As Izuku was waking up and getting off of Nana's lap he read through the quests and realized just how screwed he'd be without the system at this point, he could only imagine him going to the exam and breaking his arm the moment he tried to use OFA. He swiftly accepted the quest before speaking with Nana
Izuku:"Alright, I can feel the power within me but how do I use this thing? Preferably without injuring myself!"
Nana and him stood up and walked to the center of the beach as they were talking
Nana:"Well the way you use OFA is different for everyone, the way my mentor used it was like not trying to break an egg in a microwave, I use it like I'm turning on a tap, you just gotta figure out how you decide to use it. Sorry if that isn't particularly helpful, it's the most I got"
Nana smiled embarrassed at her lack of ability to be able to help at this stage
Izuku:"So speaking of mentors, What happens to you now that I have OFA?"
Nana seemed a bit saddened thinking about it before she smiled once more at Izuku
Nana:"Now that you have OFA the power within myself will start to fade as you grow stronger until eventually the last embers of OFA fade away"
[Do I even need to issue a quest for this? You know the answer already]
Izuku blinked at his system's response to Nana's words. Did-did this mean that his quirk not only healed people but kept them to their prime?
Izuku:"ahhh, thing about that actually, I think my quirk may be able to stave that off."
Nana stared blankly at Izuku, who was this kid? Did he just have an answer for all of life's issues?
Nana:"*ahem* Right, well let's move onto your training try and feel the power of OFA in you and move it around your body and try and find a way to limit how much of it you use. I don't want you breaking your arms or legs, even if you have the ability to heal them"
Izuku nodded then sat down to meditate for the third time of his life. He felt the raging inferno in his veins, the still lake of mana in his stomach, But he couldn't quite find the power of OFA, he could feel it ever present, but never quite find it. His inward gaze passed over his chest before he felt an explosion of energy and then all blackness.
*Nana's POV*
Nana was watching him meditate before he suddenly collapsed with lightning around himself, Startled she called up Recovery Girl, having no idea what caused this to occur.
*Izuku's POV*
*An unknown place*
???:"The Ninth Has Arrived"
???:"Nine is here"
???:"Nine"
As Izuku was waking up he heard a cacophony of voices chanting nine over and over. He looked around and saw several shadows approaching him. Izuku got up and tried to run away from the shadows but it never felt as if he was getting any further away. He kept running as fast as he could, he tried using his Phoenix quirk to run faster but he couldn't call it out of him, as if the very quirk was resisting his presence. He tried moving mana to reinforce his legs but it didn't move either. He was out of options and the shadows seemed ever encroaching and he couldn't run forever, he tried reaching out to OFA but even that seemed resistant to follow his commands, he felt like he was chained down wild animal trying to break their restraints. He had been running for several minutes at this point and he was slowing down from exhaustion, he tried calling out to the system, but even that did not respond.
Izuku was scared, for the first time in his life, Izuku was truly scared, he had been scared when he was attacked by the sludge villain but he knew he could fight back then, he had been scared of Katsumi back when they were kids but he knew she wouldn't kill him. No now he was scared, scared of the fact he was helpless, the one thing he hated being was helpless. He had gotten a quirk, a very powerful one at that, and then another! But none of it mattered now, he was helpless, scared and alone. He was completely exhausted and about to accept whatever fate the shadows had planned for him, but then he saw them. Images of Katsumi and how he made her a blushing mess, him patting her on her head to calm her down, even them eating lunch together. Oh how he'd miss that. Then he saw Nana, the sweet kind and caring woman that she was, he gave her life and she gave him guidance, he saw him resting on her lap, and then he saw her staring out into the ocean before their training sessions.
