11 Chapter 11

Next morning, Janani woke up at six along with Advi.

Advi is an early riser.

He wakes up promptly at six, will have a bottle and plays long enough to drive away his mama's sleep and goes back to sleep by seven.

By the time Advi goes back to sleep, Janani would be wide awake.

As usual Advi went back to sleep by seven.

Janani took a quick shower and switched on the baby monitor before walking towards the kitchen.

She also took her post it notes with her so that she could mark the direction in case she got lost again, like the previous night.

As she entered the kitchen she started looking for the ingredients to prepare breakfast.

She could find nothing in the darn kitchen other than the things she brought.

"Payal" she called out seeing the house help coming into the kitchen.

"Yes Ms Janani" the other woman greeted cheerfully.

"First of all stop calling me Ms Janani. Just Janani is fine" she said making a face and Payal chuckled

"Okay Janani"

"Now, why is this kitchen so empty? There is nothing here to make breakfast" Janani asked

"Oh, we make food in the staff kitchen in the staff quarters. This kitchen is not used" Payal said apologetically

"Oh so you make food there and bring it here for the Vermas?" Janani asked

"No. They don't eat here. They usually eat out or order food. We only make food for ourselves" Payal said and Janani frowned

Why would they order food from outside when they have staff for everything?

Payal must have read the question on her face for she smiled and added

"They come and leave at different times. They don't have a routine and they don't want people in here other than for cleaning. They are very particular about their privacy "

"Alright. Can I borrow some Atta from your kitchen. I will stock this kitchen later on" Janani told

And with the help of Payal, Janani brought the necessary ingredients from the staff kitchen to make Aloo Puri.

Well, the brothers might not be eating from home.

But Mrs Seth would definitely need breakfast.

So she prepared accordingly.

Then proceeded to prepare the food for Advi and Ava.

Armaan had woken up at seven.

He has a meeting at eight in the morning.

And the espresso machine in his room isn't working.

He can't work without his morning coffee

"Khanna! Khanna!" he called out, irritated at the worse beginning of the day.

"Yes sir"

"This damn machine isn't working. Do something about it" he commanded

Khanna sensing his boss's mood tried to work out what is wrong with the machine but admitted defeat in the end.

Armaan cursed under his breath and walked towards the kitchen.

As he neared the kitchen, the aroma of fresh food hit him like a truck.

He entered the kitchen and saw Janani working in the kitchen as if she belongs there.

Janani poured herself a cup of steaming coffee

"Ah! Coffee. I prefer mine black with one spoon sugar" Armaan told her making himself comfortable at the kitchen stool

Janani looked at him and raised an eyebrow while taking a sip of coffee

"Really? Nice to know. The kitchen is yours. Feel free to make your coffee" she said waving her free hand towards the stove

"I need coffee Janani. I can't start my day without one." Armaan gritted out

"As happy as I am to sit here and collect all the informations about you, it's quite irrelevant for me" she said throwing a sweet smile at him

"I want coffee" Armaan demanded

"Do I look like your servant??" Janani retorted

"You are already in the kitchen. Why can't you just make a damn coffee" he asked irritated at how at ease she looks in his kitchen.

"If you ask nicely, maybe I will" she said

"Janani, would you please make a cup of coffee for me" he asked grudgingly

He could do anything for a coffee now.

"Now, that's how you should talk" Janani said and turned towards the stove

"While you are at it, I would like mine with milk" she heard another voice add and turned around to see Aadesh grinning at her

"I was told this kitchen has never been used until yesterday and here you two are demanding I make coffee " Janani rolled her eyes

"Wow. Aloo Puri" Aadesh exclaimed seeing the mouth watering dishes on the kitchen table.

"Feel free to eat" Janani said sarcastically, seeing that Aadesh had already loaded his plate with pooris.

"Aadesh, we have a meeting in twenty five minutes. There is no time for breakfast. Have your coffee and let's leave. We will have our breakfast at office as usual" he told Aadesh making him pout.

