31 A surprising visit(2)

Xander Y Gwir couldn't hide his surprise when two beings entered casually the room.

Behind them, a guard was kneeling down, a tiny drop of blood flowing down his neck, and a sword on the ground.

The guards behind them showed their surprise and some were actually terrified of what they saw.

{Just what are they....?}

Xander couldn't believe that one of the elites was taken down that easily.

Even though both of them could've taken down one of the guards, what were doing the others during this time ?

"Guards, arrest th- !"

"Don't worry emperor, we are here for a little information. Not to cause panic inside your castle."

The figure of the man spoke first.

Both beings has masks covering their faces, while one was clearly a female, though young, she, at least was human.

The other, wearing a mask matching his heterochromatic hair, was a male. But he, had two golden black horns on his head. Xander could only think of some beast-kins with horns which were quite rarely seen.

And then, he matched the two pieces together. A guard on his knees, all guards having terrified looks and his horns.

Compared to how he looks, this emperor is nothing else but quite smart and dependable, and he therefore arrived at a conclusion.

{A monster ? An Ogre maybe ?}

"And you think I'd want informations from someone that harmed one of the elite guards !?"

Xander stood up from his throne, angrily shouting at the man. He knew that this man was really here to give informations, but who would want them considering what happened and the fact that he has those doubtful horns ?

"Don't be mistaken Emperor. The one who's scared your guards was not me, but her." The man pointed to the little girl standing a little behind him.

"Huh ?-" Once again, the emperor couldn't hide his surprise, also mixed with a bit of frustration.

"Besides, if you don't want to hear what I have to say, then just leave. I came here to talk to the nobles, you being here is until now, just a 'bonus'."

The pressure felt in the room was overwhelming some of the nobles.

Some were probably even ready to run out of the room even without the allowance of the emperor.

At those words, Xander calmed down, and sat back on his throne.

"Right. Then, ladies and gentlemen, we are here to help you seek a certain place.

For the poor, a source of wealth, and for the ones that wants a fight, entertainment.

But beware, unlucky ones could only see their lives end there."

The pressure inside the room lowered a bit. Instantly, some took the opportunity to talk.

"What are you saying then ?

Are those hints to find your 'place' ? And how do we know you're not lying ?"

Besides nobles muttering to others their worry, a man in his past thirties spoke first.

"I am getting there. Firstly, why would we come here if that place didn't exist ? Secondly, I will tell you where is that place, otherwise it would just take too much time."

The man took a coin from his right pocket and tossed it towards the nobles.

Astonishment filled their gaze as they looked at the coin.

A platinum coin.

A coin only used by royalties as they were rarely produced.

One that wasn't from royal blood couldn't even think of possessing one, however, that man tossed it on the ground like it was nothing.

Of course, no one dared to take it since the emperor was in the room as well.

"West from here, at the border of Narai and Yarusen lies that place.

No need to take an army, only your average adventurers would do.

But tell them they could die so I don't have their death on my mind.

Thus, 'till we see each other again Gamblers."

The man and the girl vanished from sight in an instant, and at that, an uproar filled the room.

The pressure instantly disappeared and everyone began to speak again.

"What just happened...?"

The emperor's voice was heard throughout the room.

And slowly, nobles started to regain their composure after assessing what happened.

"Emperor, please let me go there myself to check that man's speculations ! I will go with my personal soldiers, therefore, there will be no need to hire adventurers for an unknown place !"

The noble who spoke first was the same as earlier.

After seeing such a scene, every noble would want to explore the place first.

A place indicated by someone who displayed his confidence and his wealth like it was nothing.

All nobles were greedy, no, all humans could be greedy, but that sin could only cause utter disappointment and haste.

Meanwhile, the emperor untill then, froze from Reyn's words.
