8 A calm after the storm

I teleported in front of the inn I was at earlier while having changed my clothes into my now 'usually' ones.

Like earlier, rich people and nobles are speaking to each other, eating their meals and some are playing what I guess is dice.

As I walk to the counter, the man from earlier approach me. He won't ask for money, will he ?

{Oi, Xaros, what are Demons in this world ? I heard the director talk about me being one ?}

{It's a lot more complicated than you think Reyn.}

{'That so ? Then tell me.}

{Demons were a race created by Menos True God of Death to face Angels created by Filia during the Holy War.}

{It's not that complicated... So, they went extinct since Menos died ?}

{Yes, though you could still find some Angels in the world, Demons are not here anymore. They were slaughtered by all humans and human-kins because of their terrifious powers and grudge against the world.}

The man, still walking to me since he is talking with others on his way, I decide to ask for a room first. If he's this slow, I think I could fall asleep while waiting him.

"I'd like a room please. If possible, the most comfortable one."

I ask that to the employee at the counter, this time, it's a 'he', he looks a little bit older than me, maybe in his mid twenties.

"It's really expensive, are you sure ?"

"Yes."

"Then, it is 10 gold coins please."

"Per day ?"

"Oh no- per month."

Woaw, he says expensive but if it is per month, how much is a gold coin in everyday life then ?

I guess I am spending too much money but that's for my sake ! After all, a God wouldn't have to sleep on the ground.

Ah~ Now that I think about it, I could've just created a room in a different space time... But I will disappear every time though so it's better that way.

And I handed the 10 gold coins at the man while the annoying one came to me.

"Oi, newcomer ! So, did you see your loved one ?"

Ah, I guess the news from the academy didn't reach here then.

"Umm, what do you mean by loved one ?"

"The princess of course ! you were hastily going there at the moment we told you she was there too."

"I wasn't there for her but more for the exams though."

"Yeah, that's what they all say~."

The man's smile grew wider as the talk continued. I am personally not enjoying it so I will go to my room annoying one.

"Um, excuse me now, I'm gonna get some sleep."

I ask the employee at the counter to show me the room where I could sleep. It's on the second floor and since the rooms seem rather big, it can only hold 10 on the second floor and 10 on the third while the first is where everyone talks and eats.

"Here you go, come find us if you need anything."

"Sure."

I enter the room and... too flashy... the room is decorated with gold as well as a red carpet and a king size bed. A mirror could be seen in front of the bed and is decorated with blue gems and silver. It's time to sleep, while ignoring all the shining stuff around me.

I don't really feel the need to sleep but I guess the human part of me would still want it just for convenience.

{So, what are you gonna do next ?}

{Adventurer's guild maybe ?}

I wake up in the morning and leave my room for breakfast.

"I'll take your most expensive dish."

"Ye-Yes !"

The same waitress that usually brings the food responds timidly just like yesterday. Maybe I didn't launch a meteor, but more like a blizzard ? Is it freezing her from the inside when seeing me ? Well, it doesn't make sense because we always compare love to something warm, don't we ?

I finish to eat and starts to walk to the door.

"Oi, newcomer ! Where you going ?"

The same annoying man from yesterday shouts to me while walking towards me.

"I'm going to the adventurer's guild. Also, stop calling me newcomer, it's Reyn."

"Oh Reyn... that's a nice name, although it's quite foreign and rare. Then, I'm Lark, the woman at the table there is my younger sister Laura and the High-Elf is Alia."

{Oi, I didn't ask for your name, you're just annoying me when calling me newcomer. Also, I'm totally fine calling you annoyman.}

"I see, then, I'll be heading there. See you around."

Even though I don't really want to see you again.

And so, I depart for the adventurer's guild.
