How does one become a adult?

Why do adults get so many privileges?

When I was a child, I would always want to grow up and experience more of life. I always thought it was fun to be an adult and to be able to make our own decisions, to be free of any bondage. I had so many questions in my mind. The questions which remained unanswered throughout my childhood.

But now I understand that adulthood has both beauty and flaws. When i was a child I could only see the beauty or the advantage of being an adult and not the other way round. But I guess people were always right when they said that experience is the teacher. Now that I am experiencing the adulthood, I understand every part of it. In fact i still have more to explore.

Growing up with people being constantly back of you for how you look, how you dress up, how you present yourself is a very reminder of the pressures we get from the society and the important part the society plays in one's life. And when I talk about important it means the unnecessary bothering they give us. Being constantly judged nudges ones confidence in every way possible.

But the important thing is to rise up after we fall, to be able to stand for yourself and project your thoughts in the best way possible. There's no doubt that i have learnt a lot from my life experiences. All that i have achieved today is because of what i have learned throughout my life.

The thing I am most proud of is that I am a woman. Being born a woman is a blessing in disguise. We do face endless trouble, endless bickering, endless questioning and are subjected to continuous limelight for the things that actually does not matter but has to be put forward in order to bring women down.

My life since Delhi has changed in a very positive manner. I have grown up into a woman now with a higher level of self confidence, better sense of humor and a greater sense of responsibility.
