1 Ch-1 Where It All Began

"b...but you're my bestfriend... I can't just watch you die." A shaky voice was heard in the middle of the vast hallway of a giant castle. Two people were stood there, facing each other.

A woman with crimson hair and green eyes that looked almost lifeless stood there, clenching her fists so hard that it began to bleed.

"..." The other man stood there unable to answer the question. His amethyst orbs were filled with rage and fury. His raven hair was stained with blood along with his hands and clothes.

"Answer me! WHY? Why YOU of all people? You are not the Aiden i know. He would never do th-" before she could finish what she wanted to say the other one spoke...

"Ivy, as your master... I command you..." The one with crimson hair, Ivy, shouted...

"NO! Don't do this please! I beg you!" Despite her urgency Aiden continued...

"I command you... Leave this country right this instant. This is my last command. After leaving the country, you shall be freed from this shackels." After his command, Ivy who was still begging him to stop moved her legs towards the opposite direction of where they stood.

She wanted to rebel. She would do anything if it meant she could save that only person whom she wanted to protect. She would unleash chaos upon continents, defy gods, and sacrifice countless lives in a desperate attempt to save that one person.

As she left the castle, she could see the havoc that was created by her 'master'. The sky was filled with big, grey clouds that made everything look a bit gloomy. In the distance, flashes of lightning lit up the space between the clouds. The surroundings were filled with the mixture of dirt and blood's scent making the surroundings looking like it was abandoned by the creator. 'Gruesome' would be the perfect word to describe it.

As Ivy was forced to run, she saw all the clouds and lightning gathering around the one place—the castle which she was in. Her chest was pounding crazily as she got further away from that place.

As soon as she crossed the border, she looked back at her hometown. She was free from her servant-master shackels. She wanted to run back in, but she couldn't bring herself to set foot in that country.

The rumbling sound of the lightening was quite loud making it sound like a dragon's roar. It was a horrifying yet divine sight. Soon all the lightenings gathered as one and it struck the castle in an instant. The lightning strike went on for five second and started to vanish afterwards.

The castle was nowhere to be seen anymore. It disappeared with the lightning leaving nothing but dust and rain behind. It looked like the whole world was holding funeral for a special someone.

Ivy dropped to the ground after witnessing the sight. Even though she was alive, her mind was very much dead. Even though she was full of life everyday, her eyes were lifeless at this moment.

*************How it came to this**************

On a normal Sunday a 17-year old boy was reading a book called 'Heaven's Slave' in a library. His black eyes sometimes showed anger and sometimes showed amusement.

He often touched his dark hair when he was thinking about something hard. His face boasted a crisp jawline and defined cheekbones, blending a youthful sharpness with a smooth, approachable charm. Aiden. Aiden was his name.

After finishing the book he left the library and headed straight to his home. His parents were busy all the time but they made sure that their son will not have any difficulties in his life. They gave him everything except their presence. They never forced him to study or bring good grades but he always tried his best to make his parents proud and he was successful at it.

He was not the typical topper of class but his grades were fine, enough to place him in 4th rank. He understood his parents' reason for being busy and never questioned it most of the time. They would come to the house at least twice in every two months.

He had one close friend whom he chatted with everyday. The teachers had a good impression on him. All the neighbourhood aunties also liked him. They sometimes bought him food and he did the same. It was a peacefull and normal life.

After getting home, he went to his bedroom plopped on the bed and thought about how his day went. He took out his phone and started typing about his whole day. He did have a diary but he never used it.

Whenever he got bored he used to type whatever came to his mind. He has been reading one book since he was 17. His one and only friend, Ivy also read it with him sometimes. 'Heaven's Slave' was the name of his favourite book.

After typing for about half and hour, he got a call from his mom. He picked it up and heard his mom's shaky voice...

"A-addie. Listen to me. Get out of the house right now and go to your friend's house. I'll explain why later but just go." After that she cut the call and Lucas was left dumbfounded. He wanted to ask why and what was happening. Normaly, his dad would call to inform if there was anything important but, it was a first time his mom called.

He thought that if he was this urgent, he should do as his mom said. He grabbed his jacket and called Ivy to inform that he would be going to her house right now.

He and Ivy have been friends since they were children. Her father and Aiden's father were friends since college so they meet regularly. There was nothing he didn't know about her and same goes for the other one. He often goes to her house and sometimes stays the night.

"Hey, i have to go to your house right now."

"...huh? Sure." Ivy was also dumbfounded but agreed to it.

"I'll explain later." Lucas cut the call and took a taxi to his friend's house because it was a little far from where he lived.

He arrived at the opulent-looking maison that screamed 'wealth'. He paid the taxi driver before heading towards the huge gate where 4 guards were monitoring the surroundings.

They let him in without questioning him because he often came here, and Ivy made it pretty clear to let him pass without asking anything. She trusted him enough for that.

After entering the gate he was welcomed by the beautiful gardens from both sides which also had two fountains in the middle. He walked straight toward the mansion.

The head butler of the mansion was waiting for him as per Ivy's orders. He opened the door and welcomed Aiden. He was a man in his late 40's. He has been working here for more than 20 years. His hair was nearly grey and his eyes were grey as the moon. The head butler, Sabastian, said...

"The young lady is currently in her study room. I'll lead the way." He said as he walked up the stairs steadily. Aiden simply just nodded and followed him.
