Blood Splatter!" the moment she said that the rabbits began to shake before they returned to normal.

Emma got angry, "Spikes!" she chanted, but nothing happened. She looked at her bar and had a sad face on her, "No mana…" She raised her wooden staff and smashed it on the rabbit that attacked her before jumping on the other two and used a golf technique to throw both of them with one hit towards a farther distance.

She began to pant as she raised her staff again before looking at the three that survived from her attacks. I didn't speak but kept watching, "Mana, revolve!" Emma said as the mana in our surrounding began to flow towards her.

Emma smiled and said in an excited voice, "It worked! Fire spike!" A small fire spike emerged from the ground and pierced one of the rabbits setting its innards with fire.

Squeak! The rabbit fell dead, Emma face changed as she looked at her mana "40 mana for one fire spike! Ugh! Oh… I leveled up!"

I smiled at her excited reactions, and she rarely acts this way huh… it seems like I have been too unfair to her. "Focus on the fight, and I will make sure to make you fight later on!" I changed my face to a strict one as the plate headgear was covering my face not showing any reactions to Emma.

Emma killed the two rabbits before reaching level 3 and proceeded to enter deeper inside the forest. From level three, she fought for 2 hours non-stop, showing admirable courage to face monsters without asking me for any information about them.

[Horned Boar, Lv 9]

The Boar rushed at Emma as she sidestepped the monster while leaving a giant spike of ice to appear under her previous position. The boar got stabbed by the spike, but due to Emma exhaustion, she failed to realize the boar side attack which threw her flying on one of the trees and falling on the ground.

Trying to hold my rage, I moved to protect Emma, but she shouted "Stop! This is my fight!" She said as she pushed herself up. I saw myself in her, I nodded at her courage and watched her standing against her enemy, the boar rushed towards her again, and this time Emma allowed it to get pierced by more than a few spikes… sadly the boar repeated the same previous action which was also dodged by Emma.

'I need you to be strong Emma, and higher level monsters are beyond your imagination… especially the transcender ones.' I thought to myself as I moved towards Emma who was still fighting the boar and stabbed my hand into the boar.

"Why?!" Emma shouted as she looked at me angrily, "Go back to the basics, you have all of the time in the world, but you fail to realize the most important part!" I said to her with a strict tone.

Emma angry look disappeared as she looked at me confused, "If this was real life, do you think minor injuries gained from this stupid part would be healed easily? Think before fighting, watch your prey and take your time hunting it without gaining its attention! Foolish actions such as yours might work at the start, but finally, you met something that can't be killed with a few magic tricks.

Emma began to ponder about my words, "Follow me" I said to her as I moved inside the forest before carrying Emma with me to the top of the tree.

"Be shameless when you fight! Do not think about anything except winning!" I threw a stone to hit a boar making it look around before throwing another stone to another boar.

Both of the boars attacked each other, "If you can't win, use a third party to do it for you…" as the boars fought, the health bars above their heads reduced to 25%.

"Spikes is good but most of the time is useless, summon a monster to do your bidding and release it when you are done before getting attached to it!" I said to Emma as she nodded before closing her eyes and raising her staff.

"I summon a flame beast to be my servant!" Emma said as she opened her eyes and a small circle appeared under the two boars fighting burning them together.

"Roar!" A flaming serpent appeared before wrapping its large body around the two boars. I nodded at Emma imagination. The art of war is always resolved around trickery and the unexpected.

'never think of what is good or bad because once you are dead… that is all, except for me of course.' I thought as I watched Emma level-up to 10, my eyes widened before going back to normal at Emma.

"Huh?" Emma looked confused before giving me an angry look, "I didn't do anything, you gained this through your effort… I promise!" I said to Emma quickly as she nearly chanted something to make me get injured.

Emma sighed as she shook her head and spoke: "Summoner, that is my new class, and my title became [Wild Flower]."

I laughed at her and replied, "Summoner is part of the second magician jobs obtainable, you're lucky you didn't gain the ridiculous things."

"You!" Emma smiled as she acted angry before throwing a flame ball towards me. I simply pushed it away with my shield. "Hahaha!" She began to laugh happily. I looked at her with caring eyes and said, "Happy 21st wedding anniversary love."
