19 The girl's a human?

Faster

Stronger

Arveion swirled on his feet when the man lunged at him, both their sticks clashing together. He didn't waste any time waiting for him to recover, immediately slashing at his feet, and doubling him over onto the floor.

Faster.

He stood over him, pointing the stick at his face, breathing heavily, his chest heaving and hair dripping with sweat. "Again, another round." He growled to which the man sighed, "Come on man, we've already gone about six rounds. You said that last time."

"Another round!" He snapped, his eyes written in flames, he needed to be stronger, he had to be.

Pathetic.

He needed more, he wanted more, though he was tired, his limbs sore from all the training he couldn't stop there.

The man got up, "Geez man an—"

"That's enough." Indigo showed up behind him, her hands crossed her chest. She had a feeling that he was going all out, working himself out as a way of coping with his brother's death. Blaming himself to have fuel to go over the edge, "6 rounds, are you trying to kill yourself?" She turned him around with his sweaty bicep to which he flinched.

"I have to do this, Indigo." He snarled at her, eyes darkened,"I have to."

"No you don't, you don't have to do anything right now, at least not like this, let's go inside now, you said you have something important to announce, remember." She sighed, she hadn't seen him so broken in a long time,"And I think everyone else deserves to know about Davis' death as much as us."

"Them?" Arveion shook his head, "They don't need to know anything, do you seriously think they care, his death is just like any other angel that failed." He then turns to his opponent again, his back to her, "Striker, again."

Indigo sighed, her eyes dropping to the floor but not giving up just yet, before he could return to Striker she grabbed his wrist," Fight me instead." She says and his eyes widen.

"I'm not fighting you Indigo, I—"

"Why not, or are you afraid of getting your ass beaten. It's no different now, it'll be just like the old days. On training."

Arveion removed her hand from his wrist but she caught him again," Look Indigo, I don't want to hurt you, if we fight right now, I won't be able to hold back, you know this." He says a little gently to her, resting his hand over her head but she doesn't let go.

"I need to find something to take out my anger as well." She whispered, her voice soft and hidden as she stared at the ground,"Please…"

Arveion nodded at her, giving her his stick and walking over to Striker to take the other, finally he was dismissed after losing 6 rounds to Arveion.

Indigo and Arveion stood face to face with each other, on the training ground. It's a while since they've actually had a real fight, Arveion may not admit it but he was rather happy to be able to fight with her again. Indigo being a person he quite enjoys sparring with, almost better than all the boy's on his squad.

Out of all of them, it was her that managed to put up a great fight, worthy of his time. Saying it didn't make it embarrassing as it was the truth and the strength he knew she had—however, he wasn't going to say it to her face.

A smirk painted Indigo's face when she lunged at him, knowing he was going to block her stick as soon as she came and decided to dodge it instead, scoring a kick to his ribs.

"You know me too well." He smiles proudly at her before clashing their sticks together.

"Something like that." Indigo then withdraws her stick, walking back away from him,"Again."

They lunge at each other again, this time, Arveion moving his stick at great speed, Indigo swirling around the columns to stop them.

He sends the stick at her stomach to which she lowers her hand to stop it, "Getting a little rusty now." She teases but before her stick could touch his arm, he sidestepped, her stick smashing into the beam, and with his elbow he collided it with her stomach, causing her to stumble backward.

Indigo heaved, trying to control her breathing, while her lungs spasm. She held her stomach with one hand and used the other to block Arveions endless attacks.

Since one hand didn't have enough strength to hold the heavy stick it caused her to stumble back frantically, each blow from him sent her stick flying.

However the adrenaline in her body kept her going, she sent her stick again however Arveion was relentlessly dodging every attack she sent, he swung his stick again at her head.

But Indigo came into panic mode knowing that she would get knocked out if she didn't block it. She clenched both hands on the stick again, gaining enough energy to block and send an upward stick under Arveion's neck. Once her hit took progress and he staggered back, she wasted no time and lunged at him again.

Arveion caught himself, holding both ends of the stick to stop Indigo's attack, his face was now of rage, coming at her with everything he got, his stuck going in furious speed, blows now too intense for Indigo to get out of.

She saw his face and tensed, there was such rage radiating from his body and his moves, she couldn't stop him when her back slammed into a column, his stick going to her jaw. Her neck reclined at the hit, smashing into the column and blood running down her neck.

