9 Invitation?

"Honey, come downstairs quick!"

Amber rolled off the bed and her face collided with the carpet.

"Uhh…" She groaned, reaching her hand up to her side table and stopped her alarm clock.

"Coming!" She rushed over to her bedside and picked up a broom, removing the stick and clenching it in her palms.

"Mom? Are you okay?" She asked while slowly walking down the stairs.

"No!" Her mother screamed, getting her frightened.

"Mom, I'm coming." Amber rushed down the stairs and without looking she swung the stick back and forth.

"Leave her alone!" Amber continued, "Run, mom, run!"  But when she swung the stick again she heard a scream and opened her eyes to see her mother trying to dodge her attack.

"Shit, Amber, honey! Stop that." She caught the stick and Amber cocked an eyebrow.

"There's no one here?" She asked and dropped the stick to the floor. "I heard you scream."

Amber's mother Chloe held her hips, "No there's no one here…"

"Then why were you screaming?"

"Guess what came in the mail today." Chloe walked over to her kitchen counter and picked up an envelope. "Guess!"

Amber sighed, "I don't know money for my college tuition."

"No, even better!" Chloe shoved the envelope into her daughter's hand with stars in her eyes.

"Read it!"

"Okay, okay." Amber opened the envelope and removed a golden card with weird designs of letters and symbols and in some cases, the words were of a different language.

Whatever it was the persona had to be fancy when it came to designing.

It looked rich, and read:

Dear House of the Lane's.

'This letter is sent to you by upper runners of Ethereal  White's Elite—we represent the newest and populated hotel located right here in California; master bedrooms are all our rooms, swimming pool, hot tub, all-you-can-eat buffet, and many more to come. The best thing is, it's all free. Coming from us to you, you have been chosen as one of our members for this year. Chloe Lane and her to her daughter Amber Lane...I hope you join us! Offered on March 23rd, 2017. The white-winged elites. WW Diverse Elites. The golden resort of Paradise. '

"The white-winged elites, I've never heard of it." Most importantly, 'How do they know us?'Amber wondered, she had never competed in their so-called list of their participants nor did she heard of WW Diverse Elite's golden resort as being a populated hotel before. Either way, it's not like she'll know, she hardly goes anywhere.

"Mom, I'm not sure about this, people like this are usually scams. It's no good, I mean WW Diverse Elite's tell me that doesn't sound made up." Amber sighed, her mother was almost too easily convinced when it came to free food.

"Do you see how fancy the card is? These people sound top nudge. I mean the thing says elites!" Chloe was almost bursting with excitement, she could already feel that warm water against her skin.

"Okay search it up then. My old ass needs a vacation, Amber." She held Amber's wrist and pulled her to the living room.

Chloe was not actually old, being only in her late 20's and beautiful, she had well-defined curves and the body of a teenager, she was also fitted with a toned body. Her hair was a dark black, flowing over her shoulders, with a light skin complexion and lips painted in a dark cherry red. People said Amber got her looks from her mother and often refer to them as sisters.

"Geez, don't get too excited." Amber opened the computer from the table and her mother sat on the chair jammed next to her.

"People just don't give out opportunities like these moms." She searched the name of the hotel along with the address and nothing came up, she turned to face her disappointed mother frowning, "You see what I told you."

But when she was about to get up, Chloe tapped her back down by her wrist and tapped her shoulder multiple times, like a kid she exclaimed, "Look, look!" She pointed at the computer"No, no. It's real. Read it again!" And this time when Amber looked into the screen, she pushed down her eyelids and looked again feeling like her eyes were playing tricks on her, and it was indeed right there.

"WW Diverse Elite's, currently the most trending hotel on the internet, over 80 thousand people visited in the last...month! Well, Holy shit!" Amber cursed out earning a light slap on her thigh by her mother.

"Sorry…" She held her palms up and Chloe laughed.

"I'll let it slide this time since we're going to the most popular hotel!" Her mother shrieked.

"How one changes when offered free things—" Amber laughed but they were cut short when a knock erupted from behind the door.

"Are you expecting someone?" Chloe asked and Amber shook her head, "No."

"Coming!" She answered when the person knocked again.

Amber got up picking back up the broomstick as her mother peaked through the peephole, "Who is it?" She asked and Chloe shook her head, "I don't know, some guy dressed in a white suit."

"He looks nice…" Chloe winked at her daughter, "I'm opening it."

Amber internally groaned, "Mom, I told you I don't know the—"

Click!

She opened the door anyway and Amber tiptoed to see who it was but she couldn't see him over her mother's shoulder.

She listened in on their conversation.

"Good morning." Chloe was leaning the door against her hips.

"Mrs. Lane." Amber heard the man's low husky voice.

"Yes, that is me, may I ask if I'm supposed to know you."

"No, but I am called Arsan, here because you have been given one of our golden cards. Is that right?"

"Yes, I have." Chloe nodded," But why are—"

"You have been invited to WW's Diversity Elite's, therefore I am here to escort you."

"Escort us? That's a lot, we could have simply driven but thanks I guess."

"Yes, yes and by that word 'us' you are not the only one who has been chosen, your husband and—"

"Is there a specific rule of only being able to go as a household? My husband won't be able to make it—"

"No, that's okay, are there others?" The man's neck bent to the side, trying to see past her.

"Yes, my daughter Amber…" Chloe trailed off, flowing the mans' gaze, "Is everything okay?"

"Perfect. Everythings perfect...now. There are no laid out rules." The man lowered his glasses and looked into the house, where his eyes were met with Amber's.

Amber watched at the man's almond eyes, seeing a slight sparkle.

"Everything. Is. Perfect." He smiled before returning his attention to Chloe, "Please take what you want to bring. The chosen are given guaranteed  2 weeks to stay at the hotel but special enough there's a chance of having up to an entire month extra." The way he spoke was slow-paced as he made sure to pronounce every letter at a time.

"Yes Uhm, can you wait a couple minutes, please? Amber hasn't eaten breakfast yet."

"I'm sorry but we have to go now." His voice raised slightly.

"Great, okay we'll get started then. Amber, go get your things, we're going on a vacation!" Chloe shouted and looked back at her with the biggest smug on her face however when she stepped aside all Amber could focus on was the man's eyes.

"At it." She ran up to her room searching her wardrobe for what to wear.

She walked over to her side table to pick up her phone when she saw something glisten below her. She crouched and lifted the object seeing that it was glass.

Glass?
