3 The Night Sky Tells All

The sky once again became silent and dark but lit by stars and not a moment passed by for her that seemed endless. The young lass was just watching the sparks of the fire and the sound of its crackling when something made a pop sound. She turned to look the casket but wasn't surprised that it didn't even flinch or made a noise. She was convinced it was just the fire and retired for the night, wasting away with the wine she took from Eudora.

"He misses me. He misses me not.", Vale said repeatedly while plucking the petals of a white rose one by one. He was sitting at the edge of the wall looking to what seemed to be one of the most beautiful sunsets in the Land Of Dawn, but he felt nothing at all satisfied. "You mean she.", Harith cut in. "Yes, she too. But, for now just Valir. I feel there's something off as I keep having these reoccurring memories as dreams. I just wanted to know if he has any evil attention."

"So much of being a royal.", Harith joked.

Vale just stared at him and hummed then continued plucking the petals. "Creep.", Harith muttered before leaving. "It's not like you know anything about love anyway, midget."

"Say that again and I'll send you back to the very beginning of when the world began.", Harith said his demeanour turned ice cold.

"And what if I did? It's not like you would care would you? Nana, she-"

"Shut up!", Harith said as he slapped Vale, eyes with rage. He hadn't felt that in a long time but it was no stranger to him. "Sorry, I was just too sensitive."

"No. What you did was right. You proved me wrong. You should do that more sometimes.", Vale cutting him off as turned his head back to face him. Then, he smiled and leaned back to let himself fall off the wall allowing the air friction to hit his face many times before it wake him up before he flew off to somewhere only he knew.

Esmeralda opened her eyes to what seemed like the sounds of hooves pounding rapidly on the ground but it didn't seem right to her and she was right. When she looked forward she could see the ground rumbling and stones quaking. Standing up didn't do any good as it threw her off balance. She couldn't do anything but crawl next to the casket and she watched as the earth beneath her crack open and and swallowing everything in sight. She thought the disaster had passed by when it all stop but was she dead wrong. When she looked up, the sky was darkish black with swirling patterns acummulating at what could be the centre of unknown pillars of dust and sand. Her heart was racing because the only thing that ran through her mind wasn't at all good. She quickly picked up her pace and strapped the casket to her back and ran. She didn't have time to look back, there was no reason to. But to no avail, the sandstorms caught up.

Then all of a sudden, the Starmoon Casket opened and a stream of power fills her. The sandstorm disperses as she gasped at the feeling like she was on fire, but cool at the same time. Like a bright warm star reborn in the cold dark space. She felt as if she was flying but she looked down and saw she was just a few feet above ground. Her eyes were lit; her body glowed; it was not like anything she had ever felt but she felt safe. But power wasn't the only thing it brought; a crystal ball appeared too and before she knew it, her mouth began to utter words she didn't know, "Elf of Stars and Night, give me a revelation. The ominous seven stars, what do they portend?"

"It's hidden in this crystal ball.", a voice like hers said. In the next instance, she opened her eyes among a group of hooded men. Though it was an unknown place, Esmeralda knew who the people standing in front of her talking to each other. The tyrant and an elder as seen in the murals of her hometown. "Is this... the Tribe of Astrologers?", she questioned but no one answered. Then, the elder spoke, "Get out of here. We will not help prophesy anything for a tyrant like you.", with much knowledge of what would happen next. "Then die here.", the young man shouted. The soldiers around heeded his orders and began the onslaught. Cries of pain and bloodshed were heard and seen as fire raged, engulfing people and buildings with it. Esmeralda watched as her angle of view changed into a little girl's and in her hand she clutched a dead body to her side. It wasn't long before a dark figure walked to her side who glanced at her and stuck his hand out to her. She knew he wasn't at all good but still took his hand and let him lead her out of the fiery pits in return as her other hand held a knife to her back. The scene changes as she catches a glance of two large statues of ancient gods carved at both sides of an arched gate. At the next instance, he was telling her his stories and the one after was him teaching her all that he knew. As the more time they spent together the more memories they were. Esmeralda continued to watch as her view continued to change continuously nonstop and she felt like breaking apart as she catches hold of the last memory of the tyrant calling out for her name, before her sight blurred from her tears which ended it all. As the last light filled her, Esmeralda fell from suspension, gasping and processing what had just happened with tears streaking down her face before she opened her mouth and uttered a sentence, "It's time to draw an end between us Khufra."
