14 Back Home

After the emotional reunion and lashing out of his anger, Zhang Wei and the lady headed back to their sect. Although, when they were traversing to the Golden Mountain, it was Zhang Wei who showed attitude and was unapproachable, during their journey back, he retroactively tried to approach the lady and talk about the events that happened in the cave. However, he couldn't do it. It was not that the lady was showing attitude or acting unapproachable like Zhang Wei did, it was more like she had an invisible barrier around her which made it difficult for him to speak. An immense pressure surrounded her every time he approached her. So, he chose to stay back and protect her instead. After all that was his primary duty.

One month passed and they were able to return back in the same time frame as they did for their journey towards the Golden Mountains. If what Zhang Wei and the lady had could be considered an emotional reunion, then one that the lady had with her family would transcend an emotional reunion. While her mother and father were immensely happy that their daughter came back safely, her little brother, Ao was crying a river. He wasn't even willing to let go of his sister, because he was afraid that she might leave once again. Zhang Wei shed a tear at this emotional scene.

The sect leader and his wife thanked Zhang Wei for accompanying their daughter and protecting her and rewarded him ten gold coins. However, even though he accepted the thanks, he couldn't accept the coins, because he felt as if he couldn't really protect the lady like they imagined he would. Instead, it was truly based on luck that the lady survived. Since this made him feel guilty, he returned the gold coins back to the leader. And along with that, he added ten more gold coins that he received from the lady back in the Golden Mountain as a token of apology. When the leader refused to accept it saying that it was a gift that his daughter gave, Zhang Wei forcefully handed it to him saying that he would receive it once he's strong enough to save the lady from any kind of trouble. Although the sect leader didn't quite understand the meaning behind it since he felt like Zhang Wei did a tremendous job already, seeing the firm resolve in his eyes made the leader accept the gold coins without any further questions.

The leader felt it. Hell, even Zhang Wei himself felt it. He was a different man from the one who left the sect with the lady. He fought many monsters… MANY monsters. He understood that he wasn't even barely scraping the surface if we are to talk about strength. He understood that with his current strength, he can't protect the people close to him; the ones he swore to protect. So, while exiting the sect house, he only had one thought in his mind. Get stronger. More stronger than he currently is. So strong that no one would dare to touch any of the Blue Moon Sect's members.

"Ah, that sure was an awkward journey." Since I looked around and saw no one around, I chose to speak freely to Goldy, who was just loitering around, looking at the family heirlooms that even I don't recognize.

[What do you mean?]

"You can stop speaking to my mind. I checked around and I saw no one. So, speak out!" I ordered.

Goldy sighed. "I asked, what do you mean by the journey was awkward? Was it less awkward when you came to the Golden Mountain?" He asked, slightly pouting.

"Hell, yea! Look, it would've been fine if it was just me and you or just me and Zhang Wei. But to talk with you in my mind, while Zhang Wei intently staring towards me, looking as if he had something to talk about pained me. I'm awkward at social conversations, so I can slightly feel the pain that Zhang Wei might've felt even though those two scenarios aren't really that same." I replied.

"Whatever! So, what are you gonna do now?" He asked.

"Well, how about you teach me your cultivation technique or something?" I asked. Since, I'm this close to achieving the cultivation technique of a freaking gold dragon, I really didn't want to waste my time doing meager things.

"Damn, are you sure? You just arrived at your house after a long two month break, you know? You can rest or play with your brother or something." Goldy suggested.

"Nah, I wanna learn it as soon as possible. I feel like since Hua Liu missed out on cultivation during her entire time, it's my responsibility to make her body experience it." I replied.

"Hmm, even though you dub it as some noble cause, let's be honest here… It's because you're curious about how cultivating feels in real life after playing the game all these years. However, you'll have to wait for some time. Your mom's coming." He pointed towards the directions from where footsteps were heard.

"Hua! Why don't you quickly bath and then we'll have dinner together, huh? We could talk about what happened all these days around here and with you." She looked excited as she requested. I just couldn't refuse someone who looked this excited! So, I took upon her offer and went to the bath.

Half an hour later. We were all on the kitchen floor, having food. It was really nice. We were laughing and stuff. It still feels unreal that I'm able to live in such a familial atmosphere. I really got to thank whoever reincarnated me here. Although the future fears me, the present with these people keeps me going.

"Hua, are you sure your Qi center is fixed to that extent?" Father asked. He was a bit concerned. Well, his concern was justified. A Qi center being fixed to even my level was unheard of.... Well, having a cursed body with no cultivation prowess was also unheard of. But, I would've never thought that this would literally be a curse!

"Ah, if you're that concerned, you could just check my QI center, you know?" I spoke. Mum and dad didn't check my Qi center once I returned. Maybe it was because they were afraid to check on it and realize that their daughter made a mistake in her judgement and that the Qi center is still fricked up. However, in this instance, seeing my confident look, father reluctantly agreed and placed his hand on my back and closed his eyes. Before he did so, I signaled Goldy, who was intently glaring at the food before us, to cast the illusion on my body.

And once he opened his eyes,, they were filled with surprise. Mum and little Ao were curious to see him surprised as well and waited to listen to his words. "It's true. Her Qi center's fixed. It's a miracle! It seems like she still can't do cultivation, but she doesn't have to consume Qi pills every now and then. Hua, will you tell father how it got fixed?" He asked in sheer curiosity.

However, I couldn't answer that question even though he was my parent. I believed if I told him and he accidentally revealed it to someone else, Goldy's location would be compromised and the God's interference would be fast forwarded. "Sorry, father. I can't…" I started, but he quickly stopped me.

"Ah, don't worry about it. Everyone's got their own secrets, eh?" He smiled. I smiled back as well. I really have cool parents!

Suddenly, mum jumped into the conversation. "Since you're healthy and you're here, you'll be attending the Rookies tournament, right?" She asked.

I was kinda confused by this question. "But mother, I can't fight!" I replied.

"Ah, I'm not asking you to fight or something. I'm asking you to attend the tournament as the clan representative. You'd like to see your classmates fighting in that tournament, right? Originally, I was planning to send Ao with your father if you didn't arrive at time or ended up sick in some way, but since you're here, why don't head with your father. It'll be pretty exciting." She explained.

However, I stayed silent for a moment since I had quite a few things to consider. If it's the Rookie tournament from back in the game, that means it's the event where the two geniuses from the Taiyi sect make an impact in it. Zhangsun Shan was everyone's favorite. But what surprised them was the emergence of Qiu Si, who stayed silent throughout her academy days. Qiu Si here was being encouraged and supported by the male lead, Zhangsun Shan, which brought forth her latent abilities. Ah, the scene where Qiu Si jumped towards Zhangsun Shan watching her in the audience and the hug they had was quite a nice scene to watch.

But, I am someone who wanted to stay as far as the main leads as possible, because of obvious reasons. And if I'm to attend it, I'd meet them in some way, shape or form. And if I don't, I'll miss one of the most heartwarming scenes in the game. Damn, I have to make a hard decision!
