27 Chapter 25: War

-MIYA'S POV-

What on earth is happening??

The plan... it all went wrong! It was supposed to be a fake war but the Dark Empire took it seriously! It was supposed to be an act to make the fourth Mystic come out of his hiding place together with his army, but what is this?!

Alucard, why?

"Charge! We got set-up! We have no other choice but to fight back. They want a real war?? Then we'll give it to them. Attack!"

My eyes widened when King Zilong initiated the war. Damn, they're making it worse!

I froze when a sharp scythe was pointed to me. I faced the attacker and saw her blazing eyes of anger.

"I don't really like you from the start but I have to stop myself from hurting you because you are Alucard's mate. And now? I disgust you. You accepted him because you want power! Then you rejected him since you found someone better, right?"

Her very sharp scythe went closer to me. "I don't care about whatever your reason is, the ending is still the same anyway. You hurt him, and I'm going to make you pay!"

Ruby started to attack me while I kept on dodging her attacks.

My eyes widened when Ruby's body turned to ice, unable to move from her position.

"Miya! Run hurry! I'll take care of her. Go back to the palace!" Aurora yelled while trying to stop Ruby from getting closer to us.

I frowned. "What? No! I need to help all of you!" Why is she making me go back to the palace?? They need me here!

My eyes widened when I saw a car coming in my way.

"Grock! Protect the queen!"

Grock appeared and immediately built a wall in front of us. The car bumped to the wall and dealt damage to itself.

"Hylos! Take the queen back to the palace, quickly!" Grock ordered then a centaur arrived in a few seconds.

Who's the queen?

"W-Wait. Why me??" I'm confused...

"Faster! If he knew she's still here, he'll be furious!" Grock shouted. He carried then placed me at the back of Hylos. He didn't waste a second and dashed as fast as he could just to get me away from this place and I have no idea why.

I should be helping them and not running away! And wait, why are Grock and Hylos helping me? They're not from our empire. Unless...

"Stop right there, Hylos. So you are betraying us now? Where are you taking the Light Empire's Queen?" Minotaur appeared.

Hylos scoffed. "It's none of your business."

"Oh yes, it is. And you know the reason why we need to kill her!"

How did I become a queen? Yes, I rule the Moonlight Kingdom but not the queen of the whole Light Empire. I'm not royal blooded or anything.

"And you know exactly what will happen to us if we kill her. The whole Dark Empire will fall apart once we killed his mate. If he succeeds in killing Queen Vexana, the throne will fall onto his hands. You know what happened to the crown prince and everyone to their bloodline. He killed every single one of them died in his hands.  He'll kill everyone that gets in his way. Isn't that the reason why we're battling today?"

He? Don't tell me...

-3RD PERSON'S POV-

"You're scared of him? Is that why you're betraying us?" Minotaur scowled.

Hylos shook his head before putting me down on the ground. "Run now, I'll take care of Mino. Hayabusa, Kagura, and Hanabi are waiting for you at the end of the border. Go." He faced Minotaur.

"I'm not betraying anyone here, I'm just doing the right thing. Vexana is a useless queen anyway, all she cares about is power."

Miya turned invisible before turning her back and running away. She felt bad for leaving him with an enemy. All she wanted was to help but instead, almost everyone is helping her to get away from the war.

She sped up when she saw the three that are waiting for her. They looked like they were fighting.

"Seriously! Hanabi doesn't need to come with us. I can easily stop the enemies that'll try to catch up on us with my umbrella." Kagura glared at Hanabi.

Hanabi sighed. "You don't need to be jealous, Kagura. My feelings for Haya had faded a very long time ago. Besides, I like someone else."

"Who is it then??" Kagura's eyes sparkled with delight as if she wasn't insecure of Hanabi earlier.

"Y-You don't need to know..." Her cheeks are tinted red and avoided Kagura's gaze.

Hayabusa shook his head at the girls in front of him. He's a little embarrassed by Kagura's behavior but he loves his mate.

Miya appeared in front of them. Kagura and Hanabi almost fell because of shock. She just appeared out of nowhere and not a single sound was heard.

