14 Goblin Chieftain

Three Hundred beady black eyes swiveled towards Avril and Bain as they walked into the rusty hinged door. Avril looked at the goblin horde that had amassed itself within the Tavern Wench. The goblins were of all different shapes and sizes. each and every goblin was unique. Some had fur, and some had scales. Some had gnarled horns twisted this way and that upon their head, and some had pointed ears. Some had claws and some had hooves. But unequivocally all of them had black beady eyes that pierced your soul. All except the one goblin standing center front. His piercing green eyes had an eerie quality to them, they lacked a pupils and had mist enshrouding them. However you could tell when he was staring at you. His gaze held weight. he stood at least a foot taller than every person within the Wenches Tavern. His midnight black skin had smooth dark blue scales twisting up his muscled arms. On his back hung a scimitar made of silver. the handle was wrapped in warn leather for grip. He stood, slowly approaching Avril and Bain. Bain held back, unsure of what Avril needed from these goblins. As the man approached slowly he eyed Avril with a look of unsurety as if he was not expecting her.

"Hello" Avril greeted as she extended her hand to greet him.

"My name is Avril." she said in her low melodic voice. she smiled up at him roguishly, revealing her canines.

"My name is Gabriel." The man introduced himself to Avril. His eyes perused up and down her taking in every minute detail.

"How may I be of service?" He slowly took her hand and lead it to his mouth. Placing a small peck upon the back of her hand.

Avril blushed upon the contact of her hand to his lips. What a Casanova she thought to herself when he let her hand glide gently out of his.

"Are you perhaps the Goblin Chieftain of this goblin horde I see before me?" She asked hiding her embarrassment rather well she thought.

"perhaps? What exactly do you need?" As Gabriel stood he stepped closer to Avril invading her space. Avril looked up at the almost 6 ft man in front of her.

"I have a business proposition for you." She said stepping back so as to create a little more distance.

"Well I might be interested, please right this way." Gabriel's voice echoed in her ears as he stepped to the side, holding his hand out to the rickety spiral staircase off to the side. Avril moved forward slowly to the stairs winding her way up to the top slowly.

...

Bain stood behind Avril as they walked in to the seedy dump of a tavern. He stood off to the side, a little unsure of how Avril was going to proceed in dealing with the horde of goblins before their eyes. Avril walked up to the center front goblin, as he looked to be the leader. She extended her hand for a hand shake. When she did this instead of shaking hands the goblin clearly took advantage of her innocence and kissed it instead. Bain felt a rising sense of hatred towards the man in front of Avril, which only increased as Avril blushed shyly before him.

This goblin Chieftain is much to slick Bain thought to himself as he watched Avril flash a smile at him. He wanted to push Avril back from the man, and guard those expressions for himself only. He felt a foreign emotion rush over him. It felt like frustration and anger, mixed with longing and protectiveness. He wouldn't realize until later that this emotion that he was feeling was Jealousy. He followed closely behind the goblin and Avril. The goblin looked back at Bain. Once he saw the emotions that flashed through Bains eyes he laughed at him silently, grinning like a Cheshire Cat. They slowly walked up the staircase, entering the top most floor of the run down tavern. They walked down the hallway to the last door. Bain looked around as he entered the room, noticing that while small, the room was spotless. The goblin sat at a low table gesturing for them to sit as well.

"What can a small goblin chieftain like I do for the mighty Kitsune princess?" He asked as Bain and Avril sat down.
