1 Chapter 1

Kira stood by the window in her room, watching the once bright sky filled with black clouds. She knew it was going to rain, and she had to get to work before it started pouring.

Kira was a 19 years old university student who works part-time at a Café. She lives in a two-bedroom apartment with her best friend Rebecca.

She had black straight hair, reaching her shoulders, black eyes, and brown skin. With a height of 5'3, and a petite frame. Her mother was from India while her father is a mystery.

"Hey, Kira," Her roommate called before pushing her room door open, "Are you ready?" She asked Kira who was slipping her shoes on.

"Yeah, let me get my bag," Kira mumbled reaching for her black leather backpack.

"You always wear your hair in that stupid low bun," Rebecca complained. Walking towards Kira before she yanked her hair down.

"Rebecca," She complained.

"Leave it," Rebecca chirped. "Besides, we have to go if we are going to get there before the rain, it looks like it's going to be a storm.

Reluctantly, she agreed, by letting out a sigh.

Rebecca was 20 years old, she and Kira both enrolled in the same University. She had straight blonde hair that falls to her back. She's 5'4 tall, with blue eyes, pale skin, and has the figure of an hourglass.

Both girls headed downstairs, only stopping at the door to slipped their coats on. Afterward, they made their way downstairs and headed in the direction of the Café.

Shortly after, they arrived at the Café, just then the rain began beating on the windows and roof.

It's going to be a long evening, Kira thought to herself before trailing behind Rebecca to the locker room.

"Girls," Mrs. Myers greeted.

"Hi, Mrs. Myers," they greeted in unison.

"Tyrese and Kimberly have called in sick, so it is just us three." She announced with a smile.

Soon after, Mrs. Myers went to her office. While Kira and Rebecca went to the front, where people started filling up.

It was around 8:40 Rebecca had received a call from the hospital about her mother's accident. Seeing that she wouldn't get any drive from the storm that was brewing outside, Mrs. Myers offered to drop her off.

Leaving Kira to manage the shop until she got back.

It has been 30 minutes since Mrs. Myers took Rebecca to the hospital and so far the Café has been empty.

Kira was scrolling through her phone when the doorbell chimed. Lifting her head towards the entrance, she saw a man dressed in a black cloak.

After he had made his way towards a window seat, she picked up her notepad and went in his direction.

"Hello, I'm Kira, and I'll be your server," She greeted, "What can I get you?"

"Hmm," He hummed before his eyes traveled to her face, "A cup of your blood," He flashes her a dangerous smiled.

"Pardon me?" Kira asked even though her knees were trembling.

"You're taking a tod too long," the stranger mumbled, "And I'm famished." He later added, pushing the chair backward while his fangs extended.

Kira turned on her heels and made a beeline for the door, even though it was pouring heavily outside.

"Why do they always do that?" Mumbled the stranger, and in the blink of an eye, he was standing at the door.

"Stay away from me," Kira yelled, throwing the notepad at him.

But it was of no use, one minute the girl was standing before a predator. And the next she was laying flat on her back over broken furniture.

Jason slams his hand down hard onto Kira's leg. Breaking her bone and she screams out in pain. Kira is thrown down again, and she lands on a shard of glass, causing a bloody cut in her leg.

Upon seeing blood dashing from her injuries, Jason finally lost control and moved in for the kill. He launched on top of her and bite her right hand, she writhes in pain as venom enters her bloodstream.

Her piercing screams echoed through the empty night. She was losing consciousness, and she gradually welcomed the darkness. Until she felt the man being prying off her.

She caught glances at her savior and the man who attacked her. Both throwing each other through the air and against walls. Causing the floors, walls, and ceiling to crumble. Then everything went black, but not before her rescuer shook her awake.

"Stay with me," She whispered.

Kira woke up from the sun shining brightly in her room through the windows. The sun's rays dazzled her and forced her out of deep slumber. She rubbed her eyes and was about to sit up when she felt something on her leg.

A cast? The thought when the front door opened and Rebecca walked inside.

"Hey," Rebecca greeted, "How are you feeling?"

"What happened?" Kira asked, "Everything is just a blur."

"I'm not sure," She mumbled, "But the cops, said that it was a robbery gone wrong."

"Oh," Kira muttered, "But why can't I remember?" She asked with a pout.

"The doctors said, it's likely you'll have a minor concussion. You did hit your head pretty hard," Rebecca explained.

Shortly after, a doctor walked inside the room, "Hi, Ms. Black, I'm doctor Jennifer, and I'm your doctor." The lady who was anything but a doctor greeted.

That voice, Kira thought, It sounded so familiar. But where did I hear that voice?

"Are you okay, Ms. Black?" The doctor asked, "Are you remembering something?"

"No, I just thought your voice seems familiar, but you are my doctor, so I must have heard you talking to me when I got here." She explained.

Silently, the doctor let out a sigh and began to check her injuries, shortly after she left the room.

Meanwhile, Jason was feeding on a human in the alleyway Jennifer appeared.

"You could have killed her!" She growled.

But Jason, ignored the girl, sinking his fangs deeper into the male neck. Having enough of Jason's lack of care for humans' life, Jen ripped the guy's throat out.

"Stay away from me, dear sister," Jason spat before he disappeared with the wind.