Izuku:'No. No! NO! I REFUSE, THEY ARE MY POWERS, I WILL USE THEM'
Izuku struggled all he can, and like a trapped animal backed into a corner he fought, he pulled on his abilities with everything he had and then some, he forced them through his veins and into his very being, the first to snap was his mana, flowing like a raging torrent directly into his muscles he could feel the exhaustion leaving him as his muscles used mana to power them instead of oxygen then he felt his Phoenix ability snap fire pouring from every part of his body all with one singular purpose, to fight off these shadows, and with one final tug the last chain holding him snapped and he could feel a torrent of lightning flowing through his body powering up every single aspect of himself. Lightning crackled around Izuku as his fire changed from a light blue to a blazing white, he became so bright that the darkness and the shadows coming from it were forced back, he was once more in control, and he'd never let go again. He had far too much to lose to ever let go.
Izuku's eyes snapped open to see a white roof and what he heard to be a heartbeat monitor next to him before he heard a chime in his head and a window popped up

Izuku looked to his left and saw Nana with her head on whatever bed he was laying on assumedly sleeping
Izuku:'So I guess it's night now, but what were those shadows? Where was I?'
Izuku looked down at his hands as he moved OFA into them, he could see green lightning crackle around them before he turned it off.
He poked nana lightly on her cheek.
*poke poke*
Nana:"hm? Five more minutes mom"
She put her head back down on the bed before shooting up and looking straight at Izuku before wrapping him in a hug
Nana:"Oh thank god you're awake! I just saw you meditating then you blacked out and I didn't know what to do and so I just brought you here and-"
Izuku pulled out his rapidly becoming signature technique and patted her on her head to calm her down, he could see the sadness and worry in her aura slowly going away. He kept rubbing her head until she completely calmed down
Izuku:"I'm alright now, But how long have I been out?"
Nana:"Pretty much the entire day, it should be around early morning now, your mom was informed that you over exerted yourself in training and that you'd be staying at your trainers house til you woke up"
Izuku recalled when his mom first learned Gal-Might would be training him and the shock she had on her face.
*flashback Midoriya residence*
Izuku:"Mom! Come meet my trainer"
Inko had heard that Izuku got a trainer to help prepare himself for the entrance exam for U.A. and she was proud of his decisions, especially with the results she'd seen him come home with. But when she walked to the front room of their apartment she had not expected to see the number one hero next to her son.
Inko:"Wait! You're being trained by Gal-Might?!? You said you got a trainer but I didn't know the number one hero would be training you!"
Nana lightly chuckled at her, she reminded her of Izuku.
Nana:'Like Mother Like son I guess.'
Nana:"There's no need to freak out Miss Midoriya, Young Izuku is helping me out with his Quirk so training him is the least I could do."
Inko nodded at that, she knew that Izuku volunteered at the hospital and was even the one to encourage him to do so. So she understood what she meant by that. But still he was getting trained by the number one hero! How did he do that?
Inko:"Ok well that makes sense I guess, you can call me Inko then no need to be so formal, come, I was just finishing up dinner if you'd like to stay."
Nana nodded and ate dinner with the Midoriya family, they talked about life and how working as the number one was like. They got to know each other pretty well. Nana had promised to visit again at some point and she did, It became a semi-regular occurance to have three people at the table for them, usually once a week or so. Nana would admit she enjoyed it, reminded her of her family.
*flashback end*
Izuku:"Well that's good, I don't need mom freaking out over me being in the hospital. But I should be getting ready if it's already morning the exam is today after all."
Nana nodded and together they signed out of the hospital and started walking back home in silence until Izuku spoke up
Izuku:"So now that I'm going to be at U.A. for most of the time how are our healing sessions going to go? You are almost healed but that injury will worsen if I don't keep healing it."
Nana smirked at that
Nana:'If only he knew'
Nana:"I wouldn't worry about it you'll see me a lot more than you think"
She said it in such a mysterious tone that Izuku couldn't help but wonder what she meant but before he could ask her she interjected
Nana:"So I guess you won't be able to use OFA during the exam huh?"
