58 BSNW CH 054 The Chinoike Clan

It had been since they had been staying at the Bamboo Village. The village had simple farmers working hard to make their lives fulfilled. For the past week the team had been blending with the villagers, passing off as travelers looking for work and they got a lot of it seeing that they were classified as 'good fighters'. Itachi and Jun took care of errands and helping out in fields; Kakashi and Yugao could easily act as guards for the village hunters foraging in forests. Yakumo was the only odd one out but she followed Jun most of the time so no one paid much attention to her.

They gathered a lot of info about the Yugakure (Hidden Hot Springs Village or the Village Hidden in Steam). They figured that whatever the next level information they could get, it would be from the Hidden Ninja village of the Land of Hot Springs. As a treat for their last night of stay the villagers decided to throw a feast.

At the feast the team sat along with the chief watching the festivities and celebration. At that time the chief approached Kakashi to talk.

"Kakashi San, these past few days you and your companions have been really helpful to the villagers. You have been going around asking about a place called 'Sulfurous Valley' correct ?" Chief asked

"Yes , but no one seems to know anything about it." Kakashi replied.

"Well maybe because its information was suppressed . There is folklore in the Land of Hot Springs about the descendants of the devils. This folklore is maybe related to this place you have been searching." Kakashi was stunned hearing about this since there was no information like this available in leaf despite Land of Hot springs being neighbors to Land of Fire.

Jun and the rest moved closer hearing the Chief talk to Kakashi but they too were stunned hearing about the descendants of devils.

"You don't think there are really anything called the devils, right ?" Yakumo whispered softly

"Who knows, we live in an age where people can control elements and change the structure of land and sky , even time and space. Existence of devils may not come as a too big surprise to me . Anyway, lets just listen to the story ?"

Everyone nodded and paid attention to the Village Chief's story.

"It is said that a clan of supreme warriors existed during the warring states period in the area that is now inside the Land of Lightning. Every child of this clan would have Supreme Bloodline which would awaken their fighting instincts from a very young age. This clan thrived in war, and in the words of the people who survived their attacks this clan 'the more blood was shed , the more these people would thrive.' When the 'Ninja World God' First Hokage of the Village Hidden in Leaves started encouraging people to stop the warring clans and come together and create peaceful villages, this clan married off one of its chief elders to the Land of Lightning's Daimyo. She was as beautiful as she was clever and through her machinations this clan thrived and was one of the forefront warriors that protected the Land of Lightning against its enemies. However, The First Wife of Daimyo was jealous of this woman's beauty and preference the Daimyo gave to her opinions. So she waited till Daimyo's health detoriated and secretly killed him off and put the whole blame on the woman of this clan , spreading out the motive that this woman wanted her clan to replace the ruling clan. She took advantage of the fact that all the Daimyo's forces were afraid of this clan's powers. Through her devious scheme, this clan was banished out of Land of Lightning and the Woman of this clan who had become Daimyo's wife was publically humiliated and whipped and tortured and shamed by the entire army as a warning to her clan in case they planned to ever enter the Land of Lightning again. When they were banished from Land of Lightning, they invaded Land of Hot Springs which was newly formed and didn't have much warrior strength. When they almost succeeded in capturing the capital, The Uchiha clan interfered." Itachi and Kakashi stiffened at this "The Uchiha Clan had been employed by the Daimyo in exchange for a few ancient treasures of the Land of Daimyo's personal collection. They succeeded in defeating this clan but they could never completely wipe them out . So the Uchihas sent their most powerful warrior Madara Uchiha here. However He ended up surprising his own clan. Instead of killing of the entire clan as everyone thought he would, he sealed the entire clan in a place known as 'The Valley of Hell', Its name was given due to the fact that there is a perpetual Blood Fog there , along with prevalent miniature volcanic springs often spew out reddish-brown colored hot geysers. Almost no vegetation exists there, and survival is next to impossible. Initially the Yugakure ninja kept a strict watch and killed of any of the clan that managed to escape there. But over time the clan stopped trying to escape and even the Yugakure ninja couldn't find their traces so they thought they died out. Today most people have forgotten its location, even its existence and it only exists in folklore. They are known as the Children of the Devil because of their Red Eyes like those of Hell-beasts straight from nightmare that signal their opponents doom when fighting them."

"...This clan, what was its name?" Kakashi asked after a long time of pondering, while Itachi clenched his fists on hearing about this side of his clan which forced an entire clan to live a life worse than death.

"Hmm… If Memory serves, this clan was called … yes remembered it, 'Devil's Children' Chinoike Clan!" The Chief Replied.
