16 RETURN

Yue Huang soon caught up with Yue Yi in the distance as they proceeded back towards the Saint-Crossing courtyard. Yue Yi knew that his son had lagged behind and had some secret talk with Meng Song.

As Yue Yi wasn't a narrow minded person, he didn't care what his son did as long as he didn't cause any trouble.

...

The Yue family deacons along with the family servants were ready for departure. A long-line of carriages could be seen parked next to the courtyard, just from the sight alone one could easily understand what it meant to travel in luxury. The Yue family, being one of the top four powers from Tingxin Empire, certainly wouldn't allow their family members to travel uncomfortably.

The carriages of the Yue family were literally studded with precious gems and lined with gold. As expensive as the exterior of the carriage was, it couldn't even compare to its interior which used the most expensive silk and precious leather and various other opulent materials that ensured the traveller the utmost comfortable travelling experience.

.

Yue Yi upon reaching back to the courtyard immediately signalled everyone for departure. Soon sounds of rushing horses rang out as Yue family carriages moved out, heading straight back towards Tingxin Empire!

.

Yue Huang had one whole carriage all to himself. He had a gleeful look plastered on his face as he looked at the ancient book in his hands.

This book was of course the same book that was 'gifted' to him by Uncle Song. Yue Huang didn't dare estimate how old the book truly was; just by looking at the yellowish shade of the pages in the book, it should at least be a decent 400-500 years old book and this was just a conservative guess!

Yue Huang took in a cold breath before he opened the book.

"... [Nine Palms Of Raijin]... Once trained to the peak, the user can summon lightning from the skies and deal devastating damage to the opponent...."

Yue Huang's eyes burned with strong intent, he almost pictured a scene from a western movie called Thor that he had watched back on Earth.

.

The excited Yue Huang who wanted to train his [Nine Palms Of Raijin] technique as soon as possible felt his enthusiasm suddenly cool down as he went through the successive pages of the manual.

It turned out that to practice this technique, the user had to keep getting struck by lightning over and over. Cultivating this technique not only required the user to have a strong willpower, it also required lightning essence. This essence could only be obtained from real lightning strikes. So until unless the user got hit repeatedly by lightning, there was really no other way to obtain lightning essence.

Although this technique seemed hard to cultivate and almost made Yue Huang give up on it for a second, but the moment he looked at the advantages that it could offer; Yue Huang immediately strengthened his resolve to cultivate this technique to the peak!

This was because, by cultivating the technique to peak the user would be many times stronger than a person in the same realm and would be able to compete with martial artists above their realm! but this wasn't what excited Yue Huang the most, the thing that excited him the most was that after practicing the technique to the peak, the user would have a trace of lightning attribute in their Qi!

This meant that each of his Qi attacks would have a trace of lightning attribute, in other words, tremendous damage would be dished out by his attacks!

[Too bad I can't cultivate this technique immediately. I will first have to search for a place where lightning strikes are frequent.], Yue Huang thought as he comfortably laid back on the cushion inside of his carriage.

...

Days passed by in a flash, and before Yue Huang knew it, the troupe of carriages had already arrived in front of the Yue City gates.

Tingxin Empire consisted of four major powers and Yue family being one of them, completely dominated the eastern region of the Empire. The place they resided in eventually came to be called as 'Yue City'.

Although it was called as 'City', It was no less than an independent kingdom.

.

Yue Huang had a calm expression on his face as he looked at his surroundings from the window of his carriage. He knew this place all too well. After inheriting the previous Yue Huang's memories, it could be said he was not a bumpkin when faced with the high-class nature of Yue City.

The soldiers guarding the City gates immediately let the Yue family carriages in the moment they saw the insignia of two crossed swords engraved on the carriages.

This Insignia represented the might and glory of the Yue family, nobody would dare to stop a carriage that had this Insignia. Plus the soldiers had also noticed that the center-most carriage's insignia was engraved using purple-jade. This immediately made the soldiers aghast as only elders of the Yue family were allowed to ride on such carriages!

All the soldiers around the perimeter immediately bowed down respectfully and didn't dare to straighten their back until all the carriages had proceeded into the city.

.

Everything went on smoothly as the Yue family carriages made their way to the Yue family residency.

.

After entering the Yue family residency, many pavilions and mansions came into view along with beautiful lakes and lush mountains in the background.

Although Yue Huang had witnessed all of this through the previous Yue Huang's memories, he still felt quite shook and stupefied when he witnessed all this 'personally'.

[This place seems like a divine haven for cultivation.], Just breathing the air alone was enough for Yue Huang to know that this place was extraordinary.

"It feels exhilarating! I feel this urge to begin my cultivation as soon as possible."

.

" -but firstly, I need to get myself a sword. ", Yue Huang mumbled. His cultivation was not even lv1 Body Refining Realm, he had to prioritize getting a sword to cultivate the [Jade Script] and step into Body Refining Realm as soon as possible.