Izuku:"I think I might, I wasn't sleeping when I was blacked out, it was strange, almost like a dream but I was in a black void surrounded by shadows, I don't know why but I knew I needed to get away from them, but neither of my quirks were working, I felt like an animal caged down trying to break free. It was only when I could barely move was I finally able to shatter the restraints and use my power to free myself. Ever since OFA has flowed through my body freely, I can draw and move it as if I've always had it without issue"
Nana's eyes widened at his statement. WHO WAS THIS KID? First he heals a supposedly unhealable injury she had then when he gets OFA he gets sent to a shadow void and gains the ability to control it like it were nothing!
Nana:"Kid, your unbelievable you know that? But still be careful you may be able to control it, but you still have no practice with it, it's like a sudden increase in strength you gotta get used to it to know how much you're actually outputting. So don't injure yourself please."
Izuku smiled at how caring she was being before nodding to her words
Izuku:"Don't worry I'll be careful."
And so they walked home in peace once more.
*8:40 That same day, at the U.A. testing site*
Izuku was walking up to the building, looking at it in awe.
Izuku:'I'm finally here! This is the first step to my dreams! Although I wish people would quit staring at me'
Izuku was one of the very few males applying this day so he was quite a spectacle for the ladies attending, but as Izuku was walking someone brushed past him breaking him out of his thoughts and when he looked up he realized it was Katsumi who went past him, although she didn't say anything.
Izuku:"Good morning Katsumi!"
Izuku gave a small wave to her. She seemed to hurry her pace trying to get away from Izuku.
Izuku:'She must be nervous today too, if it weren't for those ten months of training with Nana I'd be worried too'
As Izuku was in his thoughts he didn't notice the brick that was raising itself out of the ground in his path and he tripped.
Izuku:'Or I guess I'll just die, that works too'
As Izuku was about to hit the ground he stopped moving, startled Izuku tried to right himself before he heard a girl next to him giggle before she helped him stand properly
???:"I stopped you with my quirk, sorry I didn't ask first but I figured you wouldn't mind me catching you"
Izuku took a look at the girl in front of him her aura was a mix of happiness passion and nervousness all battling for supremacy he used observe on her.

Ochaco:"Isn't this all like way nerve wracking?"
Izuku:"Yeah, I know what you mean, guess I was so lost in thought that I tripped, haha. Thanks for catching me though I do appreciate it, My name's Izuku, Izuku Midoriya nice to meet you."
Izuku extended his hand for a shake, inwardly noting how easy it was to talk to this girl while he had almost no prior social interaction with others
Ochaco:"Ochaco, Ochaco Uraraka. It's nice to meet you as well"
Ochaco shook his hand and quickly said
Ochaco:"Well I guess I'll meet you inside!"
Before rushing off trying to not be late. Izuku looked back at the ground where he tripped and noticed a distinct lack of a bump that would trip him
Izuku:'Weird, I could've sworn I tripped over a brick or something, I guess not"
And so Izuku continued on his way into the testing room.
*U.A. Testing room*
Izuku had been placed right next to Katsumi, who seemed to be doing her best to ignore his presence up to now.
Izuku:'Hm, I wonder, Romance System'

Izuku's eye couldn't help but twitch at the system calling Katsumi a tsundere, even if he would admit that it was accurate
Izuku noticed that Katsumi was sneaking glances at him when he wasn't looking and decided to mess with her. He turned toward her and lightly patted her head.
Izuku:"Good morning Katsumi, how did you sleep?"
Katsumi was slightly startled at his touch but merely huffed and turned away from him, but notedly she didn't move his hand. Before Izuku could tease her more the stage lit up and he saw the Pro-Hero Present Mic standing behind a podium
Present Mic:"What's up U.A. candidates! Thanks for tuning in to me! Your school DJ! Come on and let me hear ya!"
Izuku swore he could hear crickets in the background at how silent the crowd was, he almost felt bad for her.
Present Mic:"Keeping it mello huh? That's fine I'll skip to the main show. Let's talk about how this practical exams gonna go down, ok? ARE YOU REDAYYY?"
