10 Your Neighbor

"Oh and where did you get that outfit from," she asked.

I told her "a good friend bought it for me."

Her eyes light, "is it a guy friend?"

I began to blush unintentionally and responded, "I know what your getting at, but it's just a friend."

Wiggling her eyebrows at me she said, "your blushing, now I know it's definitely a guy 'friend.' Just remember rebound relationships make you feel better about yourself but they never last."

"I know that and I've only known him for a couple of days now." More like two.

The realization hit me, when Emilia burst into a huge smile. I just confirmed it was a guy. As Emilia began pestering about who, what, when, and how I met this guy.

RING. RING.

It was Emilia's phone ringing, she picked up and her angry face quickly turned to happy.

"I got to take this," she said and ran out of the room.

Looks like someone found herself a boyfriend. Good for her, and here I was moping around, probably ruining her mood.

DING. DONG. DING. DONG.

The doorbell began to ring, but I could still hear her upstairs giggling, so I went to answer the door.

"Coming" I screamed.

Not looking through the peephole, I opened the door, to my surprise, making eye contact, stood towering over me was the face I couldn't forget, my savior blond-haired guy. Before, I knew it I slammed the door in his face. Wait a minute, how did he find me here? Is he a stalker? Does he want the money now? Hearing the doorbell ring again, I opened the door and charged into him like a bull. Moving back a little, I could tell he hadn't moved much and he held a box in one hand.

"Is this how you greet your new neighbor?," he asked.

"New neighbor? Didn't you come here, for me?," I stated questionaly.

He chuckled, "I'm sorry have we met somewhere?"

"How could you forget, we met the other night?" I exclaimed.

"I assure you I haven't seen you before, as I have just come from abroad," he replied.

Astonished, I replied, "what game are you trying to play?"

"I am not a guy who has time to play games," he said.

"So I'm the crazy one? Don't you remember what happened in the alley," I asked.

Then in a matter of seconds, his lips had shut mine.

Knocked speechless and blushing, he whispered in my ear, "some things are just meant to be forgotten and never mentioned," and moved back.

"Hey Mina, who was at the door?," Emilia asked walking down the stairs.

At that moment, I scurried back inside the house.

"Um, you have a new neighbor," I said trying to act normal.

When she got to the door, "Hello, I'm Emilia, the owner of the house. Nice to meet you."

"I'm Jace, your new neighbors, I came here because your package was in my mailbox," he said, as they shook hands.

"Thanks," Emilia said.

I saw it right in her eyes, she was up to something.

Emilia said, "actually Jace, me and Mina haven't eaten yet, it wouldn't hurt for you to come and eat dinner with us."
