31 Wanted

Dante studied the poster in his hands and was quite surprised.

Wanted:known names Dante, dead or alive

Reward: $1,000,000

"It's just like the movies." Dante thought with a grim smile as he looked at the three year old sketch of him. Crumpling the paper into his pocket. "Dead or alive must be one of my family 'friends' since I would hope my family wants me alive." Dante began going through all the different scenarios inside his mind and concluded that the logical choice would be an enemy since being kidnapped wasn't his fault.

"See something you like?" Poppy asked.

"Just a poster of an old friend." Dante shrugged. "Are we nearly there yet?" He questioned changing the subject.

"Yup it's just over there." Poppy said pointing to a cafe.

The pair walked over to the small cafe. It was a marvelous cafe for the environment it was in and a some what decent looking cafe even if it was in the city center with the pure white walls and a dark wooden door with an open sign. The cafe had two large windows in which Dante could see a cozy area for people to sit with a light varnished wooden floor, chairs and an array of tables with a sofa area in the right hand corner. The counter was in the left being manned by a young waiter.

"What's a nice looking cafe doing in a dirty street like this?" Dante wondered aloud as six children the looks of twelve to fourteen carrying a mix of lead pipes, spiked baseball bats and other various make shift weapons stood up from the two sides of the street.

The six children slowly formed a semi circle around the duo. "Hey Poppy who do I need to talk too?." Dante asked ignoring the menacing glares.

"Your probably going to want to talk to Corvo Scaletta he's the ah big man around here." Poppy replied nervously.

"Alright." Dante said looking over at the jittery Poppy he slapped Poppy's back. "Relax will ya, you just got to watch out for the guy with the tomahawk he seems the most pissed at the moment." Dante chuckled as he looked at the boy who was glaring even more furiously.

"What do you fuckers want?" The tomahawk kid angrily said through gritted teeth. Dante started down the boy taking in every detail the furrowed brow, dark blonde hair in a long buzz cut and dark blue eyes in between a snub nose with flaring nostrils on his fresh face.

"I want you to run to Corvo or who ever the fuck is in charge and tell them I have business for them." Dante said slowly as he put his hands behind his back rocking back and forth on the balls of his feet. As adrenaline began pumping through his blood as he felt the familiar heat course through his chest and the blood rush to his cheeks. As he started tapping his fingers feeling the excessive amount of energy he leaned in to Poppy and whispered "If any of them decide to start fighting just run and don't look back." Dante leaned back into his original position keeping his eye on the boy with the tomahawk.

"So what is it going to be gentleman?" Dante said starting to get impatient with the silence.

"Bobby go get Corvo."

A boy further back got up and started to run inside the cafe Dante watched him go until the door closed behind him.

"Poppy tell me more about what kind of a person Corvo is."

"Right now? Are you sure? Seems a bit too late if I'm being honest." Poppy asked hesitantly.

"Now is a better time than any since they can say what's true and what isn't." Dante said pointing at the people in front of them.

"Alright Corvo Scaletta is know as the merchant of death on the streets a shrewd, ruthless businessman with a grudge against the Rosetta family."

"Sounds interesting." Dante thought "anything else?"

"He's also been known to be a bit of a play-."

"Well hello there my fair maiden, you would look so beautiful under the moonlight and stars so why don't you keep me company till nightfall?" Dante looked over to where the voice was coming from to see a devilishly handsome boy with very fine features his light brown eyes held warmth as did his smile as he walked confidently through the parted group. His ebony hair in a long tailored crew cut made him look more refined especially in the white pinstripe shirt and black waistcoat. "Corvo Scaletta." The boy said offering his hand to Poppy.

"Play boy." Poppy finished with a expression of disgust and annoyance.

"I see." Dante muttered before he grabbed Corvo's out stretched hand . "Lucifer and Mister Scaletta we are here for business not a blind date with my tour guide." Dante said curtly.

"Ah I see already taken." Corvo said with a wink before turning slightly more serious. "well then what business have you got to discuss with me?"

"It could be said that you and the silver lions are in a rivalry?"

"One could say that." Corvo said cryptically.

"Well I have just thinned out some of the competition." Dante stated handing Corvo a slightly blood soaked empty wallet.

"Which poor soul did this wallet belong too?" Corvo asked.

"Andrew Furton." Dante answered.

"Holy shit no wonder you came to me." Corvo muttered. "Where is the money from the wallet?"

Dante made a show of patting his pockets and said with a hidden smile "to the victor got the spoils right?"

Corvo chuckled "I guess that's ok."

"Great now I woul-." Before Dante could finish he was suddenly pushed to the ground. Falling to the ground with a clatter as he rolled on the pavement he could just barely hear the thinking sound of something burying itself in something wooden. As he looked up he saw everyone stare at the kid with the tomahawks with disbelief. Then as everyone was watching him as something flew through the air and landed with a thump on his chest. As he fell down everyone could see a tomahawk sticking out of his chest.

Dante quickly scrambled to his feet and watched as Poppy ran to the dying boy and violently ripped the tomahawk from his chest and began hacking into the boys skull. Even after he died Poppy kept mutilating the corpse until his own mother wouldn't recognize him.

Rushing forwards Dante snapped everyone out of their stupor by shouting "Poppy that's enough!"

Poppy looked over everything covered in blood the fine cute features turned demonic with the splatters of blood. Reaching down Poppy grabbed the holsters for the two Tomahawks whilst saying eerily. "To the victor go the spoils right?"

Silence reined for a couple of minutes until Poppy finished tightening the belt with the holsters then all hell broke loose.

"Mat!" Someone screamed.

"Kill them!" Another shouted.

"Blood for blood!"

"Everybody shut the fuck up!" Corvo commanded. Everyone looked a Corvo majority with anger and a desire for vengeance. Whilst one with a mask looked like the calm before a storm and another with a zeal to do battle.

"Now Mat is the one in the wrong he struck first we all saw it." Corvo spoke softly but it seemed so resound off the walls. "The question is why and I think I've worked it out he attacked when the wallet was shown can everyone agree on this?"

Everyone nodded since it was an irrefutable fact.

"So he was probably friends with Andrew Furton and wanted to avenge him." Corvo concluded solemnly.

"So you have some fleas in your rat pack." Dante said with a serious tone.

"So it would seem Let's carry this conversation on inside away from the smell." Corvo said walking towards the cafe door he said over his shoulder "everyone else clean this mess up and get back to work."

Dante and Poppy followed the boy inside who was now emitting a very blood thirsty and dangerous atmosphere.
