26 Stranger.

Even the castle guards who had tried to ignore the fact that a human was in their midst turned their gaze to me.

I shifted my gaze over to the strange vamp, I could see worry and anger in his eyes as he stared at Ray and it was very certain that he would say something about it. The vamp who I had thought would warn Ray not to say anything did nothing but placed his hand on the back of my palm.

But I didn't fail to notice the way Dav had stared at his look-alike, those eyes sent a lot of messages which fortunately for me, I could boldly read them. It seemed he had tried to warn the strange vamp to remain mute but to Dav's dismay, the strange vamp angrily stood from his seat.

" Why should a commoner speak among Royals?" He blasted at Ray whose expression was usually unchanged. If I could guess right, Ray seemed older than him but when there's royalty, there's nothing like age. If this vamp had turned out to be human, I would have thought he was nineteen years old.

Ray turned his gaze to me and then back to the strange vamp.

" Prince Seth, it is only reasonable for the princess to know how serious we are in her having a child for your–" Ray stopped at his words. His behavior showed that he would make a mistake if he completed his sentence. I also saw the shock in the eyes of the guest as Ray almost blurted out the words that seemed to be an abomination.

" Well, Prince Daven still had a long time before he becomes king, I see no need why the princess should be rushed into having a child."

If only he knew how much I had said thank you in my heart, it seemed fate had blessed me with another guardian angel aside from Leo. My thoughts dived to Leo, I searched for him among the guests, he was seated close to a young female. As expected, he didn't pay much attention to what was going on as he pushed his focus to the large chunk of meat and wine placed before him.

" Dav," I called.

" Yes, wife."

" Who is he, is he also your brother?" I asked, a faint sigh left out of Dav's mouth.

" Yes he is my brother, he is half human half vampire." Dav blurted out the most unexpected words. Surely, I widened my eyes at his words, everyone knew what it meant for someone to possess the qualities of both human and vamp. He wouldn't be limited to a lot of things that vamps were limited to.

He would have no limit to the amount of time he could stay under the sun, he wouldn't feel so tired during the day and active at night and most importantly, he wouldn't limit himself to only meat and blood. It was then that I noticed the rice and the soup placed before him. Guess he wasn't in the mood to eat vampire food

" Ray, I would advise that you say nothing about the princess. She is your superior and should be given the amount of respect you would give prince Daven." The king said those words to ease the awkward silence.

Peace was finally restored in the feasting room as the guests focused on their meal, except for one person, prince Seth. He wanted to say something but it seemed that Dav's presence was stopping him from blurting out any word.

" Seth, is there anything that you would like to say to my wife?" Dav's words drew me back into reality. In a normal situation, it was very certain that Dav would blurt out those words with jealousy and anger whenever he finds another male staring at me, but this time it was different. He sounded worried.

" Yes I would, I can't believe that I would one day set my eyes on her. Your description of her did no justice to her beauty, I wish I could just be with her forever."

I prepared myself for an unimaginable aura that would emit from Dav but after some seconds of no reaction from Dav, I creased my eyebrows. No one showed any sign that they were surprised by his proclamation including Dav.

" Well, your wish would be granted, if you wish, you can be her guard or–"

" Yes brother, I would like that." He cut Dav's words short.

" ..."

How could a prince reduce himself to be my guard? I'd wanted to ask Dav to turn down the offer but when I saw the joy in Prince Seth's eyes, I buried my words in my mouth. That means that I would have three vamps protecting me but for an unknown reason, I had the feeling that I would be closer to Prince Seth.

" Can we stop the noise and eat in peace? Some of us need to get some good sleep." The king jokingly said out loud. Tired of holding a staring contest with Seth, I decided to eat the large pieces of meat and the soft wine placed before me. I could still feel his gaze directed at me but he was not the only one staring at me. My instinct kicked in, which made me turn my gaze to where the Queen and Dav's brother had sat, their stares were fired at me and they didn't bother to hide it.

Well, I didn't have the strength to worry over something less important so I focused back on my food. After what seemed like thirty minutes, I was done with the food.

Dav stood from his chair and gestured that I do the same.

" We will take our leave now, see you soon father."

With those words, Dav led me out of the feasting room while Leo, Ray, and….Prince Seth followed suit, which meant that he wasn't joking when he said he would be my guard but to what extent?
