7 Revenge Begins

Reorganizing his plan in his head, Boruto went back downstairs to greet everyone who was already up.

Naruto was laying on the couch, reading a book called True Face Of Hokage, that was lent to him by Kakashi. He immediately noticed his son and greeted him. "Yo, morning, Boruto."

"Mornin, old man, where are mom and Hima?"

"A-Ah, I am an old man now, huh...Even I feel hurt when you call me like that. I am not that old, Boruto. You've been calling me that for years already, dattebayo! Ah, it slipped..."

"Hokage in the making, by the way." Boruto gave him a grin to which Naruto only sighed in desperation.

"Don't tease me! Shouldn't you be happy that your father is about to become one? It's an honor to receive such a position. I've always dreamed of it. I am studying a lot too and that's something I've always hat-... Something I've always liked and excelled at, as I was one of the most powerful and smartest ninjas there ever was." Naruto almost blurted out something he didn't want to.

He didn't want his son to know how dumb he was back when he was in the academy. He was afraid that if Boruto knew that, he wouldn't try at all either and end up academically just like him.

"Yeah, right."

Boruto replied as he took a bottle of milk out of the fridge.

'Ah...something tells me my son doesn't believe me, I guess I can't lie dattebayo...'

He scratched his head and continued with the talk, "Oh, by the way, mom went shopping and Hima is still asleep. I guess it's just two of us now. So...Like...Wanna play something?" Naruto never had a father, or a family at all, so he wasn't quite sure how to interact with his family yet, his daughter was fine, he could somehow manage her with the help of Hinata, but his son was a tough nut to crack.

He had absolutely no idea what his son liked, other than running around and playing games. He felt like he was pathetic not to know.

'I am failing as a father figure...I need to step up my game dattebayo.'

Boruto widened his eyes and a small smile formed on his lips.

"Do you even have time to play, dear future Hokage-sama? I heard that you were busy."

When Naruto heard his nickname, he just grabbed his head and mumbled. "Not you too...Everyone is making fun of me lately...dattebayooo..."

"Hehe..."

Boruto sat down next to him and tried to look as confused as possible.

Naruto noticed his expression and couldn't help but ask. "What's wrong, did something happen? You don't look too good."

Boruto didn't speak for a bit, he did that to make sure Naruto understood that he was going to talk about something serious.

'Something had to have happened. Should I ask him again, or should I not pry into it...Come on! Father instincts, kick in! Tell me what to do!' Naruto internally screamed but decided to wait for him to start talking.

After he made sure that Naruto was listening closely, Boruto opened his mouth and dropped a bombshell, "...I had a really weird dream last night...It was a wild ride...There was a guy, that called himself Toneri Otsutsuki. He told me to tell you that you should train more, together with someone called Uchiha Sasuke, because apparently, a great threat is on the way and you shouldn't waste time. I guess there is no stopping to my imagination anymore."

*Bump!*

Naruto dropped the book he was holding on the ground and placed both of his hands on Boruto's shoulders. He looked into his eyes, making Boruto a little bit uncomfortable, as he was basically lying to him.

"Boruto...Did the man...say anything else? Please, tell me. I need to know the details. This is a serious issue. Any kind of information will help." He shook him a bit, making Boruto's head spin.

Looking into his serious eyes, Boruto sadly sighed.

'Ah how I wish to tell you everything, but it's impossible. You wouldn't believe me and would definitely find me suspicious if I told you everything about the future. I also can't let you see my memories, or else you will find out what I did and what I am planning and you would be definitely against it...But I guess it wouldn't hurt to let him know a bit so that he can be prepared for it.'

"Old man, stop shaking me, please..."

Naruto did as he was told and patiently listened. This kind of information was bound to be extremely valuable to battle against potential foes. In fact, his best friend Sasuke has been trailing Kaguya's remains and her dimensions all around the world, making sure something terrible wouldn't happen to the village, and all villages overall.

Naruto trusted him fully, as not only did his son tell him the name of an Otsutsuki whose name he couldn't possibly have known, he also mentioned Sasuke, despite never meeting him or his daughter. He only met with Sakura, but she is very secretive when it comes to Sasuke and she doesn't even say anything to her own daughter.

It took him a while but he gradually remembered that Toneri told him he would contact them somehow if a great calamity was on its way, but he never would have thought that it would be through his son's dreams.

"So... it's like this. He didn't say much, only one thing. In 8 years, during chunin exams, it's almost certain that the enemy from a different world will attack and try to extract the nine tails fox out of you. He also said that before extracting your tailed beast, they would capture other tailed beasts, in order from one to nine." He peeked at Naruto's face and to no surprise, he was shocked by the revelation.

Something like this was hard to swallow, but Naruto couldn't take chances and believed in him fully.

"..."

"Old man?"

