6 Chapter 5: Goodbye

- MIYA'S POV -

So I went invisible without taking the potion Alucard gave me and ran as fast as I could. I went to a near shed and I'm sure that they're probably hiding any weapon here. I saw a bow and a bunch of arrows which I quickly took it and went out of the shed to help the others from fighting the wolves.

I groaned when I almost fell to the ground because of these heels and the dress I am wearing. Geez, this is my favorite dress but I have no other choice but to tear the bottom of it so I can run fast and comfortable. I took off my mask too, I can't clearly see because of it.

Now I look like a crazy beggar waiting for someone to be killed.

If Estes was here, I'm sure he will not be so happy when he sees me like this. Who would've expected that one of the respected goddesses in the Light Empire dresses up like some lost girl in the street with a little dirt on her face and is willing to fight with the wolves with just using a normal bow and some arrows?

I need to find Odette and Kadita. Where are they? Did they already leave too just as the others did?

"Miya! Help me protect Odette. The wolves are targeting her because she's slowing and attacking them at the same time. The guards can't handle that number of wolves. I'm trying to push them away by making waves of water but they just keep on coming back!" Kadita is hysterical now.

"My power can't last any longer. I'm running out of mana!" Odette yelled and continued chanting again to cast her special power.

I sighed and did the only thing I can do besides from attacking the enemies with these arrows. I gave Odette my bottle of mana, "Odette! Take my ration. It will recover your mana." I said and threw the bottle to her.

Her eyebrows furrowed, "What?! Are you crazy? That's yours! Estes will kill me for sure."

I shook my head at her. "Don't worry about me. I didn't bring my magical bow and arrows so the mana is kind of useless for me. You need it more than me, you use it. I'll attack from the other side. Slow the wolves down."

Odette was hesitant before she opened the bottle and drank the liquid inside of it, "Thank you, Miya."

I smiled at her before running towards the south, there are only a few guards left here. I helped them attack the wolves from behind. The head of the arrow pierces into the wolf's heart. Shooting every wolf that dares to come across Odette's magical range until no wolf is seen.

The guards faced me and bowed their heads, "Thank you, Miss—"

"Señorita look out!" One of the guards said and pointed his finger behind me.

I was about to turn my back but it was already too late and the wolf jumped at me and we both fell to the ground. I groaned when my back hit the ground too hard and nearly curse this wolf. Damn it.

The wolf showed his very sharp teeth. I can't push the wolf, it's too heavy and I don't have any mana left to enhance my physical abilities since I gave it to Odette. I guess this is my end. I shut my eyes closed, waiting for the wolf's poisonous bite.

Several seconds had passed but I didn't feel anything, not even a single bite. Am I dead?

I opened my eyes and didn't see a wolf on top of me. I slowly stood up since my back still hurts and looked around then saw the wolf that attacked me was under another wolf. They keep on howling at each other, speaking I guess.

Later on, the wolf on top of the other wolf howled very loud causing all the other wolves to stop from attacking and bowed their heads down as a sign of respect before running away in different directions. Including the one that attacked me but before the darkness of the forest ate him, he looked in my direction then left.

The wolf that howled a while ago transformed into its human form. Now I understand why they ran away. As far as I know, they call the highest wolf among them Alpha King. Roger.

"I'm terribly sorry for what had happened here. I don't know how they got out." Roger bowed down and his eyes switched to me.

"Roger! What the hell happened??" That voice…

I faced my back to avoid him. He didn't notice me right? Besides he hadn't seen my face yet. According to Odette, you can sense your mate even though he or she is far away. I'm sure he feels it too. I felt my eyes glowing and I can't stop it. Heck.

I felt their eyes are focused on me and my back is facing them. I tried to shut Alucard in my mind in case he is trying to read it to know what I am going to do again. We've only met for a few hours but I already know your tactics.

"Señorita Miya, I'm so sorry about the wolf that attacked you. Please, don't tell Señor Estes about this. Let me talk to him." Roger continued.

I turned my head a bit to see what's happening at my back. My eyes widened when I saw Alucard clutching Roger's neck and pointing his sword to Roger's chest, "What did you do to her?? No one's allowed to touch my mate except me!" He let go of Roger that fell to the ground and breathing heavily.

"I-I didn't do anything. That wolf was about to—"

"Miya…" Alucard said softly. I can feel his presence is getting close.

He's not wearing his mask anymore. I'm right, he is handsome.

Gosh! What am I thinking??

I felt a cold sweat ran down my forehead. What was I thinking?? He almost killed Roger! He didn't even do anything wrong. In fact, he saved me, but Alucard hurt him. What if he does the same thing to me? I only met him a few hours ago. I thought he was just a big jerk and also kind sometimes. I guess I judged him wrong again.

He's merciless.

"Miya… You blocked me from your mind. Did I do something wrong?"

Yes! And it pains me to hear your voice like that. Damn this 'mate bond'.

I clenched my fist. This is the only way. Estes is right, I shouldn't leave the castle ever again. Why did I not listen to him?? He always knows what's best for me.

I turned invisible and faced Alucard. I can't hold my tears anymore so I let it all out, no one will see me anyway.

"Miya! Where the hell did you go?? Yes, I asked you to leave earlier because of danger but now it's gone. Please don't leave me. I've waited a long time for you and I thought you will never come. Show yourself. Please don't hide from me… I love you…" Alucard begged. Pain and fear are evident in his eyes.

I shook my head and touched his cheek. I know he can feel it though he cannot see me. "I'm sorry." I cried and ran away. I can hear him scream my name and begging me to come back.

I rode a horse to go back to my kingdom with my eyes full of tears and my heart was torn into millions of pieces. I clutched my chest where my heart lies, I can feel needles piercing through and it hurts so much. I coughed and covered my mouth with my hand. My eyes widened when I saw blood on my hands. I bitterly smiled.

I guess this is my punishment for leaving my mate there.

I arrived at the castle and did the same thing to go up to my balcony without using the front door of the castle. I left my bow and arrows on the table and went inside my room. I almost jumped when I saw Estes sitting on my bed.

"Estes! You scared me. What are you doing here?" I nervously asked.

He stood up and came closer to me. He checked my face if there are any bruises. "Where did you go? I heard that wolves got out. I told you to stay inside the castle but you didn't listen. Are you hurt??" He worriedly asked.

I shook my head and shove his hands away. "I am fine Estes. You are right. I should've stayed here in the castle then I don't have to face those cruel people. I'm sorry I did not listen to you." I said and lowered my head.

Estes' eyes widened as if he was in shock then smiled and patted my head. "I'm glad you learned your lesson." He said and hugged me.

"You can always fight back, Miya. Don't let other people step and look down on you. Make them respect and look up to you."

I frowned at him, "How?"

Estes touched my nape and pulled me closer then planted a kiss on my forehead. It reminded me of someone.

Alucard…

"Marry me, Miya."
