7 Chapter 7

I admit the Lifetime movie sucked me in. The movie was about a girl that was raped by a high school jock and how it affected her entire family. I sat beside Armin on my couch and shared his martini. Eventually, I had to fetch the bottle of vodka, vermouth, and a lemon from the kitchen. I made drinks in front of the flat-screen for us while glued to the movie.

Once the movie had ended, we were half-blitzed, both of us positioned on either sides of my sofa. I said to him, “About this wedding I have to attend. I need to ask you something.”

“I’m listening,” he replied with a serious face, which consisted of interested eyes and pursed lips. His martini was solid in his right hand and he didn't have a cigarette this time to prove his arrogance.

“Just…I want to have your permission to take him as my guest.”

Armin rolled his eyes.

“I want you to think about it. I don’t need to know until tomorrow.”

“What about your on-line ad?”

“Those guys creep me out.”
