8 A Trouble in Town

The tall grey castle of Thesur was now a desolate place. In the throne room there were colorful stainglasses on the walls which were adorned with green banners and jewelries. Glinting gold chandeliers hanged above the intricately designed ceiling.

However the surroundings was murky, and somewhat threatening, the only source of light in the room were the faint rainbow light being filtered through the stainglass. The only noise being resounded through out the halls were the pleading cry of the masked demon.

The demon kissed the floor as he begged for his life, infront of him was the mighty throne which sat on a high ascent, there was a staircase that led to it. King Dersim gloriously sat upon it with a frown as he rested his head on his arm. On his blond hair was a shimmering crown, he had a thin facial hair, he was middle aged, with some creases on his forehead it was hard to tell if he was mad or it was just his casual look. But the demon infront of him was nervous for his life.

"I'm really sorry your highness, I failed my mission." The masked demon said with an anxious voice.

King Dersim grunted. "It will be problematic if she manages to acquire the Sword of Righteousness. He said with his natural deep voice.

"Ke ke ke, I think we should punish him your highness." One of the demon beside Dersim said.

There were five marble columns that stood beside the throne and another five on the other side. They were built high but not as high as the throne, and on each columns stood a silhouette of demons that varied in sizes on shape. They were referred to as the ten Demon Pages, the strongest demons King Dersim had in his arsenal.

The demons will follow every command of Dersim as he was the one who summoned them, however the only price to pay was the downfall of his kingdom and the lives of many. But in exchange he had a massive army of demons that can rival the Empire.

"I think you should send us your highness, I'll quickly dispose of the woman and the immortal guy, but I think its just a ruse, everything has a weakness." Another said.

King Dersim shook his head. "I won't send any of you yet, you ten shall stay here and watch the capital. The Empire and rest of the nation will make an alliance soon enough. I will rather entrust this to the elite and the middle demons."

The sun were at its peak, the sky became a clear blue sapphire with wisps of fluffy clouds drifting on its face.

"Listen woman, don't do anything stupid." Blue said as he stood infront of her draping drenched clothes.

Celina drew her annoyed look close to him. "Blue do you plan to have me walk to the town naked?"

Blue gripped her shoulder and pushed her away. "Well just watch."

He then faced her clothes and aimed his arm upon it, he bathed her clothes with his blue flames, and it burnt bright across the woods.

Celina's jaw fell as her eyes broadened, she furrowed her eyebrow towards Blue. "Blue! That's it give me your clothes!" She raised her voice and tried to pull on his trousers.

"Hold your horses pervert woman, look." He pointed his sharp nail upon her dress that were on flames, the flames then vanished yet her dress was completely fine and intact, it plumed out a bit of faint smoke, but there was no burn nor stains on it.

Celina touched it, it was warm and the most important thing was, it was now dry. She smiled satisfyingly. Then Blue dragged her arm as they continued on their path. "Now no time to waste."

Celina pulled her arm and retrieved it from him. "Hey let me dress first."

After she wore her robe and trousers, both then strolled as usual across the woods. Celina returned his coat unto Blue's arms. She had a shy look as she gave it. "Thank you." She said with a hint of hesitation.

Blue calmly recieved it and put it unto himself. "What I want to hear is if we're far or close to our destination." He said.

"Don't worry, we're almost there." She said then continued on her path.

As they silently both walked on their paces, Celina was starting to feel uneasy, she furtively glanced on Blue, the moment Blue stares back, she pulls her eyes away.

"What woman, you have something to say?" Blue said.

Celina nodded weakly. "Can you stay in here for a moment." She said.

Blue held a dubious look, he crossed his arms on his chest. "You're not planning to delay me again are you?"

Celina shook her head. "I promise, this is will only take three minutes."

Blue gasped in rage. "If you take more than three, I'll kill you personally and find another Light Mage myself." He said without reluctance.

Celina tilted her head upward as though defying him. "Goodluck with that then."

She walked away, entered the bushes and vanished from his sight.

Blue tapped the ground with his foot as he broadened his patience.

He sniffed the air, he smelled blood in the wind wafting to his nosetrils and it was somewhere close, he lifted a smirk. It had him at ease after realizing the girl wasn't lying after all, they were close to a settlement.

Celina plodded through the bushes, when she got far enough she shook her head to and fro making sure no one was present. She gently pulled her trousers down but then she halted when there was a rustling noise on the bushes.

She scowled upon the dancing bush and took a rock close to her foot. "Blue, you like recieving attacks right? I'm more inclined to give it to you."