"..."

"Am I...going crazy?"

Naruto finally lifted his head up to look at his confused son.

"Don't worry. It's alright. The man that you met is one of our allies and he means us no harm, quite the contrary. From the context, it meant that he used some kind of Jutsu to see into the future so that he can help us prevent it. I am just worried about what kind of price he paid for gazing into the unknown future."

'His lifespan shortened but it's not like it matters all that much considering his lifespan exceeds ours by a huge margin.' Boruto thought but didn't say it out loud.

Naruto hugged his son and said. "Thanks, Boruto. This will really help us. I am truly grateful."

Boruto didn't expect the hug and wasn't sure what to do. It's been years ever since his father showed any kind of affection to him, if not decades. Heck, he didn't even hug him in this new life yet. They were always really distant towards each other, so he made up his mind that he would use this chance that might never ever appear again and hugged him back.

"Mhm...no problem..."

***

After things calmed down, Naruto visited Kakashi and told him about the potential threat, and after that, he sent a message via hawk to Sasuke.

Hopefully, he would arrive as soon as possible so that they can form a battle plan. There is still a lot of time before the attack happens but it's best to be prepared for everything.

The day quickly passed by and the dark sky arrived.

***

Deep inside of a forest at night.

Boruto could be seen standing on top of a pond, a faint blue light began emitting from his right eye. The blue lightning that was emitted from it, was flickering all around the pond, disrupting the balance of water.

'It's still too early for me to use this. Hiraishin is a better way of transportation, but I didn't leave any mark at the place I am going to and I am too lazy to get there on foot. I might as well use it.'

His right eye pulsated, generating waves of chakra all around him, invisible to the naked eyes. The power beyond all of humanity is being used as a simple tool of travel to a nearby location.

'I need to absorb Momoshiki's power to enhance the power of my eye. I would also have to get rid of his reincarnation vessel again. I need the help of Orochimaru for that. But it's too early. I still have time.'

Boruto created a few clones so that they can spar with each other and murmured.

'It's time for a short visit, traitors.'

Shortly after, a black sphere portal opened and Boruto was gone from the place.

***

Boruto reappeared in the village on top of a certain building.

'Luckily, I still remember the coordinates of the building. But it's only because I bought flowers for the old man's funeral in here.'

He stepped down from the roof and entered the Yamanaka flower shop from behind.

'At this time, only she should be in here.'

Once he entered, he saw the person in question. Ino Yamanaka.

She was preparing flowers into a basket, unaware of a murderer creeping behind her.

'Chakra no Mesu.' Boruto mumbled as he approached her from behind, two chakra blades formed on both of his hands.

He learned this technique from Kabuto, who used to be a combat medic ninja. At this time, he is running a nearby orphanage.

Although Boruto learned how to use this as an offensive weapon, he doesn't dare to use it in surgeries or anatomical dissections as his knowledge of medical ninjutsu is close to zero.

Still, Boruto never perfected this Jutsu as he can only accurately cut tendons and muscle tissues with it.

'Master Kabuto could accurately pinpoint a worm, hiding inside of a bark of a tree, then accurately get rid of it without even as much as touching the surface of the tree. I am not on that level, but for me, it's enough to incapacitate someone without killing them.'

He touched Ino's left calf, making her stumble and drop the flowers on the ground. She felt a stinging pain in her leg and fell on her knees. Boruto grabbed a kunai from his pocket and held it against her neck so that she would somewhat understand the situation she was in.

All of this happened in a second and Ino wasn't able to react.

'W-Who are you?! What do you want from me?!" Ino asked in an anxious voice. She was clearly shaken by the sudden attack of an unknown enemy.

"As long as you comply with my request, nothing will happen to you or your family."

Ino shuddered and nodded.

'He sounds young...I can take control of him If I can hit him with the Mind Transfer Jutsu. I am sure he won't be able to defend himself.' She sneakily did the hand sign with both of her hands and waited for an opportunity to turn around and get him.

'Here goes nothing.'

Ino turned around and successfully hit her target, catching him off guard.

'Yes! I got him! Wait...something is wrong...'

She celebrated too early as her mind returned back into her body.

Suddenly, she felt a lump form in her throat. It was blood. She knelt on the ground and vomited pure blood.

'How...am I feeling a backlash from using the Mind Transfer Jutsu?! I am sure it had to have hit him! There is no way I missed!'

She looked at the silhouette in front of her and widened her eyes once she found out who it was.

"You are...Naruto's son?! But how?!"

Boruto slowly walked up to her and stomped on her left calf.

"Argh!" Ino rolled around in pain as he increased the pressure on her.

"Let me say it again, as I don't feel like you've heard me properly. You will do as I say, or else something bad will happen to all of your relatives, including yourself. Did you catch all of that?"
