1 Sudden Crisis

"Beep Beep!"

An alarm clock started ringing as new morning had begun. People were already walking on the streets, each of them going to or coming from their jobs.

Then, just as the alarm wanted to beep for another time, a hand reached out and turned it out. The person lying in bed got up and looked through the window.

The person's name is Einar. Today, was Friday but he still stuck to his daily routine of waking up at the exact time as any other day and went out jogging. It just happened that he had no classes today due to an emergency that his professor had so he didn't have to go to school.

He quickly got himself cleaned and changed into his sports clothes and went out. Einar was a person that stuck to the plans he made at the start of each week but due to not having class today, he still didn't mind going to other classes which he wasn't originally a part of.

After jogging for an hour, he decided that it was enough for a day and changed to his uniform and went to the academy. As he arrived, he saw that there were people gathering at one spot. He walked there and looked at what was happening.

"Recruiting potential warriors! No combat experience or specific class required. Everything will be provided as long as you are good at fighting. Only 10 positions are available!" A person was talking in the middle of the group. He was holding some papers in his hands.

"Anyone who wants to sign up can come with me. For the tryouts, you will be given equipment and weapons and will be fighting a boss together with out professional team who will guide you in battle."

Hearing that they had a chance to fight with together with a professional group of fighters many people started exclaiming. As he saw the reactions of people, the man started walking towards a group of cars. Many others followed him, Einar included.

He wasn't really keen on signing a contract with the company as he didn't really want to stand out too much. However, the opportunity of fighting a boss with barely any combat experience was too good.

The students weren't afraid of being cheated as the ones who were doing this was one of the biggest companies of the human race.

Silver Dragon Company

Slowly, all of the cars were filled with people and the drivers slowly drove towards their destination.

After coming to a portal, the group of students exited their cars and couldn't help but feel excited. They had nothing to fear as they will be accompanied by a group of professionals and at the same they would be able to experience fighting a boss.

They all knew that the portal they arrived to was one of the weakest ones and there was barely any danger inside. The only really dangerous thing inside was the boss which was named Rock Golem.

Very soon, a black van arrived at the scene which brought all of the required equipment with it. Many beginner swords, shields and armor were carried out of the van and each of the students who had come here all grabbed the equipment and put it on them.

Some of them grabbed a sword and a shield while others only had either a shield or a sword. Einar only grabbed a sword as he wasn't really a fan of using a shield in combat.

"Ok everyone! Gather here and let me explain how to whole portal clear will proceed."

The man waited for everyone to gather and then continued. "First, let me introduce the members of the professional team that will be coming with us."

He waved his hand and pointed at the five people that were standing near him.

"This is the five member group called Bronze Dragon party. They are all our best members for low-leveled portals and you might even heard of them before."

"Now let me tell you everything in detail." He coughed to get everyone's attention once again. "When everyone will be inside, you can stand aside and just watch or help with killing the weak Earth Golems that are roaming around the area. Of course, if you help, you will have a bigger chance of getting chosen for the team. Then as everyone will be proceeding deeper into the dungeon, we will soon meet the boss. When that happens, everyone should stop fighting and just watch Bronze Dragon party kill it as trying to help them will only make it worse for everyone."

"Are we clear about the rules?" He looked at every student who was here and waited for their answer. After getting assured about it, everyone went inside.

Luckily this portal had no participant limit or else such a thing wouldn't be possible to do.

Inside, everyone looked around. It was the first portal dive for the new students and some were a bit dizzy due to the portal teleportation. There was only a few students who already experienced portal diving and were already used to such situation but still couldn't help but look around.

Although it was the lowest level of a portal, it was still a portal and monster roamed around. After seeing that everyone had mostly recovered, the five man party led others deeper into the cave while killing the Earth Golems and intentionally letting some of them pass by to let the students take care of them as to see their ability.

Seeing some of the golems pass by the five man party, a lot of the students who weren't used to such situations quickly retreated in fear. Only a few students went forward and took care of the golems that were remaining.

The man who was originally recruiting them stood at the back and carefully watched students who were fighting. He carefully checked their names and wrote their names on the list while he didn't even bother to look at others.

Einar was with those students who retreated but he wasn't scared of the monsters. Although it was his first time portal diving, he was still sure that he could easily take care of an Earth Golem but as to not get on the list of people, he made sure to stand back and let others take care of the monsters.

A few hours have passed and finally, the group had reached the boss.

"Ok, everyone. Act according to the plan."

All of the students quickly retreated while the five man party attacked the golem. Originally the golem was strong and had strong defense but with its slow speed, as long as one didn't get hit by any of its punches, it was easy to defeat it.

Bronze Dragon party had already destroyed quite a bit of the Rock Golem's parts but the boss could still move as it didn't have any bones or muscles.

But then, something unexpected happened. The boss's legs suddenly broke out of nowhere and thus its balance was broken and it began falling down. There, at the exact spot where it would fall, three members of the five man party were and before they could react the boss's body had already fallen on them and crushed them to death.

The other two who were alive just happened to be one with a healer occupation and another one with a guardian occupation. They didn't have much attack power and such they weren't able to deal any damage to the boss.

They looked around at the students and asked for help.

Seeing what happened to the three people who died, the students didn't want to fight the boss and even if they did, they could barely do any damage to it.

'This really isn't my day.' Einar sighed. He stepped out with a sword in his hand and looked at the two other people who also stepped out at the same time. The other two also looked at each other and as Einar.

All three of them each held a sword in their hands and ran to the two remaining members of the party. "You two stay there and healer use all support spells you have on the three of us." One of the two students who were there said.

The healer nodded and quickly cast a support spell. All three of them could feel their strength rise by a bit but it wasn't by much. Still, it was better than nothing.

"I'll get its legs while you two each take care of its hands. Watch out for its second phase when it arrived." Einar and the other student nodded and all three of them rushed towards the boss.

With three different parts being attacked, the boss didn't know which of the three to focus and it just started flailing its limbs all over the place. Luckily, it didn't have another leg otherwise everything would be harder to do.

All three students, including Einar, were very good in combat and their teamwork was flawless even if it was their first time fighting together. The boss's parts were slowly chipped away until its arms weren't very thick anymore.

Then, the boss entered its second phase.

It raised its head up and roared. The sky had darkened and rocks appeared in the sky. One by one, those rocks started falling around the golem, some aiming at the spots where the three students were standing.

Still, as long as they all moved, nobody would be hit as it was quite easy to predict where they will fall.

Only after more than 30 rocks had fallen from the sky did the sky light up again and rocks stopped appearing. The boss was now free to be attacked and the three students did exactly that.

A few tens of minutes passed and only then did the boss finally die. Seeing this, everyone heaved a sigh of relief. A little bit away from where the boss was defeated, a portal exit appeared and everyone was able to exit this place.

Bzzt!

Einar felt his phone vibrate but didn't take a look as he was physically and mentally tired due to the battle and couldn't care less about his phone right now. All he did was walk to the exit without looking at what the boss had dropped.
