5 Chapter 4

Aizawa POV

"Well there is some commonality we can definitely conclude from all these victim's and that is they're all sinners."

I hummed. One of the other detectives spoke up, "What do you mean by they're all sinners?"

"What I mean is that when you look into their past, all victims have either killed someone, raped someone, in the drug dealing business, etcetera. All victims whether they be civilians, heroes, or politicians, all have committed some sort of crime."

Another officer spoke, "How did it take so long for this connection to be discovered?"

"Well, it was extremely difficult to uncover the past and accusations of government officials, heroes, and powerful people."

Then the last officer spoke, "Then are they a bad thing or a good thing?"

The rest of the detectives looked at him with mixed expressions of confusion, anger, and realization. I just kept a blank one though.

"T-Think about it," he stuttered, "If this person is killing people who are doing bad things and committing crimes, then are they necessarily a bad thing? When you look at the crime rate, it has dropped more than 18% from two years ago."

I was about to speak about it, but Tsukauchi cut in, "While the crime rate dropping is a good thing, murdering people is not a valid punishment. The people should be prosecuted and tried in a court of law."

The three detectives looked down, not truly agreeing with Tsukauchi's statement. After a moment of silence, he began again, "There is no new information other than that link. You may leave, dismissed."

Once the other three left I sat next to Tsukauchi and put my hand on his shoulder. I wasn't used to this whole comforting thing, but he seemed stressed and like he needed it. He held his head in his hands and sighed, "Aizawa, what's your perspective on this? Maybe you could provide some insight."

"My insight huh?" I thought as I tried to formulate my words

"Well, I think that this person won't be easy to catch and it will be difficult to find them. Whoever they are, they're ruthless. Even though they have only targeted people who have done bad deeds, they are still a danger. They also have gone after only smaller heroes before but heroes none the less. They might start to target people who go against them in general. We don't know what's to come, but no matter what, we will find this person and lock them up for good."

When I finished he seemed pleased with my answer much to my relief. He smiled and stood up, "I thank you for your time, you may head out as well. I'll see you later Eraserhead."

I nodded in response as he left.

I looked back down at the blurry picture of the person, "Just where and who are you Zavage?"

First Person POV

It was now time for me to head out and complete my mission. Thankfully my costume was dry and was ready. I slipped on the bodysuit, then the pants, the hoodie, and the boots. I put my dagger on my left thigh and placed all the needles in their respective places. I placed all my throwing knives in their pockets hidden from view. I then put up my shoulder-length hair into a high ponytail and out of my face, put my mask in my hoodie pocket. Lastly, I put on my most recent invention that will be key to this mission. My ODM gear (basically the ODM gear from Attack on Titan) and let me say this thing is so cool! It allows maximum agility, speed, and it has swords built into it, SWORDS! Honestly, one of my best creations. It took me an entire week to learn to use the gear though cause you need an extreme amount of balance, control over your movements, and impeccable timing. I cannot tell you how many times I fell testing this baby out in the building. Seriously, my butt hurt like heck.

I strapped the gear onto my waist and hips, the only thing that I need to improve on is the bulkiness of it. It's a bit too big for my tastes. I put on a mask and jumped over the rooftops, silencing my footsteps, and staying in the shadows. To my luck, his meeting ended an hour earlier than expected, so the sun was already starting to set by the time he exited the building.

My plan was to wait and watch until he began to exit the building and right before he got into his car I would zoom right in front of him and slit his throat with my swords. Then, make my great escape using my gear. I have studied maps all over the city so I know its alleys and roads like the back of my hand. I chuckled at myself as I saw my target exit the building. I pulled my mask over my face and turned on the LED light, then I waited.

"Janet, I want you to organize the files I have given you and have them on my desk by tomorrow and while you're at it get me my usual coffee," he said, his tone cold and assertive to the assistant trailing behind him.

Once his body came into view my eyes narrowed like a hawk. I pressed the trigger and the wires shot out right in front of him. In the blink of an eye, I had used one sword to slit his throat while using the other to make the marks of a big Z along his chest.

"Just as planned," I thought before I heard a ruffling sound coming towards me I ducked and saw a light grey scarf fly over my head right where I was standing and I recognized who it was immediately. I chuckled and turned to greet the man behind me. I chuckled darkly, "Why hello Eraserhead," I said making my voice deeper.

He had on his usual black get-up with the scarf, goggles, and everything! I know I should be fearing for my life, but I mean you rarely ever see this man doing hero work EVER! He kept on a blank face, "Zavage."

Aizawa POV

I was out on patrol which was way earlier than normal. Usually, I don't start my patrol until 9:00 pm, but today was different. I jumped from building to building skillfully as I suddenly heard a blood-curdling scream. I rushed over to the scene where I saw them. The one and only Zavage. They were standing over the body of their latest target. People were screaming and running everywhere in a panic. Quickly, I shot out my scarf towards Zavage only to my surprise that they ducked. I got into my battle stance and got ready for them to strike. They turned around, a mask covering their face with blood splattered on the front, The same hoodie with a red x and the same clothes as the picture. They greeted, "Why hello Eraserhead."

