22 The Power of the Blue Soul Vampire

The area have fallen into darkness, dread enshrouded the entire souls of men and women in the scene. They could do nothing but just to wait for their death. The townfolks huddled themselves as they pushed against each other. Their legs trembled as their doom was fast approaching.

Celina, her team and the townfolks were sandwiched by the throng of demons and the cereberus. She looked over her shoulders then saw the cerberus' head poking out over the woods, it was sluggish since it will take time to cross through the trees.

However the throng of demons were quick, the mages then readied their arms and casted their spells. They shot out fireballs, water shots, electric bolts hoping to slow the demons, however the demons were stubborn, also it was hard to keep up with their numbers.

Celina had no weapon nor mana remaining on her hands, but she knew she can only do one thing. She breathed in and puffed her chest up, she hollored as loud as it can be. "BLUE!" Her scream blended with the muddled noise of the crowd.

Shiela sneered. "Cel, this is not the time to yell mindlessly." She said.

Few spears got flung and struck a group of the mages, they got skewered like barbecue and were sent flying, fresh red blood were sprayed unto their faces, Celina's face contorted when she realized she could do nothing but just to observe.

Behind her, Turner lent Anna towards the Baron, the Baron was now at ease.

The boy held a smile upon her sister. "I'm glad you're fine Anna." He said.

Anna's eyes lit up, she went down from Turner's arms and hugged him.

They were about to get engulfed by the throng of demons, a group of soldiers stepped forward, hoisting their shields and blades, lining around the crowd and intercepted the demons, however they could only fight for so long, the swarm of demon on the distance were endless. The soldiers cut down the demons attacking, yet at some point they were slained, the demons dugged their guts using their sharp claws and then fed upon their innards.

Celina almost threw up after seeing it up close. The townsfolks cringed as well and were disgusted, but fear overwhelmed them more since it was now their turn to be eaten.

A demon slipped through the soldiers, it quickly strode towards Celina. It leaped close to her and gripped her arms tight. She tried to kick it but the demon didn't budge. The demon released one of her arm, then he lunged his claws into her gut, luckily she stopped it on time inflicting only a shallow stab, it holed her clothes. The demon continued to thrust further, blood trickled down from her stomach. She sneered, if she were to do nothing it could get buried deep and she well meet her end.

Turner squeezed through the crowd just to come close to her. "Celina!" He said worriedly.

Celina groaned as the claws slowly entered into her stomach.

In a sudden, the demon was engulfed in blue flames, just in time, a pale man descended close to Celina. "What is it woman?" Blue said.

The demon turned to dust, she sighed in relief when she broke free from the demon's grip.

Celina's fearful face were wiped away, her eyes lit up as she leaped upon Blue as though about to hug him, yet Blue halted her by holding her face.

"Listen woman, I have something important to ask you." Blue said.

Celina slapped his arm away from her face, she had a restless look. "We have no time for that, use your power to deal with these guys."

Blue turned his head to gaze at the swarm of demons. "I don't feel like it." He then returned his eyes to her. "Anyway tell me everything you know about the sword of righteousness."

Celina dropped her head, she had both of her palms touch each other, while in a praying gesture she begged. "Please, Blue just this once."

Blue sighed. "Don't worry, when you're in danger, I'll pull you out of here.

"Then what about these people?" Celina said worriedly.

Blue chuckled. "Just leave these dirtrags on their own."

Some of the townsfolks who heard it frowned, Turner stepped forward and went close to them.

"Celina, who is this guy?" Turner said fiercely.

Celina stared at Turner. "He's my ... " She paused as she tried to come up with a word that defines their connection. However she gasped when she realized they had no time to deal with these casual talks. The soldiers that held the demons were collapsing. Blood showered around the place, a drop of it landed on Blue's lips, he then licked it.

Then four demons pounced upon Celina, Blue struck them down effortlessly when his palm spouted out blue flames upon them, the demons were burnt into crisp.

Celina's eyebrows flinched when an idea struck her, she smiled widely. "That's right Blue why don't we make a deal, I'll tell you everything I know about the sword and you'll deal with all the demons in this town." She said shrewdly.

Blue gave her a long, insufferable stare, then after reaching a decision he unfurled his wings and soared into the sky. "That's a promise woman."

Celina tilted her head to the sky, she then chuckled with a nod. "Of course."

Blue turned his eyes away from her, then he glowered upon the endless swarm of demons below him, he spread out his limbs on mid air. "You petty life forms, your world shall burn!" Blue declared.

He stretched his arms aiming upon the oceans of demons, then in a sudden, bright blue flames engulfed and swirled around his body. His palms spew out a giant torrents of blue flames, it fiercely struck the ground and spread out across the throng, the demons wallowed upon the flames, mercilessly burning them alive. Blue then changed the direction of his flames, sweeping the area clean.

Bluish glow lit up the entire scenery, the townsfolks gazed at the scene with their jaws hanging. Celina smiled as she observed a significant numbers of demon were being decimated.

Turner had an eyes of disbelief. "Even the strongest mage don't have that much mana to create this spell."

"I don't think Blue uses spells. He's something else." Celina's eyes were brimming with interest.

Turner stared upon her, he felt somewhat irked. " Celina who the hell is that person?"

"He's a vampire, who I accidentally summoned using a light call." She said.

Moments later, Blue stopped firing, then the ground were smoldered into soot, some traces of fires riddled the place, burnt corpses splayed all over the place, literally the entire area went clear of any demons.

He made his descent infront of Celina, then he rolled his wings and hid it upon his back. "So, spill the beans." Blue demanded.

Celina chuckled. "Well, I said all the demons."

Blue smacked his lips.

They felt a slight tremor, they turned their heads to their side.

