7 A Glimmer of Hope

Below the skies of the infant twilight was the woods that stretched out across the terrain, there were brief glimpses of sunlight drilling through the gaps of the forest then it reached upon their bodies.

Blue had an unsated look as he trailed Celina, who hummed her way through the woods. "Hey woman why do we need to go to that town?" He said annoyed.

"I have to meet with my other coworkers." She replied.

Just when some glimpses of hope appeared infront of him after being teleported from his previous world, he thought it was upon his grasp yet it was moving away from his reach. It was a nauseating thought for him. Once he found a better alternative for this woman, he won't be hesitant to dispose of her.

"Your time will come woman." He said as he glared at Celina's back.

Celina halted her steps, then she turned her head to him. "Hmm, did you say something?"

Blue sighed, he continued strolling and passed by her. "Woman, you know I'm quite serious when I say I'm gonna end everyone on this world, so quit yapping and hurry your pace." He said roughly.

"Oh really? Maybe instead of killing you, I'll send you where you came from." She said, stomping her foot walking.

Both then heard a gurgling noise on the distance, it was the sound of the rippling waters, which they presumed was a river. Celina's eyes lit up as she ran towards the sound, leaving Blue behind.

As they left the forest, they encountered a shimmering, calm river that reflected the bright crimson tinge of the sunrise.

Seeing Celina excited like a child who got her new toy, Blue became impatient since it was obvious she was now up to something. "Hey woman, what are you planning to do?"

Celina gazed at him with a narrowed eyes. "Why do you have to call me woman, geez, I have a name you know." She said.

Blue grunted in frustration as he pointed his sharp nails at her. "Don't tell me, woman are you going to eat my time again?"

She turned to him with a fierce look. "Okay "man", listen up, this "woman" has to clean herself. I mean look at me." She said as she motioned at her grimy robe.

Blue smacked his lips. "Don't blame me if one day humanity became exctinct."

Celina stuck out her tongue. "Yeah, and when that happens good luck living your life alone for eternity."

Blue sat upon a trunk and calmed himself, he wanted to burst but he knew he had to get a grip. He was already clenching his jaws as he glowered upon Celina.

Celina stood on the edge of the river, she was about to take her dress off, but then, chills were sent on the surface of her skin since she could feel a looming stare, she turned her attention to Blue and noticed his cold glare.

She frowned upon him. "Hey Blue, give me some privacy!" She yelled.

Blue chuckled with a scoff. "If you're thinking I would lust upon you, you're severely mistaken. I had hundreds of wives and even they had more curves than you."

In a sudden, a rock were thrown upon his face, it smacked upon his cheeks and causing his head to get swayed sidewards. His nose bled, then he growled as he looked at Celina.

She held several rocks on her arms, and her face was furious, she won't hesitate to hurl another one it seems.

"Hey! What did you do that for?!" He seethed in rage.

Celina readied her pose to throw another stone. "You're immortal right Blue? So there's no need for me hold back." Her voice were coated with ire.

When she threw another one, Blue moved his head and dodged the rock. "Okay, fine! I'm gonna leave." He spat, then lifted himself and dipped into the woods.

"I thought you weren't reasonable." She said.

She unslung the robe from her back, then darted her eyes to and fro, inspecting if Blue was still around. When the coast was clear she removed her clothes then her under garments and dropped it on the river bank. Her silky skin glimmered some of the light shone from the river.

She dove on the waters and after a splash, she moaned satedly. "Too many people are giving me stress, its nice to relax for now."

As Blue ambled aimlessly on the woods, he could not erase the woman from his mind. At this point, he thought she was just wasting his time. It would be better if he were to find a town early on so he could gather some information, specifically hexing and Light magic. It was the only thing that concerned him for now.

Blue sneered. "I need to find a town myself, the woman has proven herself to be a burden."

If he were to unroll his wings and fly, he wouldn't be able to do it very well with the crowns and branches on the way.

So he sunk his sharp nails upon a trunk then started climbing up like a lizard to a perch. When he stepped upon the branch, he leaped as high as he could and were now above the forest, then he unfurled his wings and hovered over the woods.

He started to scour the horizon with his eagle like eyesight, seeking for any signs of settlement, however he found none, he tried looking on his sides, then slowly spun and everything he could see were crowded trees and mountains poking out over the land.

Abruptly, he heard an annoying squeal from below, he knew who it was and was tired to even bother with it.

"Blue! You pervert!"

The river was just beneath him, and Celina was there who shyly sunk her naked self on the waters with the exception of her creasy displeased face. "Blue get away, I knew it you have an interest towards me!" She continued.

Blue scowled and ended up blasting the air with blue flames beside him to quell his rage, he spoke none, hovered away submissively, leaving her alone.

"What interest! I abandoned those feelings long time ago." He said.

