14 Peace and Quiet

...Kati POV...

I have become used to waking up next to Sebastian in the morning. Looking at him, all I can see is perfection. His beautiful brown eyes that can see straight into your soul. His head perfect of messed up hair and chiseled jaw. His warm smile is a perfect complement to his face. Every toned inch of his body is mine to hold. I love him.

But he hogs the bed. He is spread over every inch of the bed, including my body.

"Sebastian."

"Yes?"

"Wake up."

"Why?"

"You all over the bed. You are all over me."

He looks at me with a cocky smile forming at the corner of his lips, "But I thought you liked it?"

"Like what?"

"Me being all over you."

"I do…No, I don't…Just stop it."

Then that cocky little smile turns into a tease; he knows exactly what he is doing to me, and he loves every second, "You look a bit flustered."

"It's your fault."

"Just come back to bed."

"Are you going to behave?"

"Get into bed, and I will let you know."

But of course, the man does not know the definition of behave, for as soon as I climb under the covers, his hand starts to wonder.

"Sebastian, I am going to cut that hand off."

"But then I can't touch you."

"That's the point."

"I still have another hand."

"I will cut it off too."

"Then how can I do this?"

I feel as he slides his hands down the contours of my body, he runs them over my waist, and then he cups my bum cheeks in his hand and gently squeezes them. He grabs me in such a way that my body squirms, and all I can do is but scream out his name, "Sebastian!"

"Kati! Where are your panties?"

"I'm not wearing any."

"Yes, I can feel so."

And then, I finally manage to get out of his grip. Then much to his own shock, I slide my leg over him and get on top.

"Kati, what are you doing?"

"What does it look like? I'm all over you now. Do you like being hogged?"

"Yes, I do. Kati, do you think you can be quiet?"

"Quiet for what?"

"For what I am about to do."

"Sebastian!"

.....Sebastian's POV.....

Kati has gone back to sleep. She is the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen. Her blue eyes are as calm as the river water. The softest lips frame the warmest smile. When her hair blows in the wind, you can smell the sweetness of her skin. I love her.

"Hi, my boy. Is Kati still sleeping?"

"Yes, I told her to go back to bed. She was a bit too active this morning."

My mom looks at me as she cringes, "I don't think I want to know."

Instantly I turn as red as the shirt she is wearing, and I feel like climbing into a little hole outside the cabin. But luckily she changes the subject.

"I was thinking that I can make a roast and we can relax outside."

"That's a good idea; it's a lovely day."

"Okay, but we going to have to get supplies."

"It's fine; I can go. Kati wants some of that ice-cream she likes."

"You sure?"

"She is sleeping, and I won't be long."

I don't want to leave Kati alone, but I also don't want mom driving around here alone. I won't be long; they are both okay. It kills me that I have to leave her side, especially after I have promises her that I never will. I am sure that she shall still be sleeping by the time I get back.

So I take the drive up to the little town that is further up the road, but my head keeps on going back to Kati. I need to get in and get back as fast as I can. And as I stop in front of the store, I quickly rush in and find the owner. You can slap me with a loaf of bread, and I will still not know what you would call half of the things on this list. If he helps it will go faster.

"Morning, Sir."

"Morning, son. Anything I can help you with?"

"I need this list of things."

"You up in the cabin there?

"Yes, for a week now."

"You staying long?"

"Not sure yet."

"I will grab these quick for you."

And while I stand and wait for him to get the things my mom wanted, my phone rings. As I look I can see it is my mom, well she would be the only one that will be phoning me anyway or perhaps Kati. So I casually answer.

"Hi, mom. Did you forget something?"

"Sebastian, it's Kati. You better come home now."

"What's wrong?"

"Just come. Hurry up."

My body is overtaken by a fear that is creeping up my spine. This can't be happening. I have not been gone for long. What happened. Is she okay? I will never forgive myself for leaving her alone. I left her. I promised to never leave her.

I am rushing home, not nearly fast enough. Something is wrong with Kati. Something bad has happened. Mom did not say what. But she sounded scared. Kati was okay this morning. She was happy, even too excited. But things have the habit of changing from night to day.

I can't lose her. She can't lose me. I am slowly dying inside just as much as she is. I am tired, but Kati is even more. How can you have something so cruel that tosses you inside out and turn you into nothing at all. How can you tear apart two people that love each other so much?

I barely park the car, leaving the engine running. I dash to the front door. My fumbles feet as I skip the steps and burst the door open.

"What's wrong? Where is she?"

"Sebastian sweety."

"Mom, where is she?!"

I run to the bedroom. She is not in bed. I check the bathroom. She is not there. There is blood. Blood everywhere. In the shower, in the basin. A towel next to the bed. Her favorite flower dress too. Just so much blood. I scream out her name. I am crying so loud you can hardly hear the birds sing

"Mom, where is she?!"

"If you let me talk for one second. She is outside under the tree."

I burst out the front door again. The distance to the tree is far too long. I can't run fast enough; my knees feel weak. I can't stop now. I am almost there. I am almost at Kati.

I brace myself. I do not know what to expect. I am prepared. I have played this over and over so many times before.

"Kati! Kati!"

"Please, no!"

Kati sticks her head out around the tree. My heart feels better, but only a bit. I do not know what's wrong yet. But I am relieved that she is alive. I kneel down and take the woman I love into my arms

"Kati, my angel. What is wrong?"

"I could not stop. It did not want to stop. The hot chocolate made me sick. I got really sick. It felt like my insides came out. It was so sore. And I could not find you."

"Oh, sweety, I am here now. I'm sorry I left you. I will never leave you again."

She snuggles up deeper into my embrace; she rests her head on my chest. I can smell the sweet honey shampoo that lingers in her hair. Then I hear her softly whisper.

"I don't know what I would do if you ever leave."

"I would never leave you, Kati; I promise I would never do it again. But sweety, why are you sitting under the tree?"

"I wanted peace and quiet. You said when you die, you want peace and quiet. I just wanted peace and quiet."

"Kati. You are not dying. I will find a miracle for you. You are not dying."