They saw the cerberus finally left the woods, it stomped its giant foot upon the clear ground, the townsfolks quickly left the place and were headed to the mansion.

Celina and Blue were left alone, standing as they stared upon the giant creature, the crowd were passing by them.

Blue sighed as though tired, he advanced casually to the cerberus.

Celina cheered from behind. "Go Blue, you can do it."

Blue got irked from her annoying voice, he tried his best to ignore her and deal with the creature as quick as possible. He inspected the bawling monster, the three headed hound affirmed to the greek mythology of the ancient rome, funny enough he was there when the story was written. However, he quickly reminded himself he no longer cares about anything, but only those things that could kill him.

Behind Blue, Celina was left with Turner, Celina noticed the townsfolks have now returned inside the mansion.

Turner approached her and gripped her arm. "Celina we need to get out of here."

Celina shook her head. "Don't worry, I'll be fine."

Turner persisted and about to drag her, however Celina resisted. "Turner." Her voice slightly heavy.

Turner stared at her, concerned. "We need to leave."

Celina frowned a bit. "I'll be fine here." She said stubbornly.

It was the first time Turner got frowned upon by her, he had an eyes of envy when he stared to Blue's back, he paused for a bit then sighed. "I understand." He turned around with a sneer as he trailed off.

Blue was now close to the cerberus, he tucked in his arms on the pockets of his coat, casually strolling, he glared upon the cerberus.

When he came close enough, he rose his sharp nails, and in a flash, flew towards the cerberus.

When he was near, he slashed its leg, it left a gash upon the creature's thigh, with some blood spilling out. The cerberus snarled from pain, the beast drove his attention to Blue, then quickly swung its clawed paws unto him.

Blue got hit and flung downwards, he struck the ground like a meteor, dust plumed up and underneath him left a crater.

Inside the mansion, the people were spectacting through the windows, they weren't sure whether to root for him or not but as how things stand, they were slightly worried.

"Hey is he gonna be okay?" One said.

"I don't know, nobody can survive that hit." Another replied.

Turner hid a smirk as he stared at Blue, he then directed his eyes to Celina, she seems unperturbed, in fact she seemed to be enjoying it.

On the distance, Blue groaned as he lied flat on the ground, rubbles covered his body, the attack broke his ribs and bones yet in a second they were healed. He lifted himself up then glared upon the creature. "You bastard, that hurted a lot." He said.

The cerberus lurched and leaped upon him, it used its paw to stomp over his body. Blue quickly flew away, evading the foot, but in a sudden, the cerberus stooped and one of its head lunged its mouth upon him. Blue got caught by its sharp teeth and was gnawed, blood rained down from its jaws, while his flesh and bones were grinded to bits. The cerberus' neck waved downward as he got swallowed into its maw.

The crowd from the mansion gasped upon what they just saw.

The cerberus made its steps towards the mansion, Celina tightly stared at the creature and did not move a muscle, she felt no fear rather she was confident, but anxiety were prickling around her skin.

When the cerberus was about to come close to her, all of a sudden it flailed and wailed in anguish, it opened its mouth wide and the darkness inside its maw glowed in blue, its insides were burning like a roaring furnace. The beast cried in pain, it spun around until blue streaming flames rushed out of its gut, bursting its stomach open. The cerberus then ceased its movements and collapsed heavily on the ground, after it fell, it sent a tremor on the earth, shaking the entire area. The beast's lifeless mouth released streams of smoke.

Then coming from its body was Blue, who was soaked from demon's blood, there were bits of innards sliding off his face and clothes. He spat, disgusted from the pungent blood, it tasted like water from the sewers. He burnt himself with his flames to dry his clothes, and just like that the moisture was gone.

Celina scampered close to him. "Blue I'm glad you came here." She said with mirth.

Blue grunted. "Well I'm not, now tell me what you know about the sword." He said

Celina pouted and narrowed her eyes. "Come on Blue why do you have to be so mean all the time, I know you care about me."

Blue glared to her coldly. "Woman do you wanna die?"

Celina chuckled nervously. "I was just joking, but I'll tell you once you get rid of the last demon on town."

Blue gritted his teeth, annoyed, he then laid his eyes upon her soaked robe, he didn't want to go the same trouble as he did a few days ago. He rose and aimed his arm at her. "Woman don't move." He said.

Celina complied, for some reason, one time his flames brought no harm upon her clothes, so she trusted Blue on this one, since she sensed no malintent on his eyes.

Turner ran towards the two, he was still several meters away, when he noticed the pale man was attempting to fire at Celina, he sneered and gripped his blade. "Tsk." He then leaped between the two of them and unsheathed his sword. He furrowed his eyebrows upon Blue. "What do you intend to do!" He said angrily.

Blue got irked. "Move!" He demanded.

Turner was still, he hoisted his blade to his chest. "Celina who is this man?" He said.

Celina sighed behind him, she nudged him away. "Turner, it's okay."

Turner urgently turned to her. "Celina who is he? Is he an enemy or a friend?" He said

Celina still didn't have any answers on her mind, her lips got frozen from his question. Celina turned her glinting crystal eyes towards Blue. "I guess... he's my friend." She said hesitantly.

Blue stared back at her with his usual flat expression, he didn't seem to have any reaction, but his posture loosened up a bit.

Turner got bugged upon seeing the villainous man, he turned his annoyed face away in silence.

Blue sighed. "Let's just get this over with." He fired his flames upon her and she got engulfed with it.

Celina was wrapped with the dancing blue flames, she gazed at her arm and noticed she was unharmed, she felt no pain but only a pleasing tepid sensation dancing on her skin, she sensed the flames were conscious as though it was breathing. "It's warm." Her eyes lit in blue as it reflected the flame's tint.