Before he could counter again, she ducks, the stick tearing the concrete.

She quickly tripped him with, now being the faster on since his energy was used up. He fell on his knees, and she reclined her feet so that she could collide her knee into his nose, kicking his stick out of his hand, and with hers she aimed it under his jaw, raising his neck to face her.

"Too much strength isn't always the answer Arveion, especially when overworking yourself, sometimes your strength comes from doing nothing at all, going all out isn't going to make you stronger without killing you in the end...nor is it going to bring him back." She looked at him, pain in both of their eyes.

She smiled, she couldn't break down again. "Man did you fuck me up. I thought you were gonna kill me." She laughs, helping him off the floor,"I'm proud of you." She says. She knew that he could have won if he didn't go all out like that.

Arveion wrapped his hand around her shoulder, "Nah, I'm proud of you, though it hurts to admit, you won that fight. Like I'm scared to talk to you right now." He joked and then glared at her, his laugh fell, "Oh and sorry about your face "

"Likewise."

***

He stood in front of the mirror when he straightened the wrinkles in his shirt.

"Hey you in there bro." A knock came from the door, and he turned to answer it. Indigo and Arsan stood side by side in the hall for him.

"Ready." He says to her, before giving Arsan a simple nod," Arsan"

The three walked through the wall, where they then went outside to the other side of the Queendom, standing in front of the big wooden doors.

Indigo squeezed his bicep for assurance, "Let's go." She then pushed open the doors, getting a welcome from the Queen who sat on the throne as well as some of the angels, interested in hearing Arveion's important discussion.

The three kneeled once at the center before splitting up, Arveion being the only one remaining on the tiles, Arsan and Indigo taking a seat at the back.

Luna straightened at the sight of him, no longer slouching as she finally had news to be discussed, "And what brings you here today?" She leaned on the throne, chin held between her fingers, "Are you now willing to speak after the return from Earth?"

He nodded, looking up at the goddess with pure seriousness in his eyes, there was no holding him back from speaking his mind. "Yes. It is about the girl. Amber Lane is her name—"

"Yes, I'm listening…" Her jaw tightened, eagerly tapping her feet on the floor, "Is there something wrong?"

Arveion pressed his lips together trying to hold back his anger, "Is there something wrong, I don't know, have any of you heard from Davis yet—" He turned to the crowd, which burst out in murmurs—He chuckled to himself, clenching his fist at his sides, "Yeah that's what I thought."

He then looked into Luna's eyes as if asking permission and once she shook her head, he got up, fully turning to face the seated people. He bit his lips, trying his best to hold it in but cursed either way,"The girl's a fucking human." He barked and the crowd erupted with gasps and eyebrows raised into confusion.

He then turned at the throne," She's a human, consisting of no magic, no abilities, equaling no help to us, yet still, it all leads to her. I should've known this whole prophecy thing was all of no use.

Luna stood, trying her best to understand what Arveion was trying to get at, "What do you mean human? No help to us? You must've got the wrong person, are you sure about this? Then how could she be the source then?"

"The girl was clueless, trust me I'll know because I tried, I tried getting it out of her, but she's just like the others. I'm certain that she only knew demons existed from then, I saw the look in her eyes."

"This can't be, the prophecy said that the child hidden on the human's Earth should have the ability to save this world. It specifically said, `Find the girl and she shall lead you to victory with her wisdom and ability to move mountains. So you're saying the procephy chose her but she has no magic?"

Arveion ran a hand up to his forehead, "The thing that girl will be moving is houses when the demons start to come at her. That's no concern to us though, they should take her, us being out of their hair."

"We can't decide on anything currently unless we know for sure that the girl is really of no use—"

"So what are you saying?" Arveion shifted on his feet, the conversation was getting nowhere.

"I'm saying that we continue all protection unless these terms discussed are true."

"Protection?!" He barked,"So we're still protecting the human, meaning that people continue to die just like how Davis died for a prophecy as close to useless to us." His heart was racing when he finished, feeling his blood boil beneath his skin, breathing heavily when anger took its course.

Luna stopped, including all the angels in the crowd at Arveion's sudden blurt out, her face fell," Davis...is, he's…dead?"
