1 The Disaster

*fluttering of pages*

"Many years of prosperity and evolvement in the arts of cultivating, alchemy and scripture had made humans arrogant and believed they could even attack the ancient beasts who had been secluded for thousands of years for their treasures which ended with the once luscious forests and plains further than even Gaea's eye could see into a wasteland by the ancient beasts allowing for only a very few places still habitable for humans. Many people to this day believe that the ancient beasts were the ones to have been the first to assault the humans, but I remember who it was that originally started this slaughter 'Ming Yu' he was so flustered that he couldn't get out of the chaos step and traverse into the restoration step that he thought if he could kill an ancient beast and attain its beast core Ming Yu could breakthrough, but before he could get to a strong enough ancient beast he had slaughtered many young beasts which in turn enraged the elder ancient beasts and in one attack Ming Yu died like an ant."

"To the one who reads this text please understand the crimes the human race have committed".

"Interesting I will have to look into the past to determine how much of this is true." Said Hao Ren as he contemplated on how much of this is true.

Not long after Hao Ren finished reading this biography of Long Ni's life there was a distant wail coming from the border between the continents that the humans lived and the ancient beasts habited. Hao Ren being so close to the border he was able to hear this now and quickly traversed through the thick forest to finally meet a cave in a small mountain that was emitting a bit of light and energy. After walking through the cave for a brief period of time Hao Ren noticed a creatures body moving up and down as it heaved its body to breath as it struggled to stay alive.

"Boy, what are you doing here?" Slowly said the mysterious ancient beast in a raspy voice. "I heard a cry coming not far from where I was so I decided to investigate what the noise was." Hao Ren spoke softly but could easily be heard by the ancient beast as his voice echoed in the cavern. As Hao Ren was speaking he was looking everywhere on the beast as he realized that the beast had a deep cut on his stomach and multiple other small cuts scattered around his body making him look like a ferocious bear that had gone through a bloody battle for territory. "You have been seriously injured and need medical attention." Hao Ren commented. After Hao Ren said this he quickly ran out of the cave to go look for herbs he was familiar with.

'I need to grab snow heart grass to ease the pain, thrice cat ear leaves to increase the blood flow and slow blood consumption, nine feather leaves to heal the injury and small alcohol spores to increase stamina'. As Hao Ren ran through the forest collecting materials he realized something was following him and stopped moving to find out what it was. A black figure went past him scratching his cheek slightly as a warning to run. So Hao Ren ran in the opposite direction of the cave to make sure the black figure would not follow him and kill the beast. The black figure was cackling in excitement from chasing it's prey. Hao Ren heard the sound of rushing water and decided to follow the noise soon coming to a waterfall that spilled into a lake. He ran to the back of the waterfall hiding from the black figure. The black figures intelligence was not great but it new that a human could not live after going under a waterfall and the black figure would feel the signs of life if it's prey was in the lake so it left to go look for some more prey. After some time passed Hao Ren left the waterfall and picked up the herbs he had left behind to keep them from getting wet.

When he reappeared in the cave the ancient beast was shocked to see him again thinking that when Hao Ren left earlier that was going to be the last time he saw the boy. As Hao Ren approached the beast realized that he had herbs and understood why he left and came back. Time passed as Hao Ren sat there waiting for the ancient beast to awaken. Once the beast did awaken it asked a question. "Boy what is your name." Responding the boy said "Hao Ren is my name, what is yours?" The ancient beast laughed hardily at the question. "You are one interesting human seeing as you asked that question. Anyway my name is Yige Jianqiang De Ren meaning the one who is strong." "How did you get that scratch? It's giving of a dark energy from it." Yige asked Hao Ren. "I got from this dark figure that was pulsing with darkness and evil thoughts". "That was most likely an 'Unspoken one' they are created from the darkness of living beings. It is a surprise you made it out of their alive. How did you manage it?" " I just hid under a waterfall." Hao Ren remembrance of the situation made his hair stand and cause goosebumps to come over him. 'This boys physic must be suited for martial arts seeing as a human would not be able to survive the waterfalls that still exist today'. These thoughts rolled over in Yige's mind. " Hey do all beasts have such long and complicated names?" Hao Ren had asked this beast because he had never heard such a long name before. "Among beasts the length of their name normally means they are of higher status." Yige responded.

"My life is coming to an end, but before I go I need to tell you something." Yige spoke with a voice of someone who knew they were going to die and were passing on their last will. Responding to Yige didn't even think about what Yige wanted to tell him and instead said "you can't die now I won't let you die" nearly crying as he spoke. "Hao Ren I came here because of an energy source that was attracting me here with it's will, but now that i'm here and i've met you I realized that it wasn't me who was meant to come here, but you." Yige's eyes winced at the pain from his wound after speaking for so long. In a confused state Hao Ren asked Yige. "What do you mean by it was me who was meant to be here? It was calling out to you otherwise if it wanted me it would've called out to me." "Yes, it did call out to me so that you would hear me and find me inside this place. So that you could ask me the question thats been on your mind." Yige all of a sudden sounded like a profound elder as he said this. "How did you know I wanted to ask a question?" asked Hao Ren curiously. "I have lived longer than you can imagine. It is not difficult for me to see these things." Yige said in with a slight chuckle under his breath. After pondering for some time on if he should ask this question Hao Ren decided. "Was it the humans who started this war?" Even Yige was shocked to hear this question, but nevertheless he answered sincerely. "Yes, the humans did attack our young and in our families rage we killed many humans. That is enough talk my time is near and you need to go further in the cave to attain what you seek."

*Whispering* "One pure of heart." Yige said this as his last words before his soul left his body and returned to the universes dao.

Slowly walking through the cave Hao Ren got this familiar feeling as if he had been there before. Stalactites and stalagmites everywhere should've made it hard to move through the cave, but Hao Ren already knew how to traverse this terrain. Moving closer to the back of the cave Hao Ren saw two lights. One light was a light of darkness coming from the left and bright white light coming from the right. Hao Ren knew what this was. It was Yin and Yang energy. When he got close enough there was a whisper. "Accept the yin and the yang into your being to become recreated." Hao Ren walked forward seeing words written in the yin and yang saying 'Twin Primordial Yin Yang Technique' under this script was the martial skills combined with the technique reading 'The True Dao Art's'. All of this information flooded into Hao Ren's head. The yin and yang energy reconstructed his body. This gave Hao Ren a new understanding of the world.

Walking back to where Yige was Hao Ren realized that he was dead. "I am sorry but I do not have the strength to bury you." Leaving the cave Hao Ren made a vow deep within his soul that the human race will pay for their crimes. "I will make this world right, I will bring justice, because that is what the Twin Primordial Yin Yang's purpose of existence. Only the one who has true justice in their heart can wield this power."

BAE-Before Apocalyptic Era. AAE- After Apocalyptic Era.

If your curious why the Unspoken one would be able to detect Hao Ren if he was in the pond but not in the waterfall was because of the speed the waterfall was going at so it couldn't sense Hao Ren's life force. So i've already thought up all of the levels of cultivation and would like your opinion on if I should post it?

I know this chapter was a bit short, but my goal is for later chapters to be 3,000 words or more so about twice the size of the first chapter.
