2 Help at last
"I can't wait to get some pleasure out of this", a man said, his voice slowly drawing near her room. "Did you see her? That tight body is the stuff of legends".
Kiara narrowed her gaze as rage and fear consumed her . No one would ever make her feel powerless again. Ever.
"I don't know,Chenz", another a man spoke."I think we ought to wait till we get further ought . I keep thinking about poll's message that Nemesis is after us
We need to take that seriously .Don't get me wrong,I want a piece of her too, but I'd rather wait until we are safe".
Her vision dimmed with fury .They might kill her, but she intended to take a large piece of them with her to the door .
Chenz's laugh echoed in the hallway.The arrogant sound sent a shiver ."Nemesis ain't nothing to fear .we been paid , I say we ought to enjoy every moment of this"
The gears hummed in the door as it slowly slid upward.
Kiara tensed waiting to pounce.
Two of the nastiest beings she'd ever seen walked inside. Yeah their stench beat out the garbage.
Kiara curled up her lip at the shorter one ,wondering how he could stand to look at his ugly, warted face long enough to shave.
The man at his side was only few inches taller .His long ,sharp ,angular features reminded her of the men that killed her mother
"Well where's she?"It was chenz the shorter one.
Before they could react , she launched herself at them .She caught Chenz with a hard kick that knocked him into his accomplice and then ran for the door.
Before she could reach it someone tripped her. A trained dancer by trade ,she was able to flip over and keep going .At last until something solid hit her back and sent her slamming to the floor.
Cursing ,she realized it was chenz's overweight frame holding her down .He turned her over and delivered a vicious blow across the face. Kiara reeled as pain exploded through her cheek and eye and she tasted blood .for a moment she was completely senseless.
Only the sound of her nightgown ripping brought her back to the present, she sent her fist into chenz's belly .Releasing her ,he doubled over in pain,allowing her to roll out from under him.
The other man came at her the instant she was back on her feet .
Kiara doubled kicked him ,catching him in the center of his chest causing him to stagger back .There was no way she was going to let them have her better they kill her first.
At least that was her thought until something coiled around her neck . she gasped for air as the rope bit into her flesh,choking her.
" Kill her chenz !" The taller man rubbed his chest where she kicked him his eyes burning with smug satisfaction..
The rope tightened even more.
Kiara sight dimmed as she struggled to stay alive.
suddenly there was a blast on their ship,the rope around her neck loosened "take her back into the room" said chenz to the tall man,she was taken back into the room and tied .
The light went out kiara sat in total darkness as she mentally prepared her self for the inevitable.
There was no more sound of lasers being shot around the ship."The end was near" thought kiara,God how she was going to miss her father, dancing .Miss the sensation of the first warm spring breeze on her skin while she sat reading in her garden .
Drawing a deep breath, she took control of her fear .She was a commander's child .Her father had been born in poverty and had climbed by his wits and skills through the ranks of the military to end up being president of of their planet. He was fearless and he had passed that courage to his only child. She was going to meet death calmly, with dignity.
Outside there was sound of approaching feet and then blast shots. She tensed,but whoever it was quickly ran past the room.
She tried cutting the cuffs on her hand until she heard someone outside the door. Her heart was pounding ,at the sound of a laser torch cutting through the steel .
"I'm checking it out now" a man's voice said from outside from the hallway in the universal language that allowed the empire to communicate with all sentient species It was deep and accented. "There's a form of life here about the size of a small human might even be another child ... I just want to make -"
He was silent for a few seconds as he continued cutting through the steel . "Ah, screw u ,Hauk. some of us are not the same low bred animal u are" he paused as if listening to something before he barked ."Hell no u think I will be doing this shit if I wcurse
Kiara wasn't sure if her case got better or a lot more worse. There was a sound pop just before a large piece of door fell in .It landed with a clatter of smoke wafted up from the irregular circle .
Her stomach knottedc into a cold lump. light from a small hand touch traveled about the room, stopping as it illuminated on her.
Despite the pan of her adjusting eyes,she tried to see beyond the light ,to whomever held it, but all she could see was a large bomb . The blob stepped through the hole and entered her room .
Kiara tucked her leg under her so that she could quickly rise to her feet if she needed to stike.
The overhead light returned ,burning her eyes. She blinked several times and the blob turned into a soldier dressed in black battle suit that was covered .A dense black helmet covered his face,preventing her to see which race he belonged to. No flat marked his unuform in any way.
Who was he?
Human or humanoid?or some other creature she could only guess at?
To her surprise he shut off the torch and slid it into a pocket on his right leg .He moved slowly towards her and removed his helmet.
Kiara was amazed by the handsomeness of his face .His shoulder length black hair was pulled into a pony tail and two small , silver hoops dangled from his left ear lobe .
His gaze moved slowly over her body ,taking in every detail with accuracy a mecha would envy .when he looked back at her face he saw pity "I'm syn", he said gently "I'm no going to hurt you I promise" with that he moved slowly towards her knelt down and begin to examine the cuffs and grimaced as he saw how bloodied and bruised her hand was .
"So I see you were definitely determined to get free. Nodding ,she knew she was safe.
His light air died an instant later. he tapped at his ear piece to open the channel."you did what?" he snarled at whoever was on the o end ."Damn it cruel , you stupid ,son of a ..,....I've got a prisoner here who I am trying to cut loose couldn't you have given me a little warning first? I swear to the gods if I make it out of here alive you're a bad memory....And u assholes wonder why I do this shit flagged. How long?"
Kiara swallowed hard as dread washed through her."How long for what?"
"Three minutes?" syn growled ,"I hate you . I really hate you" he let out another curse as he tried to cut through the cuffs . Go on save your self she said as she covers his hands with hers "and thank you for at least trying to save my life. His angry and determined look touched her."I'm not leaving you here .
"You've done your good deed for the day you shouldn't have to die for it". He laughed bitterly ash he worked at the cuffs ,"No good deed goes unpunished.Believe me I know '
Kiara started to argue with him but before she could a dark shadow fell over them.
Cringing she looked up , expecting it to be chenz . But something far more sinister and a thousand times deadlier .It was the last thing she ever suspected to see......, NEMESIS.
For a moment , she thought she might rainy after all. Nemesis was the most feared assassin to ever live .Every known government wanted him dead including her own,and the price on his head was staggering.No one had ever borne a higher one. No one. Maybe its not him.
Expecting him to kill them to her surprise syn moved backe and nemesis broke the cuffs without using anything except his gloved hands he scooped her up in his arm as if she weighed noting at all and wrapped the jacket around her. "What are u waiting on syn" he growled in an electronically distorted voice. "Get your ass moving".
Syn snorted as he received his helmet from the floor "I'm waiting on you now".
Fifty-five seconds and counting. You bastards better start running you're about to fry
