29 Daily Life: Mio

After saying goodbye to Shin and thanking him for the present I enter my house,get changed and head straight to my garden.

The scent of flowers immediately fills the air "Ahh good afternoon guys are you guys thirsty? Give me one second" I grabbed the watering can, fill it with water and start watering every flower in the garden.

Taking care of the flowers in the garden makes me feel at ease, watching them grow healthy makes me happy, and seeing them withered and die makes me sad. Flowers are not that far away from humans and by understanding that makes taking carFe of them become more meaningful.

"Hehe but if other people see me talking with these flowers they will think i'm crazy or something hehe" I thought to myself while giggling.

I walked around the garden looking at the different flowers me and my grandmother planted back in the days before she passed away.

I let out a sigh "Good times" I said to myself.

Whenever I walk around my garden it feels as if my grandmother is there with me and it sometimes drives me to tears looking back at all the time we spent together.

I then started pulling out wild grass growing on the plants, and after a while i finished pulling "I guess i shouldn't have changed before coming here" I said to myself looking at my dirty clothes.

"Well guess i'll just take a shower and change again" I said to myself while walking inside my house and headed to the bathroom.

After I finished taking a shower and changed into another pair of clothes , I made some tea and lay on my couch while doing random sketches on my sketchbook.

Drawing is another hobby of mine. I always draw when I'm bored ever since I was little but even though I draw a lot my drawings are not that great.

I flip through different drawings i draw i did over the years and i laughed at the stupid drawings i made when i was a kid like cat with wings and half man half cow.

"Hahaha my imagination was pretty bizzare back then" I thought while laughing.

After a few moment's my stomach started growling "Ugh..." I held my stomach and my face turned red.

"Good thing Shin isn't here," I said to myself, then went to the kitchen and looked inside my fridge.

"Oh right, I haven't gone grocery shopping yet since our exam week was over" I said letting out another sigh.

"Guess I'm eating outside today even though I just got home" I said once again sighing then went outside my house.

I walked around town looking at the different restaurants available. There are so many different places to eat so many I can't even choose.

"Hmm there are so many interesting places but most of the places are crowded so i'll pass" I thought to myself.

As i walked around town i saw a familiar face inside a nearby park "Isn't that Makoto and Naoto? Should I greet them? But what if I disturb them? It's best if I don't bother them" I said to myself and continued walking.

I stumbled into a small ramen restaurant. The decorations are very simple and there are not many people inside "Perfect" I said to myself.

I entered the restaurant and the bell rang and an old man at the counter greeted me "Good afternoon young lady please have a seat "T-thank you" I said then sat down.

"Hoho, relax young lady, I don't bite, go ahead, don't hesitate to order," He said, passing the menu.

"T-thanks umm" I hesitate on what to call him "Hoho you can call me gramps or maybe master hohoho" He said laughing.

His kind personality made me relax. "O-okay master d-do can I have some tonkotsu ramen?" I said.

"Hoho, our specialty is coming right up young lady" He said preparing the ramen.

"So umm master do you run this restaurant all by yourself?" I asked.

"Currently? Yes I do but before I had my grandson helping me out but he is in college now so I run this old restaurant myself" He replied.

"Ohh do you not have plans on recruiting some employees?" I asked again.

"If only i can young lady but i don't have enough money to do so as you can see not many people come here" He said while serving the ramen i ordered "Here you go young lady"

"Ah thanks" I said, deciding not to ask anything else and enjoying the ramen.

The moment the ramen enters my mouth I couldn't help but to be amazed by the taste. The milky taste of the broth is very delicious and the noodles are not very soft but at the same time not very hard either. Everything about this ramen is just right.

"Wow this tastes so good" I said complementing the ramen.

"Oh you are exaggerating" He replied "No I'm not. It tastes really good. I'm gonna tell my friends to come here with me next time" I said, putting the restaurant location in my phone note.

"You are such a good girl aren't you? Here take this as a special bonus" He gave me a small chocolate parfait.

"Y-you don't have to do this though" I said, trying to decline.

"Please i insist at least take a bite i'm sure you won't regret it" He said then i took a bite and immediately the fresh taste of fruits and chocolate filled my mouth.

"Hehehe enjoy you lady" He said as I ate the rest of the parfait.

After a few moments I decided to leave. "Thanks for the delicious food master. It's getting dark so I need to go. I'll be sure to come back again someday" I said.

"I'll be waiting, young lady" He replied as I left the store.

Before going home I decided to stop by a bookstore but not just any bookstore.

I am a really big fan of manga but I refuse to tell anyone about it because I'm embarrassed.

I entered the store and browsed through different genres of manga. "Ugh, I already read some of this. I want something new." I thought, looking at the "Forbidden" Corner "Ahh... I better not" I decided to just take a random book.

"Mio?" A female voice called out to me "A-Ai?! W-w-what are you doing here?" I was surprised.

"No no that is my question what are you doing here?" She asked.

"I-i'm buying a book(?)" I replied, hiding the manga behind my back.

She then snatched the book from my hand "Oh my i didn't you are into this kind of stuff" She said holding the manga i randomly took that apparently is a yuri manga.

"W-what?! No no you got it wrong i didn't mean to take that one specifically i just grabbed it randomly" I said avoiding any unnecessary misunderstandings.

"Yeah sure that's what they all say" She replied not believing what i say.

"I-i'm not lying!!" I shouted and people in the store suddenly stared at me and then I bowed apologizing.

"B-by the way you dodged my questions before, what are you doing here Ai?" I asked.

"W-well umm i buy mangas of course i love these things" She replied looking nervous.

"What kind of manga?" I asked getting closer to her.

"Normal ones hahaha" She said, hiding the manga she bought.

I took it and surprised by what manga he bought "Oh ummm okay here you go" I decided to give it back to her.

"It's not what you are thinking it's just a bromance umm umm shounen that's all it absolutely not what it looks or what you are thinking it is" She said.

"Y-yeah hahaha of course" I replied awkwardly "So anyway i'm gonna pay for my manga and uhh" I said while going to the counter and paying for the book.

After I walked outside, Ai followed and dragged me into an alley and kabe-don me straight to the wall "Don't tell my brother what you saw better yet we never met at all today do you understand?" She asked menacingly.

I only respond by nodding scared "Good c'mon i'll accompany you home.

I can't do anything but to agree.

We both walked together towards my house and while walking I tried to keep my distance between her because I'm scared.

"Oh c'mon no need to be scared of me after all i'm your future sister in law" She said while wrapping her arm around me.

"F-future s-sister in law that means me and Shin are getting married?!" I thought then my face went red.

"Hahaha your face is all red and thinking of something indecent?" She asked, teasing me.

"N-no i would never!" I replied.

"Hahaha sure you don't" She said not believing "I don't!" I said back "Yeah yeah"

We finally arrived at my house. "Do you wanna come in for some tea?" I asked.

"No thanks, I should get home before my mom closes the cafe and my brother starts looking for me" She replied.

"Okay then take care" I said as she walks away.

I entered my house to get change and sit in front of the doorway heading to my garden, as fireflies started to shine and illuminate the night sky.
