8 "It can't be."

"Stop whining…" Amber squeezed the cloth of warm water and gently applied it to Arveion's bleeding lip.

"Tsk…" He groaned, his red plump lips parted.

Amber took a chance to glare at him once his eyes were closed, she knew he was an angel so it made sense, but still she just always had to say it. The man was beautiful! Like smoking!

For whatever reason she found herself wanting to touch his pale peach skin. Like it had to be smooth, right?

'I just want to find out…" She lowered her fingers at his cheeks but right before her fingers could touch his skin, Arveion's eyes blinked open and he rapidly caught her wrist in a stronghold.

"Don't touch me!" He breathed and pushed her hands away.

Amber's cheeks flushed with embarrassment and she withdrew her hand, rubbing it with her other. 'That's for being a nosy bitch.'

"I'm sorry." She dipped the cloth again and passed it along his sharp jawline. The guy was perfect.

The silence was unbearable and could be cut with a knife. She had to say something, being her nosy self again.

"So Uhm...you're an angel?"

'He had freaking white wings, of course, he is an angel, what more proof do you need?' She internally socked herself for asking such a stupid question.

"Mm-hm." He nodded, not even bothering to open his eyes. He was sitting on the couch with his back relaxed and two hands propping him up behind his neck. "I thought that would be obvious, guessing you act so smart...  "

Amber pressed the cloth down harder under his eyes, purposely and when he winced she simply smiled and fakely apologized.

"And I thought you would be stronger."  She gave a comeback.

He nodded, "I don't judge you for saying that, I mean you're right. After all, I did have to fight off countless demons before I could get here. Angels' abilities are also limited once through the portal and here on Earth for whatever reason."

"Oh…" she bit her lip, trying to stop herself from asking the next question, "S-so that guy, he...k…"

"Killed my brother, yes. I believe he did." His voice hinted no emotion but though he didn't show she could still tell that he was angry. Hurting.

"I'm—"

"No," He stopped her, "Davis wouldn't want you apologizing on his behalf, he died for what he believed was right, he died doing what he enjoyed doing and I'll make sure it was a good cause."

"Woah." Was all she could say, the way he spoke was so pleasing and calming to listen to and she could tell that he dearly loved his brother.

She lifted the first aid to her lap and pulled out a bandage sticking it on the cut on his nose bridge.

"Your face is all done, now your—" She gulped, her eyes trailing down his stomach," abs."

"Okay."

She already dealt with the more important injuries on his body such as cleaning and bandaging his waist and his arm and now she was dealing with the bruises. Her mother was a doctor so there was always a first in the house, she was taught how to treat from the little to biggest sizes of cuts.

At Least now she knows where it came in handy.

He had told her that it wasn't important but she insisted, besides it was giving her extra time to ask questions about what the hell had just happened?!

The water was now red with blood when he dipped the cloth again.

"About what happened—" She slowly passed the cloth through the lines in his abs. They were so hard. "If you're an angel, what was that cloaked man back there? How do you two know each other? Why was he here? And what does he want—"

"Woah, slow down, a question at a time." Arveion said and she nodded, "Sorry."

She deserved to go on a rant though, that man threatened to kill her, carry her to hell and back, and assaulted her more times to count.

"—That cloak man you saw was a demon known as Death, the angel of Death, reaper, people called him many things though no one had decided on his actual name or identity, knowing him he probably told you this already but he is not a person you can simply mess with and make it out alive to tell the tale, Death shows you things, makes it as comparing reality to a nightmare and just as his name he brings Death to everyone in his way…my brother Davis for example and many more. There are tombstones to all."

"And how do you know him?" Amber asked, curious to hear more.

"That's not a story I vaguely tell or like going in-depth with but we knew each one time, we were close, but one day, he just came back different and that's how this death thing began. He came back with a cloak, and like a whole new person. Someone I couldn't pinpoint. I believe he was here for something I too am after. Though I don't know what he wants from you, Miss…"

"Amber...Amber Lane."

"Amber, speaking of that I have to go, I don't know why he left, knowing him, he wouldn't leave without finding it, maybe he  didn't think it was here anymore—"

"What isn't here anymore?"

Arveion got up from the chair,"—But I sense its power though, did he not?" Arvieon started pacing around the house.

"Arveion?"  Amber asked, watching as he looked in the kitchen draws.