"Whoa, how did you do that?" Hanabi said amazed.

"It's my ultimate power..." She mumbled.

Hayabusa interrupted. "We better go now, they might catch up with us."

There are only two horses, Haya took the other one and waited for the girls to ride on the horses. "Come on, what are you waiting for?"

"I'll go ride on the horse that Haya's riding," Hanabi announced and was about to get on the horse when a hand stopped her.

"No. I'm going with Hayabusa. You get the other horse." Kagura argued.

"You go with the other horse. I can slow the enemy down and besides, you'll only distract Haya with your scent." Hanabi shrugged as if she didn't say anything embarrassing.

Hayabusa avoided his mate's gaze. How he wants to curse Hanabi for telling that to Kagura. Well, it is true but it is still embarrassing for him.

He cleared his throat. "Stop fighting. You two get on the other horse, Miya will come with me."

Kagura giggled before getting on the other horse with Hanabi. They left the border and went to the Light Empire to hide Miya.

"If you don't mind me asking, why are you all trying to protect me?" Miya muttered.

Haya glanced at her. "Isn't it still obvious for you? We're protecting our future queen. And the king also ordered us to protect you but he doesn't need to order us to protect you, we'll still do it even if there's no order coming from him."

Miya frowned. "W-What? Future queen??"

"Yeah. Have you forgotten about the rules? When a king is married to a woman from another empire, both empires will unite and of course, the woman will become a queen. That might be also the solution to the war between the two empires." Hayabusa explained to her.

"I'm not marrying a king nor anyone for that matter."

He shrugged. "That's strange. He said you two we're already engaged."

"WHAT?!"

Hayabusa frowned. "Aren't you? That's what Alucard said."

Miya's jaw dropped from what she heard. She remembered every single word she said to Alu when she rejected him as her mate and she's pretty sure that's not a dream. But here he is, claiming her as his queen.

"You're lucky to have him as your mate. He'll do everything for you, no matter what the costs are. Guys like him aren't easy to find in this world."

Miya stared at the trees they're passing by while all the things she had done to Alucard are rushing back to her mind.

All she did was give him pain but he's still doing everything just to keep her safe.

"I—" Her words were cut off when a yell filled the whole forest.

"Haya! We're almost at the palace, take her there. Enemies are getting closer, we'll slow them down. Hurry!" Kagura warned.

Hanabi stopped the horse and threw her Higanbana to the person in front of the enemies. It immobilized the attacker and immediately spreads to the people around him. She attacked them with her petal blades that kept on bouncing from one enemy to another.

Kagura tossed her umbrella to the enemies that caused damage and slowed them down. She moved the umbrella again to the enemies that tried to escape to remove the link. They got pulled back to the umbrella that caused damage to them.

They finished the first batch but there are still a lot of them left.

"Go to the palace, there are guards waiting for you there. Esmeralda is also inside. She's awake now and creating a force field in the palace. I'll drop off here, Hanabi and Kagura can't stop them on their own. I need to help." Hayabusa gave the lead to Miya and was about to jump off when she stopped him.

"I want to help too."

He shook his head. "Alucard will kill us if he saw a single scratch on you. Go straight to the palace immediately." Haya jumped off then helped Hanabi and Kagura to stop the enemies.

She had no other choice but to go to the palace. Everyone did everything they could to protect her, all she can do is don't waste their efforts.

The guards at the palace have seen her coming so they opened the castle gates to let her in but suddenly an enemy ambushed her.

"Shit."

Miya prepared her bow and arrows to shoot the enemy but immediately stopped when she recognized the attacker.

"Gusion?"

"Quiet, he's near." He looked around the forest and sensed someone from the bush.

They did not wait any longer because the enemy jumped out of the bush with his claw and tried to slash them.

Both of them avoided the attack and Miya aimed her arrows at the guy in front of them.

It was Argus.

Another enemy attacked them from behind and they easily dodged it but they did not expect for Argus to attack them.

Gusion got stabbed on his chest.

Argus removed the sword from him and Gusion immediately knelt on the ground while blood coming out from his mouth.