However she halted her throw when it was a boy who emerged from the bushes. He was around the age of thirteen, he was well dressed perhaps a son of the rich folks, what got her attention was the boy was in a frenzy as though running for his life.

"Miss run! There's a monster." He said breathlessly.

Celina heaved her trousers up with a slight blush from blunder, but she got taken aback when a demon appeared, it seemed to be pursuing the boy.

She recognized it was one of the bottom ranked demons, they weren't strong compared to the other demons but were more capable than an ordinary men. She gazed up at her hand and tried to summon a mana, yet a faint glow of runes appeared around her body. Then it momentarily concealed itself from her skin.

She sneered, then the boy got close and hid behind her. "Miss you're a mage right? Please help me dispose of him."

Celina gazed over her shoulders and chuckled nervously. "Well, due to circumstances I can't use my magic."

The demon wore an armor hewn from animal bones, it held wooden bat on its arm and drew near to the both of them. The demon's rough eyebrow flinched as though she recognized her. "Aren't you Celina?" The demon said.

Celina sneered, she pulled the boy's arm then turned tails as she dragged him.

The demon then laughed from amusement. "You're not going anywhere." The demon sprinted on their trails.

As they plodded through the bushes and tall grasses, the demon was closing in fast, it was only a matter of time before it reaches them.

"Miss do you have any plans?" The boy said worriedly.

Celina nodded. "Just run fast."

She heard the steps of the demon were gaining in speed, the boy on her clasp slowed her, however she knew she was close to her destination. When they made a turn, she saw Blue who faced his back upon her.

She smiled, then hurried her steps, after she arrived close to him she panted and rested herself.

"Woman, that took around five minutes you sh--." He cutted his sentence and raised his eyebrow upon seeing she was worn out and was with a boy. When he moved his head to the side he saw an incoming demon. He was about to smile, but didn't bother when he realized it was just a fodder. "Ah, those guys again but disappointingly this one is weak. I won't even let him test his strength upon me."

"Move, human!" The demon was charging in and was posing to strike with his bat.

When the demon made a swing an explosion were heard, the demon got surprised when his bat struck nothing and upon a closer inspection of his weapon, it got burnt to shreds with the exception of the handle. "What the-?" The demon said confused.

Blue scratched his head and then pointed his finger upon the demon. "Hey go back where you came and tell your superiors to come here."

The demon gritted his teeth and launched an attack upon him as though to capture him. Blue halted the demon when he extended his arm and held the demon's chest. Suddenly a bluish glow got effused on his palms, and when blue flames erupted from his arm, it blew up the demon's body. His burnt bodyparts rained around the area.

Celina chuckled while the boy's mouth went agape.

"That was so cool, hey can I ask for your name?" The boy said excitedly.

Blue sighed. "Your not worthy to know my name." He said calmly.

The boy opened his mouth and let out a noise as though disappointed.

Celina then pulled the boy into her, she stooped and levelled her sight into his. "Anyway forget about him, so what happened back here?"

The boy's face fell. "Well, the town is now done for, the demons have taken over and the mages were forced to hide inside the town hall."

Celina gasped and sneered, she then rushed to take a view of the town. When she arrived on the border of the forest, she gazed upon the whole town of Renza. She had a clear view since she found herself on a high altitude, there was a path to the town below but it was a steep rocky terrain.

The settlement was a collection of houses hewn by stone bricks, while some were built from dried clays, most buildings were only two floored. Only a breeze of dust roamed on the streets since they were awfully empty. There were some traces of bloods upon it however there were no bodies on sight. The mansion that stuck out on the far border of the town was clearly distinct with its broad and tall structure.

What made it stood out more was the swirling barrier of magic that surrounds the building and there was a swarm of demons outside of it, battering the barrier with their weapons.

Blue and the boy strutted beside her.

The boy pointed the mansion on the distance. "They have been attacking the town hall since this noon, you can find all the mages who have survived is inside that building."

Seeing their barrier can still hold out, Celina was relieved she slouched a bit. Her urgent face stared at Blue. "Blue, help me out eliminate these demons."

Blue gazed at her with a lifeless eyes. "I refuse, those demons are weak and they aren't worth my time. Why don't you take care of them yourself." He said

Celina narrowed her eyes towards him with a pout. "Well what if I die in that commotion, would you let that happen?" She said.

Blue pointed his sharp nail infront of her face. "Woman, I'm not your slave." Blue said coldly, he unrolled his wings then glided and dropped down to the town below.

"Woah, he can fly?" The boy mused him.

Celina sighed. "Looks like, I have to deal with this myself."