"Thank you very much for your acquaintance Amber, but can I ask you where you're keeping it now. Are you a collector witch? Are you hiding it?"  He walked up to her and lifted her chin up with his finger, his eyes now serious and burning with anger.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"Don't be fucking stupid now, where is it?" She had to be hiding it somewhere, the Goddess said it was a girl who held the source, the power to save the world. To save them. For a great power described as that she had to be a witch.

A switcher maybe. Hiding in human form.

"You really are a great pretender, but I know witches like you, sly and cunning. I didn't want to do this nor do I understand why you helped me but I can't say I didn't take advantage of the situation. Thank you for the help. I do appreciate it, that's why it would be too bad having to kill you."

"K-kill me?" Amber asked, shocked at the turn of events and the angel's change in mood,"What the hell are you talking about? Did those injuries interfere with your brain because it's either  you forgot or is having after effects, I just cleaned your god damned blood!"

"Hm, so that's what you're going to play at, huh? Well you're going to find it, or I'll make you shit it out myself!" Arvieon grabbed her wrist and led her upstairs.

"Start looking." He pushed her and she fell on her knees.

"What am I supposed to be looking for?" She looked up at him and he started to ransack her room.

Pulling off her bedsheets, breaking perfume bottles, going through her clothes, checking behind her wardrobe, and even broke one of her family photos. One she kept because it was important to her.

A picture of her and her family at the lake—she just decided to keep that specific one, feeling attached to it.

Amber reached for the frame and took out the picture, hugging it close to her chest.

"Fuck!" Arveion pulled his hair, he trashed the entire room but still found nothing, "My brother died for that thing and was given instructions to protect you because of the power you hold but now I'm just more convinced that I should kill you." He picked her up by her hair and pushed her down the stairs, "What do you say, witch, are you doing to reveal it to me or not?"

He kicked her again and this time he hit her head against the wooden stairs, blood going down to her eyes. "I'm really angry right now so this may not end well."

"I know that your brother is dead, but please, please know that I have nothing to do with none of this. I want to help you, I do just—"

He kicked her, this time the entire flight of stairs. Amber groaned when her back slammed against the floor, and she tried getting up but Arveion arrived before her and gripped a handful of her hair, pushing her up to the wall and bringing a piece of glass over his head.

"The way to kill a witch is by her neck."

Amber eyes were watering as she pleaded, dodging his hands."Please, I don't know what you're talking about. I can't help you if you keep saying 'it's different conflicts require different approaches and right now I'm telling you that I do know what you're about, and if you'll hear me out maybe, just maybe I'll convince you Arveion—" She looked directly into his eyes and for a second he saw a bright light, like a wildfire. The sternness in her voice caused him to stop, it was as though his head was screaming at him to do it but he just couldn't make a move.

"I do not know what you're talking about."

He gazed into her eyes, her gaze almost demanded him to listen, they were enchanting but it was quickly back to normal. His hand stayed at her neck for a while before he haltered it to his side and dropped the glass.

Arveion took a step back, "It can't be, you're it, you're the source? No, but you're...it's all leading to you, the signals, the waves and you are...human. You're a human girl, this has to be a mistake…"

"What are we talking about?" Amber asked, concerned by how he was reacting.

"That means you were telling the truth...I-I'm...I apologize for my inconvenience, Amber. Thank you for your help but I can't let you know of this until everything is clear. Until we find out what to make of this situation."

"I'm confused, why are you talking like that, until what is clear? Arveion—"

Arveion then place two fingers on her forehead, making circles," March, 21st 2017 at approximately 10:45 p.m did not exist at your eyes can tell, this day did not happen meaning you will have no memory of it ever happening—" He had to do it fast, "Amber Lane, you do not know my face, you will have a redo of this day as if it never happened, you will wake up as if it's a normal day—No reason whatsoever will you have to remember today. See you next time Amber from here we never met"

Amber's eyelids closed and he caught her in his arms, lifting her over his shoulder and up the stairs to her room. He placed her on her bed and covered her, "Goodnight Amber, and thank you."

With that, he closed her door behind him and clapped his hand, "Rewind." Was all he said and with that, as he walked down the stairs everything fixed around him, from the roof, the glass, her room, the door,  it all went untouched like nothing ever happened.
