Flight to New Delhi- Part 3

"See, these bottles will go into the glass show case at home." As far as the non alcholic ones are concerned, you can serve to who so ever you wish."

"I bought something for you three ladies too."

Dada ji pulled out a bag he had hidden behind himself and handed it to Mira.

Mira took the bag and opened it.

Inside were three light brown coloured hats with bows and flowers added as decorations. These hats looked very pretty.

"The sun is awefully hot in Rajasthan, so you girls need protection," he said with a smile.

"You all had not asked for anything but I thought this was the best," he added.

Dadi ji, Nani ji and Tania were very happy with their gifts and thanked Dada ji.

"I think we still have an hour to wait before we check in for boarding the flight, so lets us sit down and talk a while as I want to tell you what was happening with Igor."Dada ji said while pointing towards the sitting area.

They all proceeded to the armchairs kept opposite the counter for boarding check in and sat down.

"Remember that as soon as we entered the airport lobby, an announcement was being made for the passengers heading to India via their flight, to check in."

"Yes we recall," responded Dadi ji.

We all went to the counter to checked in then stood in line to have our luggage weighed, and stamped and tagged," added Tania.

"After that we said bye to Igor who had to wait a while as the checking in of his flight had not been announced," added Nani ji.

"Yes, you three had proceeded to the passport counter to have your passports stamped and get the boarding passes."

"But you did not know that I had not joined you at the counter."

"In actual fact, I had done a U turn and had made a bee line to see what Igor was doing on his own. It was just a gut feeling that I needed to know what he would do in our absence."

'Igor was sitting and talking to someone on his mobile phone and as per his raised voice, I could figure out that a heated argument was going on."

"I moved closer to hear what was going on and stood againt a piller to listen closely.

This is what was being said;-

Igor was angrily telling someone that those people had no business to steal the apparatus from his room, and because of their action he was now in a precarious situation. The police suspected him of staging a robbery in his niece's house and the police felt that he am involved in listening and taping the conversations in her room. He added that he had removed the CCTV camera, otherwise he would have landed up in even more trouble.

All this was due to those persons at the other end of the phone.

What ever was being said at the other end, I could not hear, but I can make a wide quess.

Igor added that he had to get clearance from the police station to travel abroad.

Then someone said something about debts, which is my judgement as thereafter Igor retorted that he was on his way to India and they would get their money back. He was working on some plans.

Nani ji was listening with great attention and added,"Why has Igor associated with such people?"

"There is no reason for him to get into debts, his father has provided enough liquid cash and asserts in property etc to meet family requirements."

"Our land itself produces enough cash crop like wheat etc to sustain the family."

Maybe, these are the people he hired to kill my daughter and son-in-law, hence, he could not take out money from the family funds to pay them," Just a guess she added.

"We will get to know when we reach Rajasthan and confront him near the cave. He is bound to follow us there as he things he will get his hands on the crown jewels etc." Dadi ji responded.

At that moment Tania noticed that there were a few members at the boarding counter.

"I think an announcement to board the plane will be announced shortly as a few Air India persons are standing at the counter. The ladied look so pretty in Saris"

"Yes, soon we will be on our way home."

"Tania! , it will be your first trip to India and I really hope you enjoy your stay in India." Dadi ji added.

"Yes, I am already enjoying it. I want to visit those places I used to see in my dreams. I hope they are in existance or remnant of their ruins can be seen."

One of the crew members, standing at the counter, soon spoke into the mike and called over all those who were heading to New Delhi, India via their flight to come and board the flight.

As soon as the announcement was made, there was a huge line in front of the counter. After showing their boarding passes the people were directed to move behind the counter towards the gate which opened to a passage which went straight to the enterance of the aeroplane. It needs to be mentioned here that each boarding pass has at 1/3rd marking for it to be torn away and retained by the crew member.

Tania, her paternal grandparents as well as her maternal grandmother got up. They made their way to the boarding counter. After getting shown their boarding passes and having the boarding passes ripped at the dotted line, they headed towards the gate. They walked through the passage straight into the entrance of the plane and were greeted by the airhostess saying 'Namaste' with with folded hands. Another airhostess guided them to their seats.

After everyone had settled down, the Captain made an announcement about the duration of the flight, how long it would take and at what spped and what height they would be flying.

He also informed them that they would see their path on the monitor in front of their seats.

Thereafter, the airhostess gave instructions about the safety devices and the emergency exits.

Soon the aircrat taxied for take off, and they were on their way.
