10 THE TRUTH

The next morning, loud sounds were heard from the open-ground in the 'Saint-crossing' courtyard.

Yue Huang was obviously disturbed by the noises and could only grumble and use his pillows to cover his ears.

*Aaackkk!!*

A painful shrill scream sudden rang out and completely killed Yue Huang's sleepy mood.

Yue Huang got up from his bed, still in his pyjamas as he went to the open-ground to see what was happening.

The scene was a pleasant surprise to him as his eyes opened wide.

On the open-ground was Yue Song who had his limbs tied down by metallic chains as if he was some wild beast. There were lot of cuts and slashes all around his body. It didn't take a genius to guess how badly he was whipped around.

Yue Yi, in his white robes looked as if he was an impartial judge who was handing down justice as he spoke, "Yue Song, do you or do you not admit to misguiding my son, Yue Huang into coming late to the city?"

" N-no..!", Yue Song feebly spoke out but his dodgy-eyes and guilty look was obviously saying otherwise.

Even those deacons and the Yue family disciples who were watching from the sidelines could tell from a glance that Yue Song obviously didn't want to admit to his wrong-doings.

Yue Huang, by this time had already made his way into the crowd and took one look at Yue Song's guilty expression only to be rendered speechless.

[Obviously, this guy doesn't even know how to lie properly!], Yue Huang's horizons were truly widened that day.

But after thinking over it again, Yue Huang felt that this could be rather... expected?

From the 'original' Yue Huang's memories, he knew that Yue family was a righteous family that abhorred evil and being brought up in such a family, it could be said that the Yue family members were all straightforward people.

So even if Yue Song was a evil guy, having been brought up in a family such as Yue family, some discrepancies in his attitude were bound to be shown. Just like now, where he couldn't even lie with a straight-face.

As Yue Yi continued to ask more questions, Yue Song tried his best to remain composed but his guilty expression was obviously not helping.

As Yue Song's eyes darted around it soon landed onto Yue Huang, who was quietly standing among the crowd.

His eyes immediately reddened with anger!

Yue Song grit his teeth tightly, he didn't know how Yue Huang managed to escape from his seemingly 'flawless' plan but it didn't change the fact that he hated the latter deeply!

"Y-Yue Huang! you little piece of sh*t! If this daddy gets his hands onto you then I will surely strangle you to death! you hear me?!", Yue Song mustered up some strength and spoke out hatefully.

Yue Yi who was standing by the side had his brows shot-up when he heard the abuses that were given to his son, especially when the other party called himself 'daddy'.

Just when he was about to take action, he saw his son walk out from the crowd looking unfazed by Yue Song's ranting.

"You already failed once to kill me. You dare to try again?", Yue Huang spoke calmly with a straight-face but deep inside he was freaked out.

He knew that although Yue Yi had the power to execute Yue Song on the spot, it didn't change the fact that without sufficient evidence it could cause some problems for his father.

Plus, although Yue Song's expression was a dead giveaway, it still couldn't be considered as 'sufficient' evidence. Hence, Yue Huang felt that the Yue family was lacking severely when it came to handing out justice.

[It's no different than how the laws operated back on Earth. The powerful criminals simply roamed freely while the innocents suffered behind bars. ]

And hence, Yue Huang decided to step-up and face Yue Song and try to trap him in a battle of words!

[That line from Detective Conan better work!], Yue Huang thought inwardly. This move of his was an attack on the psyche of the criminal and by egging him on, it had a chance of showing some great results.

And Bingo!

Hearing Huang's words only served to add oil onto the fire, Yue Song exploded out, "What if I failed? but I'm more than capable of daring to try again!"

Yue Song seemed to have gone berserk with rage as he kicked a pebble that lay near him right towards Yue Huang.

Although Yue Song couldn't move as he was bound by the chains, but he knew that Yue Huang was someone who didn't cultivate.

As long as that pebble hit Yue Huang, although the latter wouldn't die, he would atleast be severely injured!

It all happened in a blink of an eye and before the deacons or the other Yue family disciples could react the pebble was already in front of Yue Huang.

At that moment, Yue Huang's face was filled with regret.

Yue Yi, who was by Yue Song's side all this time had an impassive look on his face and without turning back, he just lifted one of his finger and a white ray shot out .

The ray was eerily fast and in an instant it already hit onto the pebble and burst it apart into fine powder.

Nobody understood what had just happened, not even those high leveled deacons within the crowd.

Although they were puzzled, nobody thought too hard about it. Not even Yue Huang, as he felt it was probably the famous 'plot armor' which he so fervently read about in novels that probably helped him out.

But there was one thing the crowd sure of!

Yue Song was f*cked. Before attacking Yue Huang, he just indirectly confessed his crime of trying to have Yue Huang killed moreover he then tried to attack him in front of the whole crowd.

Although the crowd knew that Yue Song was guilty, they couldn't be sure whether that warranted death as there were no sufficient evidence against the latter.

But now that everything was exposed, it was a sealed deal that the latter would surely be executed.

Yue Song's face turned pale as he heard the crowd's discussion. He knew this time his anger had truly gotten the better of him. There was no way to escape out from this mess now.

He just closed his eyes and waited for his death.

Yue Yi knew now that there were so many witnesses, the matter regarding sufficient evidence could be considered settled but he was still troubled by something.

"Why did you try to get my son killed?"

Yue Song didn't hide anything as he said only two words, "Meng Hua."

Yue Yi's eyes expressed his shock, "All this..just for that girl?"

Yue Song nodded, "I truly love her..."

"You could have tried to discuss this with me, you do realize that the engagement is not yet set? Perhaps I might have even supported you if I had known.", Yue Yi shook his head. The young were truly foolish.

Seeing Yue Yi's compliant look, Yue Song realized how foolish he had been. Although he regretted his actions, nothing could be done now.

"Farewell.", Yue Yi's hands that held onto his sword flashed out with extreme speed.

In the next moment, Yue Song's body lifelessly fell onto the ground.

The conversation that Yue Yi had with Yue Song before the latter's execution was mainly through whispers hence the crowd didn't hear anything other than a 'Farewell' before Yue Song's execution.

As the case was considered settled, the crowd dispersed.
