1 Prologue ( betrayal)

The skies were clear, the chilly wind of winter blowing with a crispy chill, soft flakes descended from the heavens like petals casting a white blanket over the earth, and the trees. The seas froze into a beautiful ice stage reflecting the clear winter skies.

There was great bliss and merriment in the high snow mountains of Sedna, for today was the union of two great entities in the entire realms.

Magical creatures flocked below a great mountain watching reverently at the top where a proud tall figure stood loftily.

His hair, dark like the deepest shade of ebony, a great contrast to the pure white snow all around, it blew softly as the winter wind whooshed by. His skin, fair and smooth, like the clearest milk, it shone flawlessly, strong yet peerless features comparable to that of immortals, after all, he was one himself. The pale winter moon hung behind him, but his peerless appearance outshone even the moon itself.

A soft smile came upon his deep pink lips with his gaze trained down the hill.

Far below the hill a woman of great beauty could be seen, her dress as white as the snow itself, it's long train dragging upon the snow with each step she took, echoing with the crispy sounds of the snow beneath her feet. Her lips, beautifully red like the ripest of cherries pulled up in a joyous smile as her gaze landed on him standing on the platform.

All the ice dragons and creatures of the dragon realm lowered their heads In reverence as she walked past them. They were here to witness the wedding of the century between the great ice dragon king Draven El-Dezeus, and the beautiful leader of the fire clan Alina Credan.

His pale blue crystal orbs watched his bride as she approached, anticipation rose In his heart, there was an undisguised joy in his eyes. He had lived thousands of years alone, and in all those years, he never knew what it was like to love nor to care for another person until he met this woman, Alina Credan. The woman who showered him with love and affection, melting away his ice cold rigid heart.

And today was the day he was to be wedded to her.

He watched her until she slowly walked up the white steps that led to him, with every approaching moment, the time of their union came closer.

She came to stand before him and he extended his hand to her with a smile, her soft palm sat in his own fitting perfectly.

"Let the Gods and the heavens be my witness..." His voice reverberated deeply. "I, king Draven El-Dezeus of the dragon realm will espouse Alina Credan the leader of the fire clan. I take your hand in a lifetime's promise, we shall live in bliss day after day, for life and eternity, never to be parted." He took his solemn vows from the bottom of his heart. Looking into her soft dark beautiful eyes.

All the snow creatures below the mountain cheered loudly witnessing the beautiful union of the two great entities.

Draven smiled warmly, he leaned down slowly to seal his vows with the bonding kiss, when he suddenly felt something hot and sharp pierced into his stomach.

Everything seemed to suddenly screech to a stop, the beautiful moment, the blissful feeling and joy from being united with the woman of his heart.

He stiffened, disbelief surfacing in his pale blue eyes as he slowly looked downwards to see a magical fire sword which was held by his beloved wife- to-be stuck deeply into his stomach. The sword bearing a strong amount of fire magic, his greatest weakness.

He slowly looked up into her eyes again, but the soft expression she had on earlier was non-existent, her dark eyes showed a triumphant mirth and deviousness he'd never before seen on her face, her beautiful soft lips holding a gracious yet devilish smirk.

"Draven, the ice dragon king has committed a grave sin!" She rebuked as she twisted the fire sword deeper in his stomach, making him spit out a mouthful of blood, "You deserve to die!" She pulled out the sword and used her legs to kick him away from the altar, while using her fire magic powers to seal him down on his knees.

Kneeling on the freezing snow, he looked up at the woman whom he'd given his heart to now turn into a total stranger before his eyes with pained disbelief.

He had trusted her for a hundred years, given his heart to her for a hundred years. Why would his beloved woman do this to him of all people?

Alina strode towards him with an evil like smirk on her face, "You must be wondering why I did this to you right?" She uttered with a nonchlant attitude, having been by the side of the Ice dragon King for a century she knew best his weakness and how helpless he currently was in this state,

"My dear Draven...It's because I never loved you right from the start, all I ever wanted was your dragon core to form a spell to protect the soul of the man I truly love."

Draven's pale blue eyes trembled as he looked at her in disbelief, "The man you truly love?" He asked with a strangled voice, not just due to the pain from the fire sword but from the pain in his heart due to her revelation.

"So...this wedding is..." He couldn't fully voice the words of realization that the wedding he had longed for in a long time, in his wishful thoughts that it would bind him in an eternal bond with the woman he chose to spend his life with had all been a charade.

Walking up to him where he kneeled as different emotions clouded his eyes, she sneered using the fire sword to stab his heart once again while saying, "This wedding is your funeral!"

Draven spat out another mouthful of blood as the fire sword thrust deeper into his heart, nonetheless he didn't feel the pain of the sword but the pain of her betrayal piercing deeply into his heart.

