Boy Broken in the Corner

A boy and his mother suddenly have to move out of his father's house, which leaves the boy shocked because he hadn't noticed that his parents were having problems. The novella follows their new life and the travails of the woman as a single mother who has to start her entire life (financial, romantic, social), from the scratch, because she had depended on her husband for everything. The story is told from the irreverent perspective of the boy trying to adapt to the new situation - new friends, a new neighbourhood, new school; and his mother's new relationships with men, neighbours, family members; with his father and his stepmother on the fringes of the tale.
