1 How Love Is

'Love is intangible. We are unable to touch it, hear it, smell it, or see it. We are only able to taste it.'

When you first got a taste of love, overflowing love will come from the depths of your heart. It was as if your body turned into a fireplace that burns with love. You will want the sweet feeling over and over again, dependant of it, thirsting for it. You would pay any price just to get it.

Love is like a drug.

You got a feel of it, you're addicted to it. In the end, you will stop at nothing to reach your hand out to this intangible thing called 'love'. It slowly corroded you from within, like a fire that burned day and night until you were nothing but ashes. But it slowly destroyed you, so slowly that you don't even notice. First, a small part was burnt, slowly...your whole being felt like it was dead.

Jealousy...this feeling. Your heart yearned for the one, but you are unable to reach for them. You acted rash, your mind went out of control and you would do things you never knew you would. The things you did...you don't even know they were wrong. Love blinded you, like a pair of hands that closed your vision. Jealousy was the whispers that you heard, urging you to 'protect' your love in the price of hurting yourself.

Then, you would feel completely dead. There was nothing that could keep you lit up anymore. The passion you felt everyday, through the seconds, the minutes, the hours...they were fake. Nothing would be able to change your mind but foolishly, after the heartbreak.

You were addicted to it again.

Love was like a never-ending chain of drug. You wanted to stop, you wanted to say no to it, but you simply couldn't. You hoped you could escape from this cage called love, but you were thrown in back the moment you steppednout of it.

Why was it painful?

When you see the others smile and love each other the way their partner were without reservations, you knew you wanted the same. Simply what stopped you from getting the same thing? They could grow old together, yet still love each other. It proved that love wasn't a short spurt of passion between two hormonal teenagers. That love wasn't simply a drug.

Their love was like water, a fountain of love. The flow never ends till the end of time. If one left the mortal world, the other would follow as well. It was such a beautiful love that somehow you were unable to get no matter how much you tried.

Love...only came to those who waited for it, love wasn't picky. As long as you wanted it, it would come to you. Those who fervently searched for it, instead of the love they yearned for, they received a lump of fire. Their love was only for a short while, before disappearing like the fire. To those who waited, and went through the love journey slowly, they would experience the sweetness of love. There would be a lot of bittersweet moments, but with love, was there something they couldn't conquer.

Of course they were, but their hearts were connected and deeply in love, no matter what, they would support one another and guide one another. They would study each other's weaknesses not for fun, but to slowly help the other become better. Love wasn't a raging fire but it was a river of endless water.

With a river of endless water, everyone would be affected by it. With endless water, the love they could share with others were also endless. Love was given to be shared, not to be kept selfishly for your own. It doesn't mean you have to love someone else other than the one, but you care for them, slowly, you will feel the flow of water even larger than before.

Everyone had a seed in their hearts. Those who love like fire will slowly burn the seed, never giving it a chance to grow and bear fruit. However, those who love like water will slowly nurture it, letting it grow to be a tall tree that naturally attracts people towards it.

When you are overflowing with love, you will become everyone's attention without your knowledge. Love is something built over time and not over night. Love doesn't choose but if it could, it would definitely choose those who welcomed it with open arms. It wasn't the matter of deserving love, but now, it's the matter of wanting it or not.

Even the most despicable person in the world deemed not worthy to receive love, as long as they wanted it, someday, someone would come up to them and told them.

"Even if you're the worst, I love you."

Love was given for us to make people happy. It wasn't given to us to make others suffer because we do.

Love...comes in may different ways, and none of them teaches you to hurt others. It was you who teach yourself.

You just wrongly take love as a drug, instead of an endless flow of water inside your heart.
