2 CHAPTER 1

CHAPTER 1

"Ma'am, this is the new project proposal from Architect Donovan." Shirley, the assistant, hesitantly walks inside Aphrodite's office. Even with her stone-cold face and stern demeanor, she's always nervous when it comes to Aphrodite. The woman is the epitome of beauty, wealth, success, and evilness. Far from the Goddess Aphrodite which was the goddess of love and beauty, Aphrodite hates men—well, that was the gossip running around the building. She never confirmed it though.

She never saw her boss go out with a guy beside her ex- fiancé—Jonathan Pratt. The woman is so scary to stare at. She always glares when a guy looks at her. She's always so cold, so stern, so prim and proper.

Aphrodite looked at her, with glasses on the tip of her nose. "Why is Donovan always changes his bloody little mind? Always pisses me off." She stated irritably. "Hand me that." Oh, did Shirley mention that her boss always has a foul mouth? No?

"Yes Ma'am." Shirley nods and walked towards the CEO to give her the folder.

"You may go." The woman spoke again and tossed the folder on the corner of the wide table.

She walked out of the door and go back to her desk outside Aphrodite's office. She exhaled her nervousness and continued working on her computer.

***

Aphrodite massaged her temple. Her head feels like it's going to burst. She couldn't understand why this fucktard of an architect is always making something that will surely piss her off.

Maybe she can cut the deal with Donovan?

Drop the project proposal? No. The board of directors might argue with her AGAIN, and she doesn't want that.

Maybe she'll stick working beside Donovan, the fucker.

Donovan is a pain in the ass. He always does what he wants and went inside her office whenever he wants too. He doesn't know the word 'privacy' and 'respect'. He is the most annoying bastard in the world for her alongside Jonathan (bastard #1) and his mother. He is what she calls him, bastard number 2.

The intercom beeped and she heard her secretary said, "Ma'am, Architect Donovan is coming—"

"Good morning, my favorite flower in the world!" She face palmed and rolled her eyes at the unwelcomed visitor who gets his ugly ass comfortable on her black leather couch. See?

"You are never going to crash into my office like that ever again." Aphrodite held her pen and points it towards him.

"Why?" he said putting his feet up on her coffee table. "I always knock before I come in. Didn't I?" he smirked. "Am I not welcome here?"

"No. And don't smirk, please. You're disgusting." Donovan never gets hurt by her harsh words. He's okay with that. She excites him. He loves annoying her.

He shrugged, "Well, have you seen my new project proposal?"

"Can't you see? Shirley just handed it to me a few minutes ago. Are you that fucking excited?" she said while standing up and went to sit to a single-seater sofa near Donovan.

"Well, I am." he laughed. "Take a look." He walked to her table, grabbed the folder and tossed it to her.

She gave him a glare before opening the black folder. 'He's so fucking annoying.' she thought.

She nodded, "This is way better than the other." She admits, Donovan is good at his works. This is the only thing he is good at.

"Donovan, your grin just made my blood boil. I accepted your proposal. Now get out of here." She walked back to her table. She really wants silence. She really wants to kick Donovan out of her motherfucking office.

Aphrodite and Donovan were classmates back in college. She was also an Architecture graduate. She was on top of the class. And now, she's one of the top elites of her time. One of the richest—not of any category, but one of the richest in the world.

She is an independent woman. A woman of power, a woman of virtue, a true femme fatale. She is a strong woman who knows what she wants and how she wants it. A woman who knows what she wants from her life and she won't settle for less than she deserves.

Donovan can't take his eyes off her back. She has a nice ass, pretty face, tall height, flawless body to die for, and a nice ass. She's so full of confidence. Just his type.

"I'll see you tomorrow." He winked before getting out of her office.

She groaned. Getting tired of Donovan. Getting tired of work.