On the river below, Celina was disgruntled, she lost her mood to bath further, she rose up and waded to the land. She then groped her clothes and lifted them up, she noticed it was covered with dirt and mud.

"I can't continue my journey with my clothes looking like this."

Celina approached the edge of the bank naked, she wore her under garments which covered her feminine parts, however it was still skimpy and exposed most of her skin, especially on her thighs and navel. She crouched, then soaked and rinsed her robe and trousers, she hoped Blue would leave her alone for now.

After she was done washing it, she hanged her drenched clothes on the nearest branch within her reach, it would take about half a day to have them dry out, and hopefully the sun would be glowing steadily on the sky.

She heard a whizzing noise of the wind and footsteps behind her, she got startled and covered her body with her arms.

"It seems you're done so let's get going." Blue said urgently.

She spun as she held an embarrased look. "Hey Blue, can't you see I'm naked!" She raised her voice.

Blue turned around to respect her wishes. "Anyway enough dawdling around, I've roamed the areas and still haven't seen any settlement. " His eyes became dubious and his words cold. "Could it be? That you're intentionally delaying me, and what ever it is you're planning, I'll get at the bottom of it."

Celina sighed. "You're overthinking this Blue, look my clothes are still wet, do you want to travel with someone who looked like she rolled on the mud. I'm very well known through out these lands, and I have a reputation."

Blue sneered. "You know, every minute I spent with you is more painful than a hundred years in isolation."

Celina snorted as though displeased, she pointed her finger at his back. "You think, I like your company? The only reason why I'm hanging out with you is because I don't want you to start a rampage."

Blue closed his eyes, he suppressed his boiling emotions. "Fine, let's get this over with. "

He gazed at the clothes and it was soaking wet, with droplets raining from its hem. He then approached it and aimed his arm upon it, at point blank range.

Celina's eyes widened, she started to get nervous. "Hey Blue what are you planning to do? Stop!" She said anxiously.

"It's obvious isn't it, I'm letting it dry fast." He said.

When Blue's arms started to emit bluish flames, Celina reached out her arm, leaped and slammed unto him and then they both tumbled. Blue staggered and fell on the ground with his back landing first while Celina fell along with him, he lost his aim and fired upon a random trunk instead.

Celina was on top of him, she was on a bit of trance as she gazed into Blue's eyes. The young sunshine shone unto his eyes, it sparkled and revealed some traces of innocence under his cold and tough persona. It had her feel a bit of pity as though she peered into the depths of his true soul. Underneath those eyes were a man being drowned on the abyss, crying for help.

When both of their eyes met, she came into her senses, she leaped away panicking, turned around as she wrapped her body with her arms. Her cheeks then flushed from embarrassment.

"You're annoying woman." Blue said, then he lifted himself up and brushed the dirt on his clothes.

Celina strayed her eyes as though annoyed or shy, she never spoke a word after seeing the anguish on his eyes. She started to feel down as well.

Blue glowered upon her. "You're not gonna say anything?"

Celina remained her lips sealed and her eyes looked away.

He ended up sighing as though tired and strutted away to a trunk and sat quietly. "Whatever."

She was a bit tense and glum filled her face, she sighed as she huddled herself on the ground. "Blue, just how long did you suffer?" She whispered to herself with her lips heavy.

The sun soon rose on the sky, glowing majestically, however it got blotted out with thick grey clouds, the landscape below got blanketed by a heavy shadow thus it darkened.

Celina gave an exasperated gasp after seeing the sun got blocked, it seems she'll have to wait for a little longer. Since her clothes were still wet, but not as much as earlier, it would still be uncomfortable to wear it though.

The calm river rippled since the wind were getting intense, the trees cried a rustling noise while they were being swayed, the grasses were teetering and the scene were a ruckus.

As the sky continued to become dreary, she got immersed into the cold air, that she started to shiver, especially since her legs were naked. She agitated as she gathered herself into a fetal position, she hugged herself tight hoping to combat the piercing cold.

However, Blue remained unperturbed as he had a high tolerance for heat and cold, he stared blankly upon the dark grey sky letting time ebb away. Blue's attention got taken when she heard Celina squealing as though she was suffering.

Blue sighed, she stood back up and shyly approached Celina, he removed his black coat and lent it to her. "Here wear this." Blue said while he couldn't look her straight into the eye.

Celina rose her arm as though hesitant to take it.

Blue jolted it infront of her. "Take it." He raised his voice.

Celina lightly chuckled and slowly groped it, she blanketed her entire body with it and sighed. "I didn't know you can be a gentle man."

Blue exposed his naked torso, there were several scars on his chest and he was somewhat burly. There was a dark tattoo which was a series of curvy spikes that resembled a flame on the right side of his chest running to his stomach.

Blue spun and ambled away. "Don't get the wrong idea, I'm just helping you out, since I would be expecting your help in the future."
