6 A Demon's occupation (2)

The academy resembles a high school on Earth, though, there is a large practice ground in the middle of the academy where a lot of people are gathered, guards, mages, nobles and some poorer persons.

{So, what are we doing here Reyn ?}

{I want to know the power the humans in this world can have. If they pass the exams, that means they have a certain level at magic , right ?}

{Well, the students would be considered to be only novice mages but you're right.}

{Also, I think it's time for me to do something fitting the title of God of Despair. I'll at least do a little damage, just for experimentation.}

{Oho, I'll let you entertain me at the same time then.}

I am on a place where no one can see me but I'll change some things since I want to appear before them.

I summon a mask to keep my face hidden instead of the hood, a black and white one, where the black part would be on my 'white side' and the white part on my 'black side'.

{Let's also change clothes though.}

I make my cape go back in a time-less space and summoned a black one instead covering my whole body as I put the hood of it on.

As I still sat on a safe spot of the roof, I watch the Princess's escort arrive at the building. It seems every students and teachers were waiting for them while the Princess sat in a probably for high ranking stature persons bench made of gold and something shinier than silver that I guess is platinum and covered by soft looking sheets, the bench being guarded by many mages and royal guards.

I didn't really look at her earlier since she was in her coach covered by many guards but she is rather pretty. She's got long glossy platinum blond hair, a gentle smile and a slender body. No wonder heirs of noble families would want her for bride.

{Now, let's see what they'll do.}

--Princess Eleanora POV--Alusia--Mage's Academy--

"Now, now young ones ! The Princess will be for the first time watching the exams so try not to ashame yourselves ! Let the test begin !"

One of the teacher spoke, he is the director of the academy as well as a high rank mage and holds a great trust towards my father.

{It sounds like I'm the bad one here... I'm okay if they fail though.}

"Hey Clark, please don't put too much stress on them, they are still 1 or 2 years younger than me, I do not mind if they fail to do something."

"Ye-Yes Princess, excuse my rudeness."

The man talked back with a little panic to not 'cause my anger'.

{Geez, calm down I'm not gonna execute you...}

Even though it was a little bit only, I still could see some of the students sigh in relief. I guess I'm the bad one to cause the stress then.

Many students passed the test already. since the academy only keeps the best ones at magic, it is unlikely that they will fail it.

The test includes offensive magic, defensive magic, if possible, healing or support one and last, a fight against a weak elemental based on the student's elements.

7 elements exist at this point, though, it is said that there is sometimes 8 depending on the period ; Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Light, Dark and Space.

Not everyone has elements but everyone has magic, that said, it can be used to create cards at guilds, use some baths where magic is used or many other daily things.

Having one element is already enough for a person, though, the royal family of Rayshald Kingdom always had royal elements users as heirs that includes Fire, Water, Wind and Earth at the same time while Light and Dark are rare one and the Space element is one that appears for some persons only in an entire country. In the Academy that teach the young magic users, there is always 0 or 1 person that can use it.

While watching the students hug their friends in relief even though the test isn't that hard for them, something unexpected happens.

{Thi-This is...}

Something like a gate opens in the center of the test ground, a large one enough for 2 or 3 people to pass through it.

{Space magic... And at that, a high rank spell...}

Everyone looked at the gate with bewilderment. The Magic Minister which is the greates magician in the Kingdom could use space magic, but it took him several years just to do this black-warp gate while it would cause trouble to maintain it, so it was rarely used.

A human shaped form appears from the gate. A man with a black and white mask while having his hair of the same color. He wears a black cape and holds a beautiful sword in his right hand, not one that the Kingdom could produce although you could still feel the sharpness of the blade.

Students and spectators were quickly put behind all the guards and mages, this being was certainly not here to play.

"An ogre ?"

A magnificent horn was on top of his right side, but since I had rarely seen an ogre, I couldn't tell if he was one.

"If it is an ogre, it might be a King one then. It could be called a Disaster class."

But it was shining. The horn was beautifully shaped and let a leaking of gold pass through the black color.

"Could an ogre use Space magic though ?"

"I doubt it Princess, I daresay it is not like an ogre."

All peoples around us were having expressions of panic due to this being appearing suddenly.

"Then, what is it Clark ?"

"It may be the first Demon encountering since 10 000 years."
