11 Chapter 10: Rejection

- 3RD PERSON'S POV -

"Gusion, where are you going??" Gwen asked, panicking a little when Gusion started to walk, leaving her behind.

He turned and bitterly smiled at her, "Go back. Your mate might be worried about you. I can finish this mission alone. I'm used to being alone." Gusion said coldly and turned his on her.

Guinevere fell to the ground on her knees while staring at Gusion's figure getting small. She never expected that this will ever happen to her. He turned his back on her.

She smiled sadly, "You'll soon find the woman that truly loves and deserves you. Pity me, because that woman will never be me."

Gwen knew this would happen, the time where they need to separate already because they're not mates.

There is a way to unlink Gusion and his mate to be but Guinevere doesn't want to be selfish, besides Gusion is not her mate.

She lied about her mate. Guinevere hasn't found her mate yet and she hopes that day won't come where she'll be meeting her mate. She thinks that she doesn't deserve anyone because of her sin.

Loving someone first other than your mate.

Her love for Gusion is real, that's the opposite of what Gusion is thinking right now. He'll remain as Guinevere's first love and Gwen will never forget that until her very last breath.

She got up and walked then followed the path, next to the path Gusion took. A minute passed but there is still no sign of Miya until she saw an arrow darted into a tree.

"She's close." Guinevere whispered to herself.

She's about to take another step but she heard something rustling in the bush. Guinevere prepared to cast her magic in case something jumps out of the bush.

"Fine, you got me." Miya said while getting out of the bush, "But I'm not returning to our Empire without finishing my other two missions."

Guinevere frowned, "Other two missions?"

Miya bitterly smiled, "That's the reason why I'm out here, leaving my kingdom. Not because of the Twilight Orb that Estes and the King are obsessed about. I need to talk to the Fire Prince of the Burning Kingdom. I'm also trying to find my mate and I can sense that he's near."

She smiled while thinking about her mate and a little nervous about his reaction when he sees her, she did leave him because of a very shallow reason and she regretted that.

Guinevere scratched the back of her head, "Wait, I'm confused. If you're out here finding your mate does that mean he's—No way." She gasped.

"I guess there's nothing impossible in this world anymore. Expect the unexpected." Miya sadly said.

"Yeah, you're right..." Her shoulders slumped and gazed to the path that Gusion took.

Both of them started walking to reach their destination where they will all meet again, the Sacred Statues.

They were close to reaching the Sacred Statues when Guinevere blocked Miya using her arm.

Miya frowned at her, "What? Is there a problem?"

Guinevere didn't even look at her because she's too focus on the strangers around the entrance of the Underground Kingdom.

"Lower down your voice, there are other people here except us. I believe they're from the Dark Empire." Disgust is evident in her face. She narrowed her eyes to the girl with a dark pink braided hair. She kind of feels furious when she sees her.

Guinevere continued on glaring at the girl until the girl kneeled down in front of a kid who looks like ready to kill someone using his cards. She's pointing someone while begging to her brother about something.

Guinevere looked away and took a glance to the guy she's pointing at. Her eyes widened and her heart started to race because of fear.

"Shit, we need to go there. Gusion is in trouble." Guinevere faced Miya who is also looking at Gusion's direction. "Do you still have your invisible power? Can you also make me or him invisible? We need to do something!"

"I-I only have a few mana left, it won't last that long but I'm sure it's enough for us to make Gusion escape." Miya stuttered.

"Good, let's go. We better hurry."

"Just hold my hand then you'll be invisible too." Miya explained. Guinevere immediately held Miya's hand and rushed to Gusion who is in a daze and not moving.

They were almost there when Miya cursed out, "We're not going to make it. The magic is wearing off." They both panicked when they saw other people coming closer to them.

"Where the hell is Tigreal and Odette??" Guinevere didn't hear what Miya said and she collapsed to the ground when she heard what the girl said.

"Harley, don't do it... please. He's my mate."

'Mate...'

'Gusion's mate...'

'She's his mate.' Guinevere thought. She became visible to everyone because she let go of Miya's hand, Miya also appeared, her mana is drained. Miya gaped when she saw the man in front of them who is also looking at her intently.

They heard someone shouting and came out of the dark forest, "Miya! Gwen! Gusion! Where the hell are you??" It was Odette and Tigreal.

"Miya..." Alucard called her name but she refused to look into his eyes and avoided him.

Gusion looked at Guinevere and shook his head that made Guinevere frowned. He looked back to Lesley with no emotions evident on his face.

"No. You're mistaken, I'm not your mate and even if you are, I will never love you."

He rejected her.