"Their voice is deep and I don't hear any sort of static so they can't be using a voice modifier," I thought. I kept my usual expressionless face as I activated my quirk, my hair floated up and my eyes glowed red behind my goggles. I said coldly, "Zavage"

They laughed and I swear I could hear the smirk from under that mask, "It's so nice to see you in person Eraserhead. Fun fact is that you're actually my favorite hero. You simply do your job to help people rather than for recognition or for the press. I find that admirable. However, I don't want to be taken in or killed just yet so I'm gonna have to skedaddle so bye."

They turned to their right and wires shot out of this weird contraption on their hips. "Maybe some sort of fast transportation device?"

Suddenly their body shot in the same direction as the wires.

"Dammit," I cursed under my breath. Honestly, I don't get paid enough for this.

I chased after them as fast as I could. Jumping roof to roof, using my scarf, trying to keep them in my line of sight as best as I could, but with that strange device, they were just too fast for me to keep up. They kept getting further and further and I was getting more exhausted. They shot their wires once more, but as they flew forward I noticed out of the corner of my eye, something fell out of their pocket.

As I glanced back to where I last saw the masked villain, they were completely gone. "Fuck," I swore to myself as I sighed. My body was exhausted and I was breathing heavily, seriously I was chasing them for over fifteen minutes! I haven't had to do this much physical activity since the USJ attack. Well, I guess I should be glad that this time I came out with a sore body rather than a demolished one.

I chuckled slightly at the memory, that Nomu had really messed me up.

I quickly hopped over to the area where I saw the thing fly out of the villain's pocket.

"Ugh come on," I searched and searched the alleyway. "Dammit, I should've come here quickly instead of reminiscing things," I muttered before facepalming, "such a rookie move."

As I was starting to walk away, a small slip of folded up paper showed up in the corner of my eye. I walked up to it and bent down to pick it up. "From the weight and how many times it was folded over, I assume this is some folded up lined paper," I thought as I carefully held it. The back of it felt wet and so I turned it over, "What is this, blood!?" I whisper yelled under my breath. I unfolded the page and my eyes widened at what I saw, "No way…

The paper was a list of all the recent victims of this villain, all their names crossed out one after another. Though what really shocked me was the final name at the bottom of the page. The only one not crossed out was a certain person's name with a date about a week from now.

"Enji Todoroki…"

"Holy shit," I thought, "I gotta call Nezu."

I quickly stuffed the piece of paper into my pocket and grabbed my phone and pressed on the contact labeled "Sadistic Mouse". I tapped my foot on the floor impatiently waiting for him to pick up. "Come on, come on," I muttered.

Finally, he answered, "Hello, Mr.Aizawa. You normally never call me unless it's important. So to what do I owe the pleasure," he said in his normal cheery tone.

"I have a lead on who Zavage's next victim will be, I need you to gather all the top pros you have to talk come up with a plan, and also call Tsukauchi," I replied seriously.

"...Consider it done."

"Alright, I'll be there in twenty minutes."

I stuffed my phone back into my pocket harshly and began my trek back to UA. Ugh, why did it have to be so far.

*time skip*

I heard murmurs coming from the meeting room as I walked in.

"Alright let's get started," I said emotionlessly, startling them and effectively shutting them up.

"Wow Shouta, you never start meetings," Mic looks at me, surprised.

I looked around the room, sitting at the head of the long wooden table was Nezu, next to Tsukauchi. On the left side of the table sat Kamui Woods, Mirko, Edgeshot, Vlad King, and Endeavor and on the right sat, Nemuri, Mic, Best Jeanist, Hawks, and Allmight in his muscle form.

I walked up to the head of the table next to Nezu and stated, "The reason I called for all of you this evening has to deal with the villain who goes by the name Zavage."

Some heroes gasped, some looked at me with eager eyes wanting me to continue, while some like the flaming hot head over there grumbled at the villain's name.

"On my patrol earlier today I had a run-in with the villain. They had killed Jeremy White and carved a large Z into his chest. The villain had a sort of gear that allowed them to maneuver between buildings and get away from the scene quickly which made them hard to follow. After about fifteen minutes of pursuing the villain, I saw something slip out of their pocket," I paused as I took the folded piece of paper from my back pocket and set it down on the table facing the fellow heroes," this paper is filled with all of the victim's names and the date in which they died.'

Gasps echoed throughout the room. I understand why everyone is so serious, but honestly, I hate meetings like this, they're always so stiff.

"However when we look at the bottom of the page, there is only one name and date that hasn't been crossed out yet," I glanced at the flame hero sitting at the end of the table, "Endeavors."

Everyone looked at the hero with mixed expressions. Some with confusion, others with sorrow or pity. The hero himself had a somewhat blank expression, but his eyes held tints of anger and shock, and ever so slightly, fear.

I looked towards Nezu who was sitting next to me, his eyes gave away no sign of emotion but I could practically hear the gears turning in that brain of his. I asked him, "Do you have any ideas of how we should proceed?"

"Yes actually, one."

"Well? What is it?" Nemuri asked a bit impatiently.

"I'll tell you but some of you may not like it."

"Use endeavor as bait right?" I sighed knowing this is the only way and because if I know Nezu, which I do, he would never let an opportunity like this slip through his paws.
