29 Another unusual coincidence

She gently munched on the sandwich as she opened her book and continued reading. I was to return my gaze back to the outside view when she suddenly talked.

"Ryo Kyosuke... Is that right? She said, coldly meeting my gaze.

"That is right..." I said,

"Your spell earlier was amazing." She complimented.

"Thanks." I coldly responded, trying to end the conversation right there. I don't have the energy to talk much about anything right now.

I stare back at the view outside. Without paying much attention outside my thoughts, time passed by so fast, and the time I knew it, lunchtime was already over.

I haven't finished my lunch yet. Whatever I guess, I can just munch on this on my way back.

I stood up and noticed that at my table, Laura has her eyes still glued to her book, not caring about a single thing in the world.

"Laura-san, you might want to check the time. " I said.

She turned her sharp gaze towards me and made eye contact. A cold gush of wind swooshed over as the silence continued to reign.

"Thank you." She said as she proceeds to grab her book and stand up, walking right past me.

What's with her look earlier? It's kinda scary too be honest. It's the kind of look girls give you when they're about to literally murder you, or is it just that it's her normal face? Beats me honestly.

And speaking of Laura, I still can't help but wonder what her amplitude is all about. Is it just fire? I think there's a whole lot to it. Like, It's just more than just one amplitude, unless she was hardly trained ever since she was a kid, like, day and night she would only train.

I think that's the only probable explanation if her amplitude was really fire. One thing is that there are rare amplitudes that can copy other amplitude, the Copy amplitude was it? I forgot the exact name...

But either way there exists that type of amplitude, where they have energy, but can't do magic by themselves. They need someone to copy from. If I'm correct, every stat of the amplitude will also be copied, along with the amplitude itself.

If she has that kind of amplitude, that would be more troublesome than anyone. If she can manipulate a strong person and convince it, or distracting it and copying its amplitude, she can easily sweep her ways to the top.

Well, there's no solid proof yet, I'll just keep an eye on her. I hope it won't be very troublesome.

I walked outside the cafeteria and decided to just procrastinate instead of going to the afternoon classes. It seems like Ryujin will be teaching us again, I don't see anything new to learn.

I walked up the stairs and proceeded to go on the rooftop. A wonderful breeze greeted me as I opened the door.

I let it all out in one sigh and felt quite amazing. This feels... peaceful. I feel serenity. Well, that is until a heard a quiet voice, a woman's voice to be specific, can't say it's a high schooler's voice as it sounds mature.

I looked to where the voice came from, to my side. I looked to see a group of girls. There were four girls in total.

One of those girls stood from the rest, as she was the one wearing boater hats and having an umbrella above with the girl on her left holding it.

The other one was behind the girl wearing the boater hats, with the last one being beside her.

She sort of resembles an upper-rank female with three female bodyguards.

Wait, I felt like this exact scenario happened in the past.

A memory from the other day popped into my head. The one where I decided to stay here and coincidentally saw that exact woman.

Just as I was sorting out my thoughts, The bodyguard behind the woman slightly turned her head towards my direction, and judging from her reaction, it seems like she saw me.

She immediately turned her whole body around and put on a stance. She summoned a Bayonet as she gets on one knee and placed her head behind the scope of her gun.

She pulls the trigger in overly rapid succession, causing a total of 10 bullets to head towards me almost at the same time.

In order to defend myself, I summoned my weapon, and in one big agile slash, all of the incoming bullets were slashed down in half.

"W-Wha?" The girl muttered as she gets into position again to shoot when suddenly, the seemingly upper ranked woman turned around in her mature voice, she uttered,

"Fei, I suggest you calm down. You're breaking one of the rules, rules regarding the violence towards another student."

She said as she pats the girl named "Fei"'s head. Fei has red, bob hair with a casual Kohinshitsu uniform. She has brown eyes with an unusual pinkish pale lip.

She bowed her head to the woman and apologizes like a kid who is apologizing for breaking her mother's favorite vase.

"Now... Young man... the afternoon classes for 1st-years is 1 minute from starting, why are you here?" She asked in her mature voice as she walked up to me elegantly, comparable to a queen walking on her carpet. Her voice sounds awfully familiar. It's the same one as the announcer from the test.

If I remember correctly, the person who spoke there was the 2nd seat, if so, then is the girl in front of me right now the 2nd seat?

Nevertheless, I could now see her full appearance. Her hat is slightly tilted to the side, which obscures her left eye, only her right, sharp, pinkish black eyes along with its long lashes.

She has flowing, long, purplish hair. I don't know if I'm mistaken but I'm sure her hair was white when I first saw her here.

She wore the traditional Kohinshitsu uniform with a long fabric around her waist, with the ends being carried by the wind.

She crossed her arms and looked at me aggressively as if in the next second, she's gonna tear me apart.

"Uhm..."

I don't want to leave, but I also don't want this to be a bigger problem.

"It's written on page 32, that skipping classes can result in a mild punishment, I'll give you the chance to go back to your class and pretend that we never met."

She said as a book appeared in her hand. I took a quick glimpse at the book cover and it was non than a Kohinshitsu rule book. After turning several pages, as she lowered her hand holding the book, a piece of solid ice emerged from the ground and elongated, forming a book stand made of ice.

She put the book on the stand and then, the bookstand of ice turned itself around and flashed in front of me, with page 32 open.

So the amplitude of her's is ice., and the way she controlled the ice without any special or unusual gestures indicates that she had long mastered the way of the ice amplitude.

"So, young lad, what will it be?"

I guess I can't continue to stay here any longer otherwise I'll be brought to detention by one of the elites here.

"You got me, I'm going back."

Although I'll spend my afternoon on a boring session with Ryujin or perhaps our advisor, I got to know a fair amount of information about the 2nd seat.

Her amplitude, possible level of strength, and appearance.

I left the rooftop with my hands on my pocket, feeling slightly good.
