1 Part One-Chapter One

Blue fire eliminated the dark forest, a little girl standing close to the fire in awe. Not knowing how the fire was coming out of the stranger's hand. She had wandered into the forest near her cottage hours before, not realizing how lost she had gotten till night had fallen, the temperature dropping to below freezing, making her curl into a ball under a big tree. To be awakened by the blue fireman, well not man, closer to a boy.

The young man slipped his gloves back on, not wanting to hurt the child, he cautiously picked her up, and whistled for his horse, putting the young girl on before getting on himself starting off towards the village.

Well, this wasn't part of the plan...

"Mister?" The child said, the man just hummed looking back slightly, "T-Thank you...I would have frozen if it wasn't for you, my Mama will probably be grateful...so if you don't want the hassle of dealing with her... then you should probably just drop me off at the edge of my village." She murmured, having to pause in between because of the crisp cold air. The man nodded pushing his horse faster.

When he had arrived near the village he heard shouts, calling for an "Elizabeth" probably the young girl's name.

"Elizabeth," The man said his voice a whisper, Elizabeth looked up at the man, her new hero, "I need you to not tell anyone about me, I will drop you off a few feet from the forest's edge, and when you can no longer see me, I want you to yell for help. Okay?" The boy nodded sitting up as the man got off the horse, holding his arms out for Elizabeth to lean into.

Once he had, he lowered her to the ground looking into her green doe-like eyes. Elizabeth took a shaky breath turning towards the yelling before glancing back at the man, in return the man just nodded, standing back up, towering over the girl, making her crane her neck to look at the man properly.

Elizabeth took off towards the village then ran back towards the man hugging onto his legs tightly making the man's eyes widen then she let go flashing him a toothy grin and sat on the ground a few feet from the edge of the dark forest, staring at the man.

The man just smiled softly, got up on his horse, and rode off into the night. Leaving the girl to wonder, if she would ever see the mysterious man again.

The man walked into the village, a few weeks after the incident with Elizabeth happened. He had lived long enough to know that it wasn't a good idea but he couldn't help it, he hadn't been hugged since he was a child in his last life, which had ended abruptly. He had only met one other like him in all of his time, and she had said that she neither, could remember her first life, just all the ones afterward. She had a theory that they had both done something evil in their first life, and that was why they were damned to an eternity of life, having to let go and watch people around them and people they cared about die, but never truly die themselves.

She was gone now though, just like all the others he cared about. In a neverending cycle, he had to end it, which was why he was going to do all the good he can in every life, so he can make up for whatever evil thing he had done when he was naive and only on his first life.

He walked through the center of town his palm ablaze with a luminous glow, lighting his way through the dark. When he finally made it to the young girl's house, he saw her huddled under a few blankets, still shivering. She looked older now, ten...eleven at most, but not five or six. The man saw the dying fire and the older woman sitting on the floor next to Elizabeth, fast asleep holding onto her hand loosely.

His heart clenched at the sight, knowing she was home safely, with her family. He couldn't help the ping of jealously he felt though, he hadn't had a family in so long...

He stepped away from the window the need to get away coursing through his veins. He knew that if he didn't, bad things would happen, he could already feel the fire raging around inside him clawing at its cage to get out, not giving the man a choice, his palms lighting up with blazing fire, not like before, wilder...out of control...dangerous.

He stuck his hands in the shallow snow hoping to reign it in. It didn't work, to say the least, the fire started crawling up his arms making the man fall to his feet sitting there, rocking back and forth, fire covering his whole body now.

The villagers, who had seen the blue flames stepped out of their homes gasping the children hiding behind their mothers, shouts started to be heard screaming things such as witch and demon, no one knowing what to make of this stranger.

All the while the young man just sobbed, rocking back and forth, wondering what he had done to deserve this cruel fate. His tears burned out the flames, letting the villagers see the poor man. The men, ones who had been shouting and yelling, grabbed onto his arms and dragged him into a cell, where he knew he was going to die.

Weeks passed, torture was done, scarring the young man, mentally and physically. Only left scraps to eat, to survive. The fire, which had been ever so present before, did not return, no matter how much the young man tried. He also didn't cry, it seemed that all of his tears had dried out that night he was a fireball.

One day the man was doomed to be drowned, labeled a demon, which he did not think he was, but who was to know. He only sometimes thought about young Elizabeth, the rest of the time his brain dead silent, only hearing echoes of pasts lives never the whole thing, it would be too good to be true for him to get sucked back into full live flashbacks. Releasing him from his torture, no that would be too good indeed.

One of the men who had been feeding him stepped into the cell, pulling him up roughly, dragging him out of the cell towards the harbor. The young man looked up his vision blurry from the change in lighting. His eyes widen as he sees young Elizabeth, her eyes red and puffy half hiding behind her mother's leg.

He looked down, ashamed, he had gotten his wish, to see the girl one last time, and just sighed softly as chains were tied to him; tightly. It was no matter to him though, he was about to die anyway.

He looked back at the girl one last time, before being thrown in the dark cold water of the harbor, knowing, he would be back, all in good time.
