1 The Announcement

Outside, the birds chirped their sweet songs as the town of Brisbane Australia began to wake up on Day 13 of Summer Vacation. Bluey Heeler, a 6 year old pup, yawned and got out of bed and looked out the window. The suns rays came in. She went to Bingo's bed and woke her up. She got up and looked at her tablet. It was 7:30. She went on Spotify and put on "Lakme: The Flower Duet" by Leo Deliebes. They walked out of their room and went downstairs to see if their parents were up. No one was around. So, it looked like they weren't up yet. They sneakily went to the TV and switched it on to cartoons. "Chutney Chimp! Next! On ABC Kids." Bingo was happy as a kid who just woke up on Easter morning, or maybe even Christmas when Verandah Santa came down and gave them presents. Chilli then came downandsaw the kids watching the TV and Chutney Chimp. "Morning kids." She said. "Morning Mum!" They replied. She went into the kitchen to make brekkie. Bandit came down next. "Hey kids.Watching Chutney Chimp I see? Well, in a little bit I need to watch the news." "Ok Dad." Bluey said, keeping her eyes glued to the TV. He nodded and went into the kitchen to. "Morning Bandit." "Morning Chilli." They kissed. "You tell them yet?" Bandit nodded "no". "Naw. Not yet. After brekkie I'll tell them. Oh boy, will they be surprised!" Chilli nodded. She couldn't wait to hear bluejay screeching.

After brekkie, Bandit cleared his throat. "Ok kids, here's the scoop: I know you have been begging the heck outta us to go on a holiday outta the country..." "AWWWWWWW! Were not going!" Bingo said, downtrodden. "No, no! Hear me out girls: Mum and me pulled some strings and we got ourselves a trip..." The pups bopped up and down. "...to AMERICA!!" The girls screamed and yelled like bluejays. "YES!!!!!!!" "THE US!!!! BINGO, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!" "ME NIETHER BLUEY!! WHAHOO!!!!!" The parents smiled at each other. The kids asked, and the wish was granted. "Uss." Bandit said silently in victory.

("Uss" is an expression used in the show.)