Izuku:'Are-are those crickets getting louder? Now I actually do feel bad for her. Let's take a look at her stats, Observe'

Present Mic:"boys and girls will be conducting 10 minute mock battles in an urban setting! After I drop the mic here you'll head to your specified battle centers, sound good? OK?'
Izuku still feeling bad for Present Mic decided to give a small cheer
Izuku:"WOOT!"
He could immediately feel several eyes on him afterwards but he saw Mic smile a little wider after he did it so he was fine with them looking at him strangely. Izuku looked down at his card then looked down at Katsumi's card and noticed that they were placed in different battle centers even though they were one number off of each other.
Izuku:'So they must split up the numbers randomly to prevent friends from working together, quite smart so that people can't cheat'
Present Mic continued shortly after, noticeably happier that someone acknowledged her.
Present Mic:"Ok, ok! Let's check out your targets! There are 3 types of faux villains in every battle center. You'll earn points based off of their difficulty so you better choose wisely! Your goal in this trial is to use your quirk to raise your score by shredding these faux villains like a mid song guitar solo! But check it! Make sure you're keeping things heroic! Attacking other examinees is a U.A nono you dig?"
As she finished a young man with dark blue hair stood up
???:"Excuse me sir, but I have a question"
Present Mic:"Hit me!"
???:"On the print out you've listed four types of villains not three. With all respect if this is an error on official U.A. materials it is shameful. We are exemplary students, we expect the best from Japan's most notable school, a mistake such as this won't do. Additionally you with the unkempt hair if you're only here to flirt and can't take this seriously then leave! You're distracting the rest of us!"
Ohh, he was that kind of guy. Izuku knew he already didn't like him.
Izuku:'Not only did he jump to conclusions he directly insulted my hair! How rude!'
[The system recommends immediate execution]
Izuku double took at that.
Izuku:'Ok, isn't that a tad extreme system? I like my hair but that's just excessive'

Izuku sweat dropped at this, the system could not be serious, could it? There was no way he would accept this quest. Izuku swiftly pressed the decline button and he swore he could've heard a scoff somewhere but couldn't see anyone talking.
Present Mic sweatdropped at Tenya's strict attitude, she could very well tell that the greenette in question wasn't flirting and was paying more attention to her lecture than almost half the participants there, but she may have also been slightly biased since he actually cheered when she asked for it.
Present Mic:"Alright, alright, examinee 7111 thanks for calling in with your request. The fourth villain type is worth 0 points! That guy is just an obstacle we'll be throwing your way! And while it can be beaten, there will be a 50 point penalty to whoever does. It is meant to be an obstacle, not a punching bag you dig? I recommend my listeners try to ignore it and go for the ones topping the charts ya hear?"
Present Mic's words had barely restrained malice to them and although the other students wouldn't be able to tell, due to his 'How not to be a Dense Protagonist' skill Izuku was acutely aware of it and made a note to not tick off Present Mic in the future.
Tenya:"Thank you very much, please continue."
Izuku:'So it's like a trap in old games, you get punished for walking into one. Note to self avoid at all costs...My life is turning more into an RPG every day I swear, I wonder if eventually cheat codes will work? Hm. Up up down down left right left right b a start?'

Well, that was certainly NOT was Izuku was expecting when he thought of the cheat code from one of his old games, though he didn't really know what he WAS expecting.
Izuku:'The sheer amount of uses this skill has are amazing, but I feel as if it will rarely ever make a useful occurrence, with both of my abilities at the ready being able to change small things around me won't make much of an impact compared to just using Phoenix or OFA'
Present Mic:"That's all I got for you today! I'll sign off with a little present, a sample of our school motto! As general Napoleon Bonaparte once laid down "A true hero is one who overcomes life's misfortunes" Mhm now that's a tasty soundbye! You ready to go beyond? Let's hear a Plus Ultra! Good luck hope you practice hitting more than just books!"
After Present Mic finished her speech the exit to the busses that would take them to the testing sites lit up and students started filing out the door.
*At Battle Center B*
As Izuku stepped off of the bus he heard another chime in his head as a system notification popped up in front of him
