1 Echoed

"Echo."

The sound echoed.

"Echo."

Once more it echoed.

"Echo."

Again, it echoed.

Mellowed as could be, the voice soothed all around the cave and sought to go beyond via the foreboding and jagged maw of the cave. Blood painting the jagged rocks lining the maw, it was all but unclear the result of those who tried.

The young voice was unfazed, for it could not see but only act as the bloody mouth of the young boy allowed it too. Dry and a violent red, the boy's mouth condition was only bested by the purple lining his eyelids. Bruised and beaten, the skin surrounding his eyebrows was inflated, and seemed easily popped like a balloon.

Look not too far higher, and one could see his black hair that looked dark, really dark.

His legs were even worse off, multiple fractures rendering him incapable of walking. Pain spread in waves, and the only way to keep his mind off was by focusing on the echoes.

The boy, having grown tired from yelling "Echo" decided to change up the rhythm.

"Liam."

The sound echoed.

"Liam."

Once more, it echoed.

"Liam."

Again, it echoed.
