4 Grandparents!

Masaru POV

It's been almost 3 years since my first meeting with my cousin. The first meeting I remember of course. The little toddler Ochaco visited a whole lot ever since then and we would always 'play' until we are completely exhausted.

Game of tag, hide and seek. spontaneous racing and at some point even climbing trees. The climbing always brought us a good scolding whenever we were caught but like a good cousin should do, I convinced her to tag along and just do it every single time.

Things like running and climbing to the point of total exhaustion. Normal kids probably wouldn't take it that far but I did it even on days when Ochaco didn't visit.

This might sound a bit silly but after a few months I noticed that my cousin couldn't catch me anymore. Both my stamina and my speed seem to have slightly increased.

Of course it's probably inaccurate as hell, measuring your development in this way but it's the only way I have since I don't have neither a watch nor a smartphone of my own and taking my mom's is a big 'NO!' as she has shown me when I tried.

On the other hand, mom unexpectedly helped me with my quirk problem. Every few days when my pestering becomes unbearable she would take me to an abandoned place, which was not our garden and where I could 'play' with my quirk.

For a long time I could only strengthen the gravitational force in a certain radius around me. No matter how I tried to control the energy that I released out of my body, it would never do what I wanted it to do.

At least until I overheard my mom mumbling something to herself. The light she used back then to protect us, when I lost control, wasn't able to wrap around people like it did in the beginning.

At first it was just like a window, that would appear in front of her and leave every other direction unprotected but the trick was, controlling the power before releasing it.

Easier said than done of course. Was I supposed to say out loud what I wanted it to do before releasing that strange force outside of my body?

Perhaps name my attacks and chant the name so It would know what I want? I needed to try and train for quite some time but after a few months I succeeded in establishing a control over the force before releasing it.

Of course mom noticed that almost immediately and went totally doting parent mode saying shit like 'My son is a genius!' or 'He must be the most talented 3 year old boy in the world!'.

I really felt embarrassed since I was 23 mentally but I couldn't tell her that. Anyways, like it is usually the case, once you solve a problem 3 new problems appear.

The first one being the range. My control range was far shorter than the area, my quirk could affect when I just release it. The further away my goal, the weaker became my control.

The second was concentration. Activating my quirk in a controlled manner, demanded concentration, in accordance to the range and complicity of what I wanted to achieve. At times when I overdid it, a splitting headache would announce my current limit to me.

The third problem being the consumption. Whenever I was taken to 'play' with my quirk, mom would make me eat an unusual amount of food.

According to her, the use of quirks would deplete energy from the body, so I would need to eat more after activating my quirk multiple times in succession.

Well that wasn't the case for me. I could literally feel how a strange force was the origin of the energy, used for my quirk. Of course, no one else knows this fact, but it got me curious.

The only explanation coming to my mind is, that it is the same force one would gain when eating a devil fruit. After all my quirk was the Zushi Zushi NO MI and not gravity control.

When thinking about this the next thoughts to appear were whether I lost the ability to swim or if I could use my quirk even when in water. Luckily the answers are no and yes respectively.

An unexpected advantage of having that force in my body, is that it's way more abundant than the energy my body would have to offer and although not directly noticeable, said force would regenerate more than what was used whenever I completely exhaust it.

So if half of it is used up, it regenerates the missing half but if all gets used up I will have more than I had before. It's not overwhelmingly more but more is still more.

But the biggest change in these three years is probably school. This year I am turning 6 so I had to start going to elementary school.

It's not all bad if we ignore the fact that it is a huge waste of time but on the other hand my classroom teacher is a young and pretty woman who is very kind to us 'kids'.

This is probably very shameless of me but every task or exercise we were given was aced by me in record time, gaining me the title of genius.

'If only they knew.'

But there was something else worthy of note. Or rather someone else. An arrogant bastard, with a head full of blonde hair, red eyes and an explosive temper to boot, is in the same classroom.

It's by far nowhere near the level he will reach when high school begins but hearing him shout whenever he felt like he lost against me, despite me not even competing, is getting annoying.

'At least he hasn't started cursing just yet...'

But there is something else. If the 5 episodes have taught me anything than it would be that wherever Bakugo or Midoriya are, the other one is nearby. Now guess who is going in the parallel class next to ours.

Just thinking about it makes me feel exhausted. This is clearly a Sasuke-Naruto-level fuckery. 'DEKU!' 'Kacchan?!' Every single break for the whole first half of the school year!

*Ding*

"The plane will be landing shortly. We ask every passenger to move back to their sit and put on the security belt."

'Finally.'

It's currently summer break time, so mom planned for us to visit my grandparents for a few days, since an airport was finally constructed near their village. During the past years we only saw each other occasionally on a video chat so this was probably a sign to meet them in person. At least according to mom.

For some reason I never thought about or noticed that my family name is Kozuki until I heard the names of my grandparents. Oden and Toki.

Ironically they didn't look anything like the two from One piece. My grandpa is an old strict looking man, with long white hair tied into a ponytail. He also has a well maintained mustache, which at no point outgrows his upper lip in any direction.

Grandma on the other hand has a very youthful aura around her, despite her wrinkles and grey hair. She binds her hair together over her head, smiles whenever she can and is probably the person with the sweetest personality in both my lives.

After finally getting off the plane and receiving our baggage, mom took me by the hand and walked towards to elderly people. I recognized them as my grandparents but there is something that completely caught me off guard.

As we were coming closer I noticed something above grandpa's head that almost made me shout.

Above his head, there was a transparent light screen with the word 'instructor' written on it.

(AN: Hey! Author here. Sorry for being a bit late but I decided to write two chapters for my current main project since I am getting close to finish the first half of that ff. Hope you enjoy the story!)
