3 Collecting The Reward

Five minutes later, the scout knocked on the door and asked to come into the office.

"Sir, he is waiting outside, should we allow him inside?" following up on his orders, the scout walked back into the office and asked the Commodore.

"Yes, however, bring over the two lieutenants in the barracks. If Kenneth tries to pull a fast one on me, I will need some backup." said the Commodore.

"Understood." the scout replied as he took his leave.

Only a few moments later, Kenneth walked inside of the Commodore's office. This time, he was no longer wearing a cloak, but his battle gear. Smiling Kenneth dragged the dead pirate's body into the office with him.

"I was told that you will need to inspect the body?" swinging the body over his shoulders, Kenneth with a quick bang, shoved the dead pirate's body onto the desk of the Commodore.

"You better learn some respect before this meeting is over. Otherwise, you can only dream about receiving your reward." seeing how barbaric Kenneth was acting, the Commodore replied with a stern expression.

"Yeah? Maybe you haven't seen last month's newspaper. Should I update you on the events that happened?" with a snicker, Kenneth replied, every marine in the world who were officers, had to read every week's newspapers. Therefore, regardless of what he would say, Kenneth knew that this Commodore recognized him!

"You are lucky that you were only banned from that ocean area. Trying to get in the way of a Vice Admiral's battle, just to collect a high bounty? If us marines were not hurting so bad playing a defensive game against the pirates scattered around this world, you would've been dealt with accordingly!"

Smacking his desk with his fist, the Commodore was now very angry. After taking a few breaths, the Commodore calmed back down and started to examine the corpse.

"Hm? It seems that this is that pirate captain's corpse. Though, I think your attitude needs to change, I take my job very seriously. Here is your reward of thirty thousand gold coins." the Commodore told Kenneth as he handed over three golden cards.

In the world government, you could at any time use a bank to withdraw funds if you were in a country associated with them. Bounty hunters, due to them only caring about bounties of over ten thousand gold coins, would receive their rewards in golden cards that signified ten thousand gold coins.

By bringing these cards to a bank within a country, a bounty hunter or citizens of that country could exchange them for real gold at any given time.

"If I had an organization, I could have collected the whole bounty amount! Oh well, sixty percent of this bounty still gives me enough funds to live in a country as I scout for new talent." thought Kenneth as he took his gold cards and left.

The only way for a bounty hunter to create a bounty hunter organization, was to have enough members that met certain strength requirements. There are three levels of bounty hunter organizations, and with the lowest, at least ten members needed to be as strong as rear admirals.

The difference between a bounty hunter and a bounty hunter organization, was that an organization would not only be given the full bounty amounts when they turned in pirates, but, they also had more political freedom while hunting.

The reason is simple, a bounty hunter could only hunt down so many pirates alone, however, an organization was capable of spending more time and resources strategically hunting down many pirates at the same time!

Giving more incentives like this, the world government was able to keep their soldiers more at home, while they could have contractors head into danger. This made the citizens of every country associated with the world government, appreciate it more and fully support the government!
