10 Rearing Itself - Chapter 5

Shadows POV:

So as we saw last that hot chick and that idiot Pyro showed up... and they were dating! Dating! Why couldn't I get a girl that hot. Nooo the universe always looks down on poor old Shadow, life's already crap, why you gotta torment me so, huh, universe? Oh sorry getting off track here.

Anyway, we went home after I almost peed myself due to the fact that I was THIS close to getting turned into Shadow bacon ( I think that's Shacon?), so Illume and I were left with a lot more questions then we have answers.

The next day we met up again just to hang out.

"So Illume after all that crap I'm heading into the forest now to relax."

Illume:" What are you nuts? You know that place is forbidden, we can't go there, besides it stinks, have you ever been close to it, smells worse than a skunks butt."

"Nah nah who cares about the smell, I want some time to myself, besides where's your sense of adventure?"

Illume:" Okay dude firstly, no, secondly, no. I ain't even gonna let you go there, you know that place is dangerous, I mean why else would the adults tell us to stay away?"

I respond:" Okay fine I won't go, I'll just head home then, after we chill here for a couple of minutes..."

So now I'm here in the forest haha...

"Anyway, yeah it definitely smells forbidden here *cough cough*, sheesh it smells worse than a donkey's butt, or was it a skunks butt? Hey wait isn't that like a joke on it's own? A donkey's butt? That's like an asses ass ha! ANYWAY... ooh what's that."

I walk over to something howling and to my surprise this forest is filled with well a surprise. There's a tiny little wolf sitting there and from what I'm guessing it's doing, is crying, so obviously I'm just gonna... head on home! Ain't no way I'm touching a wolf.

As I walk further and further I start thinking to myself. Aaaah man I'm not going to go back, I'm not going to go back, I'm not going to.... annnnd I'm going back.

I see the wolf pup again and I move closer to it, slowly of course, it's still a wolf nonetheless so gotta be extra cautious. I move in slowly but surely... is it me or am I moving in slow motion?

Okay finally I get to where the wolf is and it actually looks like it's scared of me. Ha! Scared! OF ME! So I put out my hand to the pup and it actually licks me.

" Hey little girl, you alone? I hope you are cause your momma ain't gonna like this. But hey don't worry you're not alone anymore I'm here, don't cry. Wow I'm talking to a wolf must be pretty lonely out here. Hey you know what you're not so different you and I, I guess we're both alone in this world. Oh don't worry little Blight I'm here for ya. Mind if I call ya Blight?"

The wolf wags its tail seemingly happy.

"Oh you like that huh? Yeah little Blight, I've got a feeling we're gonna be best buds. Ooh speaking of best buds I gotta let you meet my best friend Illume he's gonna love ya but he doesn't like this place either so don't mind him if he doesn't show."

So everyday for a week after I leave school I meet up with Blight. I kinda forgot to introduce her to Illume or more like I didn't want to because I was scared what he might think of me coming to the forest in the first place, after all he's the one that told me it's dangerous and I should stay away. He'd probably stop me by all means from coming here again. That's just how he is.

But meeting with Blight has got me feeling a whole lot better. So much better in fact that I haven't even heard that voice in a while. I'm really glad for that, maybe I was just lonely and depressed for too long. "Anyway let's go see how Blight's doing."

"Wait where is she though, I don't see her by the usual spot... where could she have gone? Blight, here girl, come on where ya at Blight?"

To my surprise the little rascal comes running out of the forest like she was playing hide and seek with me:" Were you hiding from me? Dang you sure are a smart girl. I wish I could take you home with me, but what would they think of you in town, they probably won't even let you live there if they knew you were a wolf pup. I guess they don't understand both you and I. They just don't know how fluffy, adorable and cute you are, yes you are! Ah crap look at the time, gotta head back before Illume starts suspecting that I'm here. See you tomorrow girl, I love you!"

So I head home, chill with Illume, have something to eat and sleep. Funny thing is Illume ain't even suspect anything, he didn't even ask where I was or anything like that, but that's cool, I'm completely alright with that.

The next day after school I try and get my usual playtime with Blight but this time... she's nowhere to be found.

Not like before, this feels wrong. This feels completely wrong. The forest is too quiet. What's going on? I don't like where this is going. I start panicking and shout out her name:" Blight! BLIGHT! WHERE ARE YOU GIRL?"

I continue looking for her in the forest throughout the whole day but for some damn reason I can't fucking find her! I'm starting to get real upset here. But it's dark now and I need to head home. I feel so lost right now. What's this feeling in my chest, this pain. She's alright isn't she. She's smart I'm sure she's just hiding somewhere to surprise me, right?

On my way home I start seeing paws in the dirt. And here's where I get really excited. I start feeling my heart racing, cause I know this is her... but... why's this uncomfortable feeling still here?

I continue walking, following the tracks.

I walk, I walk, I walk.

And I find...