He took a sip of his coffee and sighed.

It would be nice to start the day with her coffee.

At that thought he sobered and looked at Janani.

"You don't have to worry about our coffee or breakfast. It is just for today because my espresso machine isn't working" Armaan said dryly

Janani shrugged and saw Aadesh looking longingly at the aloo puri while having his coffee.

Janani packed some aloo puri for Aadesh and handed it to him once she saw Armaan walk out of the kitchen.

"Have it after your meeting." Janani said

"Thank you" he grinned at her and turned around to walk away

"Haa Aadesh, don't tell him" she added

Armaan was waiting in the car for Aadesh to join him.

"Let's go" Aadesh said as soon as he got in the car

"What took you so long?" Armaan asked

"Nothing" Aadesh shrugged without looking at him

He could clearly smell the delicious aroma of aloo puri.

Did he stuff the puri into his pockets?

After the board meeting Armaam called Aadesh to join him for breakfast

"Maan. You go. I will get some sandwiches from the office canteen. I am not very hungry anyway" Aadesh said and walked towards his cabin.

Armaan waited in his cabin for few minutes and then stormed into Aadesh's cabin only to see him with a tiffin box open on his desk

"Didn't know that canteen sandwiches come in the shape of aloo puri??" Armaan said raising his eyebrows

"Why are you still here?? Go have your breakfast " Aadesh said, shooing him away

He took one morsel into his mouth and moaned at the delicious taste.

"Only if you had let me eat at home, it would have been even better" Aadesh complained as he took the next morsel.

Armaan took the seat across Aadesh and pulled the tiffin box towards him making Aadesh scowl.

"Go get your breakfast yourself" Aadesh said and pulled back the tiffin box only for Armaan to pull it back.

"I don't have time to go out for breakfast. So we will share" Armaan said taking a morsel himself

He stifled a groan at the taste.

God!! She could cook like a pro.

"This is not enough for two. She packed only for me" Aadesh complained

"Didn't you say you are not very hungry?? So of course this would be enough" Armaan said making Aadesh glare at him.

*****

Once everything is ready Janani went in to check on Advi who is still sleeping.

She dropped a little kiss on his head and walked towards Ava's room to see how she is.

She opened the room to see Ava in tears backing up against the wall and the new nanny, a woman in her fifties walking towards her trying to coax the child out of her shell.

"Want nanny liddi" she cried softly and Janani's heart broke at the obvious agony on the child's face.

Janani walked towards them and the little girl looked up at her warily.

"Hello sweetheart! Do you remember me?" Janani asked squatting in front of her

She nodded slowly

"Why are you crying? Princesses don't cry" Janani said gently wiping her tears

"Want nanny liddi" she cried again

"Aww sweetie. Nanny riddi had gone to her home. She asked me to take care of you. She also told me to tell you there are no more ghosts here and that you can talk to dada" Janani said gently and Ava looked up at her hopefully

"Really?" Ava asked

"Ah really!! Do you know what your dada has brought here for you??" Janani asked in an excited tone

Ava looked around at all the gifts her dada has bought for her.

"Your dada has brought you a little brother. Do you want to see him?" Janani asked

"I have a brother?" Ava asked her eyes lit up in excitement

"Yes. His name is Advi. And he wants to meet his big sissy" Janani said

"I can play with him??" Ava asked

"Of course sweetheart. Who else is going to teach Advi how to play?"

"Where is he??" Ava asked looking around

As if on cue Janani heard a faint mama on the baby monitor.

"Oh he is up. I will bring him now. Then we all can have breakfast together" Janani said and dropped a kiss on her head before walking out to bring Advi.

Janani walked in with Advi and saw Ava excitedly waiting for her little brother

"Ava meet Mr Advi" Janani said dramatically, making Advi sit next to Ava on the bed.

Advi launched himself onto Ava and she thought he was going to kiss her instead he opened his mouth and bit on her nose.

Ava giggled

"He wants to eat my nose" Ava said wrapping her little arms around Advi.
