7 A Demon's occupation (3)

"It may be the first Demon encountering since 10 000 years."

Clark says to me, a feeling of disgust through his lips and eyes.

"Demons ? A member of the forgotten and forbidden race ?"

"Precisely."

At school for rich people, Demons were taught to be the race that faced Angels during the Holy War. However, since Menos their creator is long dead, they gradually disappeared after the war and since many of them held grudge against the other Gods, they were slaughtered.

They're now a symbol of destruction and it is forbidden to talk about them if there is not anymore in the world.

How could a Demon appear 10 000 years after the War ?

I guess if I check his magic power it should be clear.

Since I can use light magic at a high level, I should be able to see his Mana at least. If we clearly can't beat him, we'll either retreat and wait for the Magic Minister or search help from another country even though we do not want that to happen.

"Life Essence."

I trained pretty hard with the light attribute so most of my magic doesn't need to have a long chant, it counts only for Light element though.

But yet... Nothing.

Not even the slightest amount of magic was found apart from the black portal behind him.

{That's... not normal.}

And then, it began. That 'thing' moved his beautiful red, black and white sword and cut the air with it at his right and left side while keeping the portal opened behind him.

Portals a little smaller than the first one appeared next to him.

""Chantless !?""

"Impossible !"

"What !?"

The dumbfounded reaction of the crowd proved one point, this is not a being for a few humans to handle.

"Evacuate the students and peoples from here. Quickly."

"We can't Princess... It seems a barrier stops anything from entering or exiting."

Even the royal guards began to panic as the 'barrier' thing was said.

And then, skeletons and undeads leaked from the gates, weak ones but in numbers they are quite troublesome. The Demon though, stood still, like he wanted to see it without dirtying his own hands. Quite a cocky one since he only summoned rank 1 undeads and skeletons.

All the mages and guards began to fight with the undeads while students and ordinary persons were put behind in safety.

Is that all that Demon's got ?

{Well, I expected so, but they at least have the strength of what you call rank 1 undeads.}

{Will you go further ?}

{Just a little bit.}

3 skeletons started to appear through two of the gates. They are a little bit taller and have full silver armors on while the chest is enchanted to bring a little more defense.

And thus, the first casualties from the human's side were happening.

"Those ones are not rank 1 but rank 3 skeletons ! We need help !"

Through the crushing of bones and flesh, my 3 skeletons were begining to instigate fear into the weaker guards and mages.

One of them has a bow while the two others have a sword and a shield probably made of iron.

"Protect the students, I'll deal with two of them."

'Clark' the supposed to be stronger mage in the academy took a shield and a staff from a guard and a mage, I'll call that 'borrowing' not stealing.

"I'll take care of the other one then."

"""Princess !?"""

Unexpectedly, the princess also took a sword from one of the royal guards while leaving them shocked by the fact that the 'person to protect' will protect them. They froze while thinking that she might die, but some of them returned to reality and realized that she might be even stronger than some of the mages present here.

Clark took the skeleton with a bow and one with a sword and shield and starts the fight.

"Fire, burn my ennemies, Firebolt !"

"Ravine !"

While the princess shoots a fire ball towards the shield of her opponent, Clark entangle the two before him with roots and grass, the 'hunter' of the two shoots an arrow towards him only to be stopped by the steel and silver shield that he 'borrowed' from the guard.

The princess having stopped the charge of the skeleton with her spell starts to chant again.

"Light, take away the undeads from this land, Purification."

The undead before her just crumbles to pieces after jus one spell while it's armor and weapons disappeared into particles of mana.

{She just killed it in one blow huh.}

{Purification is a high rank spell of light while undeads are made by Dark magic, it's only natural for it's natural ennemy.}

Clark charges to the still entangled 'warrior' skeleton while raising his shield in front of him.

The princess having finished here fight already turns around to face the 'hunter' one that has his glance froze towards Clark.

"Earth Pierce !"

As he says that, rocks start to break through the warrior while the princess destroys the hunter one with her sword.

{Well, they're not too bad.}

{Those undeads were weak though.}

{Are there people stronger than the two of them ?}

{A lot of people. Especially in the neighboring Yarusen Kingdom.}

{Especially ?}

{Yeah, they've got what they're calling 'heroes' there.}

{Summoned ones ?}

{No, they're just S-Class Adventurers, the highest rank possible in the guild.}

{Interesting.}

{Well, let's talk about that later, your Juliet is attacking you.}

"Full burst."

The princess bursts to me with a speed way faster than a human can possibly do, she surely thinks she can injure me.

{Well, let's call it the end. I've got what I wanted already.}

The princess reaches me with her sword raised to cut through my neck and at that moment, I take my katana and cut through, hearing a sound of Iron breaking.

"W-what ?!"

Her sword shatters to pieces as she stood still dumbfounded. I take my katana and point it at her neck though she still has an expression of pride and bravery in her eyes.

I let my sword disappear and start to walk back through the first portal while closing the two others and the one I enter when I'm through.

As the man tilts his sword at my neck, he suddenly lets it disappear and left with his black portal opened since the start of the fight.

""Princess !-""

Many people call to me as I turn to them, I can see Clark almost shedding out tears from my 'death'.

Oi, don't kill me already old man, though I also thought that was the end so I can't blame you.

"Let's keep the fact that this was probably a Demon attack. It would bring panic in all the Kingdom if everyone knows that the Demon race that was here 10 000 years ago resurected."