He was the renowned king of the ice dragons, a creature that invoked fear and reverence among all mortals, for everytime he flew overhead, he left in his wake desolate cold and frozen lands. But somehow Alina had managed to slip into his heart, taming and loving him for a hundred years, only to betray him on their wedding day for another man.

His fists clenched tightly on his side as he felt his dragon form threatening to take over, but the spell she used was too strong for him to transform, "So all these years you have only stood by me to get my dragon core for the man you truly love...!"

"Ha ha ha!" Alina laughed out as she watched his weak form, taking pleasure in the pained look in his eyes and the betrayal that ate within him, she didn't feel a single ounce of remorse, for this had been her goal all along.

She pulled out her sword and was about to stab the part of his chest where his core rested to fully possess that for which she had bore by his side for ages.

However, Draven suddenly blocked the sword with his hand before it could pierced his chest again, a firm determination in his eyes, his pale blue eyes turning a deeper shade.

An inexplicable fear rose in Alina but she knew that he was too weak to be able to harm her at the moment, she had after all used his greatest weakness to bring him down.

"Do you think, I'll let you possess the dragon core just like that?" His voice turned deeper, darker reverberating with a deep seethed rage that'd invoke fear in the listener's heart.

Alina was momentarily frightened, taken aback, but she was quick to understand the meaning behind his words, she raised the sword up high but it was already too late as Draven used the last bit of energy in him to conjure the snow around him, with a flip of his hands he blasted her a far distance from him.

But using her internal magic she quickly recovered, the power he used on her not strong enough to keep her down for long as there was still the fire magic corroding his heart.

But Alina had just gotten on her feet when she panicked seeing his action.

"If you want the dragon core, then I'd rather lose it, than let it be in your possession."

Draven dug his hand deep into his chest piercing through his own heart he pulled out the core, a white object that glistened like diamonds.

Alina used her fire magic launching herself up in the air before he could destroy the dragon core, but it was too late.

Using the last bit of energy inside him Draven launched the core up into the sky, it soared across the moon with a snowy shield that protected it's journey in the air.

Alina tried to rush after it, but Draven stopped her, he materialized a snow whip that grabbed tightly around her waist, she couldn't dare make too much movements, because just as fire was the weakness of a snow creature, ice was also the weakness of a fire creature.

She turned around, glaring venomously at Draven, "Even if I don't get the core, you have still lost bitterly, how does it feel to be betrayed by the woman you loved? You will die here, without a chance to resurrect, I'll seal all your powers and destroy your dragon form, from this day onwards, you will seize to exist!" Her voice echoed with the blowing winter wind whooshing across the mountains with rage in her eyes,

"And do you think by throwing away your dragon core is enough to get rid of it? Ha, it will absorb into something or... someone, and when you finally disappear, I will find the dragon core!!"

"Swishh!" Bouts of fire magic drilled into his weakened body sealing all his powers.

His blue eyes turned darker, a usual indication that his dragon form was about to emerge, but this time came with a heart wrenching pain, for the fire magic was not only bringing out his dragon form, but extricating it out from his body, his mortal form, and his beast form would now be two separate entities.

"Rooooaaar!!!" A booming roar came out of him, along with that a translucent yet majestic looking snow dragon emerged from his body, but without given a chance to soar, Alina quickly sealed the dragon with her fire magic, sucking the gigantic creature into a wisp of smoke then sealing him into a little box.

Draven's body fell slacked onto the snow, he was now nothing but a mere mortal who could be killed from a sword.

Holding the box containing his dragon form, she looked at it with a triumphant glint in her eyes.

Alina stood over him with a triumphant look, "It had taken me a hundred years to gain your full trust and love, and I don't care if it will takes me another to find the next person possessing the dragon core." She said with a smirk on her face, "Goodbye Draven!"

With a sharp pain, his vision fully went blank as she raised her sword, and plunged it down upon him.

***

Far over the mountains of Sedna, in the great Birhhan realm.

The Duke's mansion was bustling as all the servants ran back and forth.

The Duke Gerold Villden could be seen pacing in front of a room where a woman's agonizing cries could be heard.

"How much longer before she gives birth?" The Duke queried worriedly.

"Please be at ease my lord, the lady will have a safe delivery." The mansion's butler assured calmly.

The Duke still couldn't keep calm, neither could he stop his legs from pacing anxiously until his eyes suddenly caught sight of something bright descending from the skies.

Fright flashed in his eyes along with a bright reflection of the descending object, "By the holy lord, what is that thing?" His eyes stared widely until shouts came from the soldiers around,

"My lord, please take cover!!"

"Boom!" A loud explosion sounded, a chilly air engulfed the mansion making it feel like the middle of winter even though summer had just arrived.

The Duke who had been pushed down by a soldier got up hastily looking over at the direction of the room his wife was to be giving birth. There was complete silence until all of a sudden...

"Waaaah!!!" The cries of a newborn child echoed in the whole silent mansion along with that the loud scream of the midwife was heard.

"Ahaaa! She's a monster!!!"
