Chapter 4

"So, tell me a bit about the Intelli family, Garaki." Sho ordered the ancient doctor as he bit down on his cookie. Why was he eating a cookie? Cause he was a part of the dark side, and dark side has cookies!

"Intelli family is one of the earlier families that has fallen under All for One's influence. But it was only about twenty to thirty years ago when they risen to the top of technological industries in Japan, they are also a shareholder of I-Island. Of course all of those were made possible due to help of All for One, who generously destroyed their rivals behind the scenes and make sure that they knew that he could do the same to them as well, anytime he wanted." Garaki cheerfully explained as if he was talking about some fun things he did with a friend in his youth rather than the fact that his master's past murders.

They probably were the same thing for him.

"Will they be difficult to handle?" That was the important part.

"Not the parents. They know of All for One's power and are aware the sheer amount of dirt we have on them. But their daughter might try something, she had been just born the last time your father had dealt with Intelli family. So she probably doesn't know much about what we can do further than some stories that are probably nothing more than some scary bedtime stories for her." Garaki shrugged his shoulders as he explained.

The information wasn't exactly what Sho wanted but he could work with it. It would have been easiest if the whole family was afraid of him but the daughter being unaware of the sheer amount of shit she'd be in if she angered him could allow him to get her on his sides through more… subtle means. He needed practice on that front.

"I also heard about some interesting things about your quirk from Kurogiri." Garaki looked at Sho.

"Yeah, quite impressive. I didn't know that All for One could also analyze the quirks it takes."

"That's because it can't." The ancient doctor deadpanned.

"Huh?" An appropriate response from Shin.

"It was one of the only weaknesses of All for One. He had to experiment with the quirks he got his hands on. To train with them until they were at a respectable level. Sure he had gotten so good at it that he could use a new quirk somewhat masterfully within a day or two but he still needed time to understand how they worked." Garaki explained with a far off look in his eyes, reminiscent of the days where his master would experiment with his quirks with excitement like a child who just got a new toy.

"Then how come that I can do it?" Sho asked. Sure he was happy that he could, but not knowing why left a bad taste in his mouth.

"I have a theory about it. Do you know how I clone quirks?" Garaki asked with a mischievous smile, at which Sho could only shake his head in negative.

"Nomus. We put the quirk inside a Nomu, let the body synchronize with the quirk for a few days and then I clone the Nomu." Garaki laughed madly as he explained.

"There are some drawbacks of course. Cloned quirks are always weaker than the original and on can not possess the original and the cloned quirk at the same time. As far as the body is concerned, those two quirks simply would be the same." Over a hundred year old doctor explained the process, though Sho had one problem.

"How is that related to my All for One being different than father's?"

"You are not a Nomu. Sure you are closer to one than a human with all the modifications we did to it but you are still not one. In simplest way to explain, this new ability of All for One is not a new ability but your very own quirk. The one that you were 'born' with." Garaki explained and made finger quotas as he said 'born'.

"That doesn't really make sense." Sho grimaced. A new quirk of a child did not simply came into existence out of nowhere. It was a result of the way the DNA of mother and father combined. With the exceptions of mutations like Eri who got quirks completely unrelated to anyone they were related to.

"No, no it doesn't." Garaki sighed with disappointment. "But unfortunately, it is the only explanation we have right now." The old doctor said as he went back to typing on his computer.

"Is there anything you would like to say, sir?"

"Yes, there are two things that I want you to do." Sho said as he picked out a jacket for himself, he had to look stylish when he would meet his soon to be servants.

"Firstly about Nomus…"

"They are great aren't they?" Garaki smiled and started to shake like an excited child.

"They are." Sho admitted as horrifying they might be, Nomus were impressive beyond any other scientific development since the beginning of the quirk era. They were quite horrifying and disgusting too.

"But I want you to focus more on finding a way to make people capable of carrying several quirks without any damage to their mental health or shortening their lifespans." If he was gonna have super powered minions, he would rather have ones that were aesthetically more pleasing and that could actually think for themselves.

"It will be difficult but I should be able to do something about it." Garaki sighed, disappointed that his young master didn't want more Nomus.

"Also, please keep your ears open for any potential recruits with actual potential. I'm talking about those who can be more than grunts." Sho said and Garaki had to agree that it was a good idea. They could recruit an army of nameless mooks but against any competent enemy, they would need strong generals as well.

"I shall keep a look out for recruits then." Garaki turned to his master as Kurogiri opened a portal. "I shall see you after your work with Intelli family is done I believe, sir." This made him happy. The ancient doctor was excited like he hadn't been since All for One's death against the Symbol of Peace. Excited for the new changes.

"Yeah, I'll be heading out now." Sho smiled and waved as he went into the portal.

I apologize for not updating for a while, I have to prepare for university exams so I don't have much time to write. As in I can barely look at stories once a week, much less work on them. I should once more pick up the pace after two to two and a half months though.
